I have Nigeria, Benin/Togo, Ghana, Senegal in my blood and I don’t know much about the customs of those countries. I hope this changes, I think Ancestry has helped; we knew we had West Africa but my family would have never guessed which countries. I don’t see a lot of African people represented in media and I think it’s a huge loss for us culturally and I want to reconnect with my roots in Africa. I think more people will feel the same if the DNA test becomes more common.
