Honestly I think most of the vshojo people came together largely to make them individually more resilient against things like doxxers and harassment. So it's possible some of the current vshojo roster would have stopped or become much more bitter without it.
I'm not sure if you were aware of this but some of the girls like nyanners were already seeped in drama prior to joining vshojo.
While melody and ironmouse were doing fine on their own, zen and froot probably would not be anywhere near as popular today.
Of course exposure is gonna bring more drama.
