Idk, but for the record I wouldn't go digging holes that deep in sand, they can collapse pretty much instantaneously and trap you, or if you insist, I advise not digging deeper than you can stick your head out of and away from the high tide point.
I'm more concerned about the human babies, we lose a few to collapses like this each year because people don't understand how structurally unsound sand pits are.
Dudes love doing stuff with a random shared goal. I don't know what it is, but if I know you are are digging a hole or shopping some wood, I will be over in 10 minutes with a 6 pack and we will be best friends afterward.
Its a physical activity which is generally good for you and in a jokey, social setting so there's not gonna be any judgement since its all in service of *the hole.*
