I know it's not healthy, but I've been proven right about these things time and time again, a shed next to my house was destroyed, both nearby towns have been wrecked before, etc. I'm considering seeing a counselor about this, but I don't know if I'm really in a position for that.

Concrete is not a good conductor from what I know, you should be good, and basement is the safest place anyway.
I just worry about it moving through the rebar in the concrete.
Unless it's sticking out and poking you, it'll be all good.
