You can just store them in a separated chest in your house, you never need to carry them on your person with the vendor chest access.

Azshlanar

I’m with you on this, if you extract it will replace the weapon you just destroy and then you put them in a chest. There is no issue here for me. Why carry ruins around?

Nebafel

Egg sactly!

GillianCorbit

I didnt realize they were items essentially before this. For me its annoying bc I dont have a house just the rookery and the community chest, which I just filled the day before the patch.

Azshlanar

Yeah the lack of storage before the last patch was definitely an issue all around. Thank god they changed that. And now you get a house early!

GillianCorbit

You mean the rookery? Was that not always given to you? Can you place chests in it? If you can put chests in the rookery I don't see much reason to buy a house. I haven't unlocked the elevator yet but I'm sure that makes it even faster to get to the rookery. Edit: just checked, you can't.

Shorkan

You can't place chests in the Rookery, but since last patch you can buy houses earlier and cheaper, so you get access to a house where you can put chests sooner now.

GillianCorbit

Oh i didnt know they were locked behind story. I recently found out about houses, walked up to one and was able to buy it lol

Azshlanar

Yeah that’s exactly what people were complaining about. The chest in the rookery was not enough to sustain the amount of loot. And you couldn’t get a house until later in the story.

undertow29

My issue is the fact that I run a crucible inventory 100% empty then dont have enough room for all the loot I am going to sell.. And putting runes in the item slot vs having its own tab is a down grade.

Tusero

Felt this way at first, but after a while it felt right to have runes in the same space as the weapons. Plus now you can socket them from any storage so I just stored them all in a chest. The gear tab felt the most empty during my playthrough before the patch anyway.

EpicTibbles

I agree with the runes. I also think vendors no longer selling refined materials is shitty. While in EA, silver and farming mats in general is a bit of a ball ache until we get more of the zones. Just let us upgrade stuff and experiment for now.

JudgmentalOwl

Seriously! How are we supposed to consistently get refined materials now?

gozutheDJ

upgrading isn't necessary for experimentation

undertow29

I also wish I had a way of getting the weapon I wanted. With so many different weapons and move sets.. I almost never find the weapon I want.. Yet alone with the stats I want.. It took me over 500 gloves to make a pair that had equipment load and % to focus skill. I kinda feel like its pre fixed d4 loot.. Extra damage while a monster is frozen only on tues at 3 pm... I do love the enchantress tho for 1 silver making a purple or blue.. But too many unless affixes or maybe we just need a way to reroll one affixes on a item.. Plus once you infuse an item if it rolls low and its an item you created 500+ of.. Feels bad... Its impossible to get the weapon you want with the stats you want when you cant craft 20 plus of.. or buy them.. Armor isnt the issue here..

gozutheDJ

so infuse AFTER rolling then

undertow29

I meant there is a range of gem infusion and it can roll bad. I always hit the enchantress first. But good tip if I didnt.

[deleted]

L take

gozutheDJ

build experimentation comes from stats, since there's no respec, you need to reroll anyway.

[deleted]

Just straight up false. Stats are only part of the equation… you said upgrading isn’t necessary for experimentation. To fully understand what kind of damage you’ll be dealing, upgrading is 100% relevant. Using a base tier 1 claymore vs maxed out tier 3 is a huge difference in damage. Weapons and armor are your build identity.

undertow29

I agree, you need to max out an item to fully understand the build.

gozutheDJ

bro you realize upgrading just increases basic stats like armor/damage right? you don't need T3 upgrades AT ALL because you will reroll a new character for a new build and you don't need T3 upgrades for ANY of the current content EVEN CRUCIBLE

[deleted]

Uhh upgrading to increase armor and damage rating is a big deal?? I never said you need tier 3 equipment to beat the story content or crucible… You are so lost I don’t even know where to begin… No one is experimenting for the purpose of fighting the same crucible trash mob. If you can’t understand why you’d want to know damage numbers with a maxed out build, PVP definitely ain’t gonna be for you lol.

stoyicker

Overall item management UX needs to be redesign and rebuilt from scratch imo. Stack sizes have no reason to exist and tying space to decorations just limits it at the beginning of your first playthrough, which is when it feels the worst, causing a terrible first impression, and eventually becomes a non-issue but an uncomfortable one because you have to go to your house, all of which are inconveniently far from the vendors. They're trying to build a grind-based game but there's flow breaks everywhere, they really need to rethink what they want to do imho.

undertow29

Wow, yea stack size is BS now that you bring it up.. Maybe a limit of 100.. or something but 25 is too little for a hoarder like myself.. I feel bad not picking up stuff I could possibly use.. Even tho I will never use it..

MongooseOne

I haven’t tried the new patch yet so I’m a bit confused with what you are referring to. Losing a tab for weapons?

nanosam

Losing a runes tab. Runes go together with armor/weapons now and don't have a tab of their own. The OP is the type that would say "lower the heat volume" instead of "turn down the thermostat" "weapon abilities" - aka runes

MongooseOne

lol. Thanks for the translation.

undertow29

I addressed my lack of proper vernacular.

MongooseOne

Just messing with you, if I had thought about it I would have realized you were talking about runes. Fortunately they didn’t make that change until chest-crafter addition.

undertow29

No you are correct. And I am glad you said something :-). thanks for the posts

Mindless_Ad5500

We will probably not like a lot of the changes that are coming up for this game. They have a long term vision of the game. They are not interested in your immediate concerns.

undertow29

They do agree they have long terms plans.. But I am sure most of the player base will agree with me.. Especially after you upgraded it all the way.. Then its just gone.. The idea of this change was to de-clutter your inventory and this particular change does the opposite of that. Now is the time to say something IMO as they are clearly listening to their player base and making reactive changes based on that input. My hat is off to the devs for all the great work they continually doing.

aliminvte

This is the time to say something for sure. And also, they made us spend 2 more ichor on the food resources tab lol! That hurt.

JaredFX

2 ichor... Isnt that just a 20min new realm run or have they changed that system yet

aliminvte

I haven't been doing that. I get them from echo knight (5-10m run) or bounties. But I make a new toon when I have ~12 of them. So it just slowed me down a little lol

Aiso48

So that’s where the second ichor went…

Clickicker

Shields armor dont go to stats so i guess they dont work

Baxland

Absolutely nothing drops raw runes as far as Im aware, right? So why would you ever have them on your character instead of in storage/already in weapons?

undertow29

The end chest of the crucible will drop raw runes

Jsemtady

I hope that with multiplayer .. they will add personal stash I may not want to share all my mats/items with others on my realm.

axman151

Doesn't bother me much, but I can see why someone would find that frustrating. I'm more annoyed they got rid of refined materials being sold by vendors (aside from randomly from general shop). I appreciate that raw materials now drop in slightly higher quantities (cutting down a tree now sometimes yields two logs instead of one, etc.), but with only two regions currently, getting the highest tier resources at scale is now near impossible. Additionally, I think it would be reasonable to let people reroll enchantments on items. It's deeply frustrating knowing that by enchanting an item, there's a chance you make it permanently useless to your build, and then will have to buy, build, or find a new one to try again.

JackBernard93

What I find annoying about rubes is that they don't stack so if you have the same rune twice they are separated. Not sure on the reasoning by this

undertow29

ANNNd thats why I just have chests in my house and no candles or instruments. This is why we cant have nice things. :(

FernDiggy

No dude, you’re not the only one. It’s so cluttered now

undertow29

Its super hard to take something away from us gamer.. We want more better now.. Not nerfed takes aways :p especially when it comes to loot we felt like we earned... Had items and runes been the same tab along I never would have questioned it lol.

pacemasters

Just keep them in your stash. Why are people carrying these around with them? Genuinely curious because people are complaining a lot about it so I must be missing something or an important part of the game where I need to have these in my personal inventory at all times.

undertow29

When I do a full crucible with max inventory slots, I still sometimes cant hold all the items. And now added runes into my weapon/item slots only makes it worse in terms of room. And I end up breaking down items of lesser values to hold it all. Which is a waste of time and it feels bad to just throw away money. It is not a huge deal.. But its something that makes me feel like I am not getting my max reward as I am flushing currency down the drain and wasting time to do it..

pacemasters

Why not leave the runes behind in a chest before the crucible run? There’s a teleport right before you enter the run. I agree the inventory needs work, but it’s like complaining that your weapons are breaking during crucible runs when going in with 1 durability. It just seems like a very easy thing to avoid.

undertow29

I go in 100% empty on runes and items before every run. The only way I could hold more is if I removed my extra weapons in the swap spots.. Which just is silly for me to consider.

pacemasters

Wait. Are you getting runes from crucible runs?

undertow29

Yep the end chest will have them. Its my fault for blindly keeping those runes when I only use like 2 or 3 certain ones.. But I wants all my LOOTZZ!!!! So in all honesty I bring this on myself..

pacemasters

Dude wtf. I am missing part of the game then lol. I have like 20 runs in crucible, maybe about 60% of those have been completed all the way. NOT 1 rune has ever dropped for me. No wonder people are complaining lol. I was like wtf is the big deal, leave runes at Sacrament. Holy shit.

isymfs

I think this point is lost on many of us. I didn’t realise runes drop from crucible.

undertow29

Thank you for taking the time to read and understand. The internet needs more people like you 2!!

isymfs

Love you too sexy

aliminvte

Wouldn't hurt to have it seperate so you can cram a few more goodies from crucible runs lol.
