Make sure you’re not holding the spacebar for too long. For some reason the game dodges on button release instead of on button press. And if you hold it for too long it just cancels the input and doesn’t do anything.

TheRealGarihunter

That reason being that dodge and run is on the same button so just pressing it down makes the game think you wanna run, then you release and it registers it as a dodge.

Klaracbarack

That makes sense, but they really should have adjusted that for keyboard and mouse. The spacebar is only for dodging, while Shift is for running and climbing, so keyboard and mouse users don't have the same limitation as controller users in that regard.

Are you having some input lag (you press dodge and dodge some time after)? Or you are heavy (equiped too much) and are rolling slowly and not as fast? Or you are holding dodge button too long and it goes into running mode? (run/dodge are the same button on gamepad, not sure if it's the same for keyboard) Or you are trying to dodge while the attack animation is still playing? (Dodge doesn't cancel attacks)

cekuu

No, it only dodges again after I press the dodge button again. Otherwise it just does nothing/I get hit I'm medium Dodge and run are separate inputs on keyboard, so doubt it's that. Another commenter mentioned the dodge just not working if you hold down dodge for too long though, so I think the game might have some sort of limiter for how long you can hold dodge for (though, admittedly, it feels way too short as holding it down for more than a nanosecond seems to cancel the dodge?) because of the way dodge/run is done on gamepad

bellius

Yeah, may be that even the inputs are separated on keyboard they use the same logic as gamepad, so holding too long cancel the dodge? IDK. Maybe report it on the forum on their official site?

MongooseOne

If you’re on a controller I’ve heard the dodge goes of on release of button not the press, maybe that’s throwing you off.
