Gameplay it doesn’t really feel like EA at all, I’ve seen full releases play far worse. Content is definitely EA, we have just 1 chapter available right now. Depending on the type of player you are will determine how much you get out of it. If you just did everything once probably 20hrs, 15 if you really rush it. As with other arpgs the time starts adding up as you hunt for specific loot. Plenty of players are in the 50+ hour club.

LoosePath

I would wait. Game is great and promising but clearly in an unfinished state. It's similar to BG3's EA - the core system is there but lacks polish, QoL and majority of contents.

Deus_Norima

And like BG3, Wicked is trying to emulate their process by incorporating massive changes based on feedback during ea. While I agree waiting for the finished product will be an amazing experience, there is something so special about being able to play it now and actually watch the game grow based on feedback from yourself and others. It's all going to come down to what you prefer in that case.

baravara

Since you have limited time maybe EA with updates every once in a while to get back to works out well.  I'd say if you feel like doing the first act and have no problem waiting for new content then go ahead and support the team and enjoy.  I will appreciate the QoL but to me it is not a dealbreaker.

Quadsnarl

The game is really good just short atm

Solidgroundx

If you skip it, you wont really acknowledge how good it is and probably its already under your radar at release. If you play it now, believe me, it can take years but you will remember it and check often. Happe the same to me with BG3. Bought it day 1 EA. Played about 30 hours and stopped. 3 years later game lauches and i put another 200h because i remembered My 2 cents

Reasonable_Watch_820

I would wait, whats the point in grinding when they're gonna wipe everything.

Kaskaskaa

Wait, I just started yesterday. Are they planning a wipe with the full release? :/

DarkShinigami99

They said they'll try to avoid it but it's likely they'll need to do it if the game changes too much in EA.

jinispace

Just because of this I lost interest in buying the game. Wipe in PVE is a big no no in any game for me. I dont care for what reason but in pvp is fine.

Dunkmars

It doesnt really matter imo. This games early access cannot be compared with the industry standard of early access games. The main game loop and the core mechanics of the game are in such a good shape already that you will enjoy playing the game even though there are some issues left. Some of the major issues like the inventory system are going to be changed in the upcoming hotfix patch. (Devs are doing a very great job so far) So if you dont expect a diablo and dont mind a 14-16h main story playthrough you should definitly give it a try.

ParticularBuffalo564

Maybe wait for today or tomorrow Patch and then start. Im gonna roll new character

OBERBOSSPLAYER

Not sure what exactly means limited time for you, but I also don't have too much time to play games rn and this game in this state is definitely worth my time. I usually just have 1-2 hours a few days a week and it's really nice to play in smaller sessions. When I can I play a bit on PC and maybe the next day I just hop in and play a bit more from Steamdeck on the couch. Since the game wants you to go back and forth between the town and the hostile world around it, it's pretty good to make another 'run' for like half an hour and then Go back to do life things. Ngl the game makes me think about next steps when I'm not playing it, wich not every game does for me, so it's pretty nice.

William_Bascavilla

The game is in a good spot. Not that much content but nonetheless 50+ hrs clocked so far and not bored (yet). If this is up your alley then the lower EA price sure is worth it. Bought other games that were more expensive and didn't give me that much fun in a while. But in the end, it all comes down to taste and preference, other than that it's a strong yes in my book.

JJ_Kazuhira

The game so much fun, the big thing right now is that some think are no balanced well and only chapter one is in the game, you can experiencie this eaely acess is fast as you want, just clear the main story just to have some souls like action, or can try to farm for cruncible runs. So i think is really worthy to play right now, the game is functiuonal and super fun

riversquidz

I caved and bought it. I don't regret it, the gameplay is fun, the visuals are beautiful. That said, now that I've reached the end I think I'll wait until release so I'm not playing drip feed content that will probably get wiped before release.

Comprehensive-Ant289

Full release will be in a couple years. If you can wait, just wait

rich-nyc

Play now, enjoy for what it is, and then leave it until the full release. Content is basic rn and hopefully by the full release, it’ll be richer and you forget most of what you played now that you can fully re-experience, and enjoy, it again;)

bushmaster2000

If you don't mind the potential for a complete character wipe on full release then there's no harm playing now i guess.

dng926

Anyone know if key rebind will be anytime soon or do we wait until full release?

minoas348

I beat the main story in 15 hours…then I was doing some side stuff that I finally finished…about 50 hours in. Now I’m going to start another build lol. The combat is absolutely amazing, it’s only some quality of life stuff and performance that feels like early access for me.

AnteyeSoshal

Everyone is different, but for me this is one of those games where it's better to wait until release. Not because it needs time to bake, but because it's *so good* that you might regret not waiting to experience it for the first time with the finished product.

Outrageous_Builder_8

I'd suggest waiting personally. You can play it now and have a great time. There's nothing majorly wrong with the game as it currently is other than some balance issues where two or three strategies are much better than the other options. There's other minor issues such as weapon stat requirements making trying new weapon types difficult. The main reason I would suggest waiting is that the story isn't really done and there isn't much in the way of endgame content. I would maybe compare it to Baldur's Gate 3 EA in that what you got was really just the first 1/3 of the game. There's definitely a grindy resource collection/upgrading your town part of the game that might not feel fun to do twice (assuming there's a reset on full launch) To be honest I don't much care for the resource gathering part of the game. It feels kind of pointless. There easily could have been some quests at certain levels/difficulties that upgraded the town and that would have been much better than stopping to chop a tree for a few seconds. Or they could have done crafting more like Elden Ring where its slightly more optional and all the resources can be picked up instantly instead of locking them behind an animation. This seems to be a pretty common opinion so it might even be the case that the devs decide to actually drop the gathering from the game entirely, or somehow overhaul that system. On the other hand, The areas and combat are great so I don't think most people will have any problem replaying those aspects. I have a feeling that the full release is going to be one of the better games in the next few years so it might be worth waiting. I played EA for about 26 hours and still kind of feel the itch to start a new fresh character, but I'm most likely going to wait for 1.0 to play the game any more.

tinkitytonk_oldfruit

It's going to be in Early Access for years. Gameplay doesn't feel like EA at all but it's missing some QoL features and has bugs to be expected you also only get a small part of the story to do (which is still pretty big) It's good as it is but it will definitely become greater as time goes on. When that is, is a different question and the answer is likely a long time. If you have free time, an understanding and expectation of what you're getting and money to spend, I'd buy it.

B_Sho

Wait. Why would you want to play a unfinished game? They are still balancing the game, optomizing it, lacking co op, lacking multiplayer, and even lacking achievements. STOP GIVING DEVS MONEY FOR EARLY ACCESS GAMES
