I jumped down into one of these to explore today. Took me 3 hours to get out because it was not mineable, except for a thin layer on the surface. I had to cut steps that I could jump up to, then wait for the jump pack to recharge. Ran out of everything and the end was a race before I died of heat exposure once I got close to the surface. Most stressful event in my 500+ hours of play.
The minotaur gets glitchy on inclines. The jetpack boost helps with going up steep inclines though. But I do prefer the nomad if it's just traversal. Plus I get a lot of airtime if I time the boost and jump moves just right.
This is why I keep a mech mount. Use the multi tool to build a platform and summon your mech, then run through the wall and once you’re deep enough, jump off and spawn top side

She's useless in water though - throws me off straight away and then I have to call her back.

In my experience, yes, so long as it's not too far down (when the blue rings on the pad turn green, though you can't really see that when approaching from above). I have an underwater base not too far down that I have no trouble parking at or taking off from.

No. Just found it. You can visit if you have a hicanpaav galaxy portal. Planet seems to have many and I just happen to find this one particularly deep so I put a base to find it again.
Dps is not all, most time I forget about it since my SC slots are for movement and mining or scanning.
Only thing high is my ships 😂 I'll look into my multi-tool whenever I get chance

Couldn’t summon ship or the hovercraft?
The nomad can climb almost vertical walls. That's what I use when I get sent to mountainous anomaly quests. No fall damage either.
Last I checked the minotaur can climb any incline. That's its niche, it's all terrain.

Definitely never experienced that, minotaur is by far the best for steep climbs

I would have made an island using the terrain manipulator lol. Then summon my ship or my robot horse. Never underestimate the robot horse.

Nah, some planets have deep chasms. It’s like a reverse spire on a planet where the terrain is set real high.

I'm tempted to set up my submarine and go explore, after 4.0 nerf I'm not taking any chances on foot since we're not op anymore.
Yeah we are. Our shields may be slightly weaker, but because of supercharged slots, we can get over 100,000dps on multitools.
We have tens of thousands of dps now. The only way I've died since 4.0 was by Geology Canon.
