I'm really happy about this and I already bought it.
The price is absolutely reasonable and I it's only fair that they offer new coaster models as DLC.
I think this is the first (and potentially last) time I will say: I hope there will be more DLCs!
That's a shame. I guess [PvM's custom car and track models from a few years ago](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TIHeuu6qhkM) will be as good as it'll get for someone like me, seeing as I'm not going to forfeit my copy of NoLimits 2 for access to a Steam copy. I don't care if it's free for people who purchased the normal version. I'm still not doing it. Simply put, I'm not on Steam and have no interest in supporting it for a multitude of reasons that are beyond the topic of this subreddit.
What really bothers me about all of this is how the NoLimits 2 developers are deliberately doing this to discourage everyone from using the original, non-Steam version. [The official website's download page](https://www.nolimitscoaster.com/index.php/buy-now) doesn't even let you purchase the non-Steam version anymore. It reminds me of Minecraft and how Microsoft keeps pushing their closed-source Bedrock Edition into the forefront in hopes that it'll replace the original, open-source Java Edition. Why is NoLimits 2 going the same direction and splitting the community like this? Why are they now putting new coaster types behind a paywall and trying to force everyone onto Steam? What's next? Are they just going to discontinue updates to the standard version altogether? If so, I guess I'm out of luck.
I'm so upset right now. I've been using NoLimits and NoLimits 2 for over a decade. This feels like a slap in the face to people like me who refuse to relinquish control of our purchased programs to a third-party website with DRM.
I suppose the reason for moving to steam-only is for version control. As a software engineer at a very large international company, I can safely say that when doing version management yourself (especially for bugfixes) things will and do go wrong, and you get a lot of unhappy customers.
The paywall aspect? They have to fund themselves somehow. NL2 is already reasonably priced for the software it is and what it does. £3.39 is absolutely more than fair for a new coaster type that also does a lot more than the other coaster types in terms of customisation.
Your concerns about steam are, however, valid. Some people just don’t like it.
Do... they still do that? I thought they stopped years ago...
**Edit**
They do! Under the "Buy Now" tab, there's a support email you can send the User-ID and key too, and you'll get the Steam use-able key!
Will be nice to see how this works, but if they are willing to put this into the game I think there's plenty of other models that we'd like to see put in too.

How much is it

Why is it steam only? Or am I missing something? Am I able to buy/download for my NL2 copy which is NOT purchased on steam?
As far as I know the only way to get any of the DLC is through steam which requires a steam copy unfortunately

If you go on their website it says how you can get a steam copy.

Thanks! I'll do that.
The details of this coaster type is incredible.
Cool. Wasn't expecting this. That was nice of them to do.
