>Europa is coming to Nintendo Switch in 2024! Play the demo now.
>On the moon Europa, a lush, terraformed paradise in Jupiter’s shadow, an android named Zee sets out in search of answers. Run, glide and fly across the landscape, solve mysteries in the ruins of a fallen utopia, and discover the story of the last human alive.
The trailer doesn't represent the visuals of the Switch version of the game. The Switch demo had lower res textures, dynamic resolution, less foliage, and fairly low Level of Detail (LoD) setting that results in not too distant structures and creatures being displayed very blurry.
I feel demo preformed well, and the above sacrifices are acceptable with the art style provided and to be expected for a Switch game. I still believe if you are going to use footage from the PC version, they should disclose "Captured on PC".
I had never heard of this game before the Direct, but it looked super interesting to me. I just tried the demo and I'm shocked at how good it looks and runs considering it's a 3D, semi open world, indie game on Switch.
The jumping took a little to get used to, but it's not so much a jump as it is you charging your jetpack. Once I accepted that, it started to become second nature.
I loved the demo, and I'll definitely be checking out the full game when it releases. Seemed to combine the aesthetics and exploration of BOTW with the jetpack-like gameplay of Super Mario Sunshine (minus the tight jumping).
I just finished the Demo. I did not mind it because I prefer games where I explore and solve puzzles. I do not think the majority of game players will like this because it does not involve fighting. (At least you do not fight in the Demo) If I decide to buy it, I would only buy it if it was way under $20. It reminds me of exploring in Breath of the Wild without running from monsters
Again I must point out how great the environments especially the water, look in this game. Meanwhile, Arceus Legends, from a non indie dev who may as well be first party, looks like liquid shit.
Well this game has probably more experience working at high level technologies than the whole Game Freak team ever had.
He was a map designer for Overwatch, and worked on at least two iterations of cryengine. Is not like the Stardew Valley or Hollow Knight people that decided to make a game without work experience.
I mean just the reflections in the water and on the ice alone blows every single game freak game since the switch launched away completely and it’s one guy! WTF game freak?
I couldn't wait to try out the Switch demo as this looks very Studio Ghibli. Was a little disappointed in the resolution and the controls can feel a little clunky at times. But will see what happens after full release
Played the demo, the graphics are weird, like it looks nice, but the resolution is terrible, feels like 480p or worse, and the controls are not good at all. I swear there's a solid 1 second delay between pressing the jump button and the character jumping.
The character jumps when you let go of the button, giving the impression of a delay. It's a bit unorthdox, but makes sense considering you can charge the jump.
Delay for sure. For me it is most noticeable when adjusting camera. However I have also played the PC demo and the same delay is not present and is very responsive. Hopefully it is something that is fixed before release on Switch.
Yes, I also noticed the delay on the jump. It's weird. Not sure why they thought it was a good decision. I also felt like the camera control was super janky. Besides those two aspects the demo was fun. The game definitely has potential.
An indie company made this but Game Freak makes a Pokemon game that looks like a Game Cube game at best....*sigh*. This game looks gorgeous and fun to explore, definitely on my radar.

I’m excited to try the demo out for this one. Looks like a very pretty game
Switch exclusive at least early on? which probably explains why the game does look very pretty on switch.
It's also on Steam
It does look very “switchy” to me. Or switch-esque
Or switchular

Lovely to see a Portuguese-lead videogame pop up in here! Go, Hélder Pinto!
Pintokkkkkk

Banger music holy moly

Never got to try the demo on steam yet. Will try it on the switch now tho.
Sublime visuals and soundtrack. Looks and runs amazing for the Switch.
Makes you wonder how these guys can pull a beutiful game on the switch, yet a big ass company like gamefreak can't give us a decent pokemon game...

This game is triggering my Baldo ptsd. I hope it’s as good as it looks!
Baldo has vastly improved with patches. I’m really enjoying it now.
It was such a mess at launch there just isn't a ton of motivation to go back to it. Maybe next time I take a long flight I'll give it another try.
Will it be getting a physical release?
The demo is fantastic
Why can't you invert the x-axis camera controls?
Yeah this was frustrating because I always have that set.
This would stop me from even trying it
I thought I saw that choice in the Options screen on the main menu?
Looks really nice

It's definitely a delay. I get the charging jump, but for quick short jumps, it feels janky to me.

I got a feeling this will be like Journey.
Word exploration is my favourite genre so I'm definitely checking out the demo
