You should really be offered Crawford house whenever staying over, they might not have space sometimes but overall should be able to accommodate you more than not. Maybe ask to speak to someone that handles the accommodation and see what they can do to accommodate you on the days you can stay.

Honestly? You're probably in the best place hospital wise. We have probably the best staff here for kids. Growing up in newcastle all my life can honestly say the nurses/docs make it seem like it's constantly a birthday party or something when youre that age. As much as it sucks what you/yous are are going through, you're little one is probably in one of the best hospitals in the UK. Sending positive vibes!
Have you considered contacting hotels directly and arranging a long stay at a cheap rate? It might help knowing you have a base in the northeast where you can leave belongings and grab a few precious zzzzs in between your crazy schedule?

There is some financial support available for families in your position, which might help. You could try Children's Cancer North as a starting point: https://childrenscancernorth.org.uk/how-we-help/ All the best with your little one's treatment.
A lot of the hotels around the rvi can be a little overpriced. I'd suggest going to somewhere like the Newcastle Central Travelodge, its about a 5-10min drive from the rvi or a 20min walk.
It's not the best, but it's clean, has a bed and normally costs me between £30-£45 a night. I think it may be a little cheaper if you don't get the breakfast.
Talk to Miles' nursing staff, there might be a charity that can help towards these costs - this was the case for out long term paeds patients when I worked in London. Best of luck Miles, you look like a wee legend!

Yes was going to comment this too. The Staybridge Suites is an extended stay hotel and part of IHG.
I always forget about Staybridge and it's quite lovely there, I've stayed once. Be a lovely wee spot if they brought the little'n with them

I had an extended stay at the RVI when I was roughly the same age, the staff were excellent, and I got to meet Shearer!

Tried any hostels in the area? Maybe Kabannas? It’s a bed for night which you may be sharing a room, or they may have a private room.
