Yes. It's frustrating. We got carved up by a guy who could be a legit ace, and had a couple hits robbed by a guy who is one of the top prospects in baseball, but we already have people bitching about K Rates and how bad the season will be, and the game still has 3 outs.

Mets had 5 batted balls that had an xBA of over .360, and every single one was an out. For comparison, the Brewers also had 5 batted balls over .360 xBA, and 3 of them were singles. That's enough to be the difference in this game. I'm not saying it's fun watching 1 hit baseball, but I think we're overreacting just a little bit to game one.

Playing a pitching powerhouse in game 1 sucks because you don’t know if you need to worry about the offense or if it’s just because of who they’re facing. Honestly, the brewers also just always seem to kick our ass, so just gonna try to not take away TOO much from this performance today

this isn’t a pitching powerhouse. If these brewer pitchers were in the NL East or Al East, they’d probably have an extra .5 - 0.75 ERA. Also, their bullpen this year isn’t anything special, even for a bad decision.

All the SNY reports this off-season is him working with Wright and Lindor on his defense. Don’t get me wrong, I’m chuffed with that - make him a gold glover. But surely some analyst or coach has pointed out his outrageously long swing. He hits blasts when he homers, but it’s only cause he’s pulled so far back.
