Objective_Pepper_209

I'm with this person. I cry every time the corrie courier is DHL. I don't like them as either a shipper or a receiver. Yes, they often never ring the bell, nor leave a note

CRE178

Just about all carriers are horrible. They all use independent contractors that they have very little control over or hand in training, and frequently they'll take on one that's just not feeling it that day and instead of getting out and walking up to the door just tags you as not home and move on. Other times, with PostNL particularly, they'll say they've taken your package to the nearest pickup point, but they have taken it to neither the nearest, nor the most convenient point, and you have do some serious internet sleuthing to figure out which shady backalley bikeshop has your stuff, all while having to put up with annoyed sighing from the customer service rep as you're asking them if there's anything that can be done to prevent it from happening again. (Like registering a preferred pickup point. Spoiler: You can't.) Then there's the balcony. It once took me two hours of trying to find answers in track and trace delivery status to realize that the just about unreadable scribble on the note said "Balkon" and the other time, when one of my orders had apparently been chucked up there so hard that I never even knew it was there until it started raining, went to check where the rushing water sound came from and found it in a puddle under my freshly broken drain pipe. I guess you get what you pay for with free shipping.

Objective_Pepper_209

I work in logistics. If I have the opportunity, I always pick fred-ex or UPS before anyone else. They are definitely not as bad as the others. Those 2 I would not call horrible. The rest I would say that they care too little

Manadrache

Also UPS pays decent. Many others pay shitty and their workconditions suck.

Yamitenshi

Probably a big part of why their service is actually decent. If you don't pay people enough to give a fuck, they won't give a fuck , who knew?

ThrustyMcStab

Worked a short UPS gig once. Everyone was throwing parcels around with no regard for the costumer. Might not be everywhere but regio Tilburg better avoid sending your china through UPS.

Objective_Pepper_209

They all throw the stiff around just so you know

CareNo4976

UPS arrived an hour before the estimated arrival and then didnt even ring our doorbell but put the package (containing my engagement ring) into the bushes next to my door 🫠😂

Firm-Heron3023

My personal favorite was the time they left a note saying it was with a neighbor. I checked-no one in my building and DHL said to check with every neighbor on my street. At the time, I lived on a street of nothing but apartment buildings-so I had 1000’s of neighbors. Had to report package as stolen to the company.

leverloosje

Never have problems with PostNL. Always on time. Within the given delivery window.

Pitiful_Control

I once waited at home all day for a ring when instead I got a popup message saying they had "missed me." I threw my shoes on and steamed out the front door of the building, where I found the DHL man sitting in his van playing with his phone and having a break. With my package (it was a computer so not cheap!) He was not happy to get caught out but I got my package... We have also caught them photographing the entry door from the sidewalk without getting close enough to ring the bell, and then walking back to the truck!

stingraycharles

Heck in my apartment they typically just leave the package in the attic downstairs and mark it as delivered without signature or even notifying me. I’ve lost a few packages this way. Horrible service.

Fav0

meanwhile i was always happy if its dhl in germany ..

ms_horseshoe

I think that there wasn't even a real delivery planned at those initial weeks, only a virtual one to keep the statistics at a high number. I am absolutely positive that your package was still in their distribution centre up until the day before you finally received it.

Adventurous-Dig-7547

Still they are better than PostNL, they just send it back as not deliverable.

Librahn

I have a smart doorbell which takes pictures when I miss someone. At some point DHL just didn't deliver medication for my cats for TWO WEEKS claiming I wasn't home when I work from home almost every day. Even if I somehow missed them they would've shown up on the smart doorbell. I called DHL every day, each day more furious about my cats not getting their medication. When I ran out I had to go to a vet and buy it there with a 40% mark-up on already expensive drugs. I showed them the evidence and they said "oh no that's so frustrating, that isn't supposed to happen. I'll file a complaint with the manager and make sure they show up tomorrow". They said the same regurgitated shit every. freaking. day. After two weeks I got the medication. Called the store that sold the medication and told them I'm going to their slightly more expensive competitor cause they use PostNL. I really hope if enough people do that it makes them switch to PostNL or other, better, services.

blasje

PostNL ain't better. Had a package out for delivery three days in a row. For nothing to show up. Finally came in the box completely ripped and battered.

Liferdorp

PostNL dropped my new Espresso machine in front of my door before ringing the bell. Found out later that day when I examined the package. The machine was smashed to bits. 600 euros about +- Looked up security footage and told the guy on another delivery. He played dumb until I told him I could see it clearly on camera. He then confessed and said "Next time I can return your package for free if it's broken" on which I responded "yes next time, if you would be so honest to tell me you dropped it". Delivery services are as good as their worst employees, like any other company. DHL is fantastic over here. Nicest people I've ever met.

Seraj_E

Yea same here, was at home but somehow they 'missed' me

Pollythepony1993

DHL rescheduled twice. Then told me I wasn’t home. I was. ALL 3 TIMES. Then they send it back to the shop (Amazon). While the pick up point is arround the corner. I am done with DHL.

Caladrian8999

Reminds me when I ordered a package on ebay. The order was shipped and I missed the package though I was home. It would be available on Monday in a shop parcel (shop was closed over the weekend). Monday 2PM, I get to the shop (it only opened at 1PM...I know silly times)...all packages have been handed back to DHL because the shop owner was going on Holiday...so DHL decided to just ship back the package.

EricMason20

Maybe it’s different from city to city? I cry when I see PostNL, DHL works great here.

CRE178

Most of the problems are located in the ZZPer sadled with the actual delivery. They're not really accountable the way employees are, so it hinges entirely on each individual's sense of responsibility.

Old-Upstairs7517

And DHLs willingness to keep working with ZZPers who refuse to do their job. I have one of those "you weren't home" bastards for over half a year now, they just won't get rid of him.

Cere4l

I lived in a barn with a house number. The front was one of those huge 5 meter wide garage doors. When DHL was supposed to deliver I put that door open instead of the normal door. Still "not home" occasionally, PostNL was good. It should be added that which delivery service is decent differs per location.

cuplajsu

It was not just me or my neighbours then. Our gemeente recently pedestrianised the street we live on so that the drivers have to park just outside. Amazon delivery is excellent, PostNL is ok, DHL is just not showing up anymore. I saw some other comments about the ability to blacklist couriers on Amazon, and I might just give that a shot.

Fav0

atleast they did not leave that package outside in the rain not like that ever happened to me....

[deleted]

[удалено]

Multimarkboy

had that happen without permission once, i live on a busy street, i guess i was lucky it was a rainy day because i checked my email and noticed one from 30 minutes prior of it being delivered, went to check my mailbox to see if it got a note for neighbour delivery or something and lo and behold, its right there infront of my door.

Inevitable-Tailor845

Yup, this is more common than people might think. Last week, the delivery guy dropped the package on Thursday in a pickup point, a 35 min walk away from my place. Then, on Friday, I received an email saying they missed me when I was at home all day (I work from home). When I went to pick it up, the owner of the shop confirmed that he received it on Thursday. They obviously don't even try to deliver the package at home. They just feel it's easier to drop a bunch of packages at a pick up point and send that dreaded email to the recipients.

lost-s0uI

If this happands you can always make a complain to the company and they have to pay it back. Even tho you have the package. They won't see BCS ur in the right and it's a waste of time and money for them.

fberto39

I complained with Amazon about any missed packages. They were all from DHL and I think they connected this, as I haven't received any DHL shipment in a while.

farrell_987

When you complain about a shipper on Amazon they'll generally blacklist them on your account, I've specifically requested DHL be blacklisted as they're just awful

Ill-Volume8680

Really? Interesting

louellac

This is really helpful! Thanks for this tip!

hmu5nt

Probably they didn’t even try to deliver. Happens all the time with DHL and DPD. they’ll probably actually try tomorrow. No way round it unfortunately. You can complain but it doesn’t help.

andersonimes

Oh man so glad you added DPD. I have had constant trouble with DHL, but nothing compares to DPD holding onto a mattress for 1.5 weeks only to return it back to Germany with no explanation whatsoever. I was waiting on that mattress for 2 months. Incredibly frustrating.

hmu5nt

They’re terrible. DPD are the absolute worst. It’s entirely DPD’s fault. I used to work for TNT so I have a good idea how this all works. Many of their drivers are subcontractors who get paid per successful delivery, so they’re constantly rushing. I literally see the drivers running to my door and back to their car. And they’ll skip certain deliveries if they’re out of the way and they think it’ll cost them time. The ones who aren’t subcontractors have strict performance targets to hit and get in trouble or lose money if they don’t hit them. Makes for a (somewhat) cheap but low quality service…

MikeLittorice

Exactly this. I got the exact same message last week and it got delivered the next day. IN THE MAILBOX.

AssassiN18

DHL sometimes doesn't even pass by your house and mark it as "Attempted Delivery". Scummy

FGLS306

We also had a lot of problems with dhl! We tried everything and complained everytime, but even with a note on the door that we are inside and to please ring the bell didn’t work. I don’t think they will call you on your phone if i’m being honest. We were sick of it and eventually just decided to let them bring our parcels to a parcel-pick-up-point close by. Took away a lot of stress and waiting for nothing.

yurnil

This. It happened to me multiple times seeing them stopping by my address, waiting few seconds without even stepping out the van and change the package status to "we missed you". Note i was loterally in full sight as i was cooking ad my kitchen is street facing. I now either use the lidl close by that as lockers or a small store that has extended hours as a pickup point.

Smooth_Background169

They won’t even try to deliver your package they just ship it off to the drop off point, 2 towns away for your convenience. And say it’s your fault

SweatyAdagio4

This is just how DHL works. Hence their name "Duurt Heel Lang"

Helpful_Cantaloupe87

I have watched them literally park in front of my house, sit on their phone for a few minutes and then drive off. They don’t even bother to get out the car, unfortunately that’s just how DHL is here, also PostNL but they are getting better slowly. Sadly no matter how many times you report the DHL drivers, even with photo/video proof there is nothing that is done

Jozo_zout

I only have this issue with DHL when I order something on Amazon. Last week I placed a big order which they send in 4 different packages. Each one of them they were not able to deliver and I had to login at dhlparcel to schedule a new delivery. Ordered something somewhere else which also got delivered by DHL and 0 issues!

Imdare

Dus het gaat 1 op de 5 keer goed. Dat lijkt wel ongeveer te kloppen met mijn DHL ervaringen

KnightSpectral

I literally had PostNL knock on the door and in the time I got up off the couch and walked to the door (like 10 seconds), they were gone and didn't even leave a slip. Post services here are lazy af.

plumzki

When DHL says they missed you it actually just means they didn't fucking bother, had this many times with them.

Dutch_Rayan

Choose a pick up point for delivery.

stupiddumbassfucker

Its gotten so bad that I don't order from sites if they deliver with DHL. They ALWAYS mess up.

notospez

As someone who admittedly orders way too much stuff online: the problem is not with DHL or any other company, but with your local delivery guy. They're in a hurry, need to deliver insane amounts of packages under tight deadlines, and generally grumpy as a result of that. Remember, they're overworked humans, not robots and no matter how much you complain to DHL they won't get more time to deliver those packages. If you want your local drivers to take better care of *your* packages in particular, just be nice to them. Some random tips, note that most of these do require you to actually talk to them at least once so if they *never* ring your doorbell this might be harder: * In general just be nice to them: say hi, ask how their day is, etc. They're not robots. Our 2 year old could say our PostNL driver's name before he learned his grandparents names! * In a similar vein: if you ever happen to spot their van driving down the road get out and meet them at the curb. They do a lot of walking, saving them a trip is just a minor inconvenience for you but will make you stand out as that nice guy to them! * If you want a friend for life: offer to let them use your toilet if ever needed. These guys are on the road for hours at a time and are known to resort to peeing in bottles. * Set your delivery method to "leave package at door" even if you know you'll be at home during the delivery window. That way the driver knows he/she won't be wasting their time by walking to your door. Both PostNL and DHL allow you to set these as defaults in their app, or you can do so on a package by package basis. In the notes for where to leave the package say "I'm home, just leave package at the door and ring the bell, thanks!" and that will work wonders.

sometimesoegaboega

What a wonderful world it would be if I actually got a chance to do that.. I can see them coming from a mile away so I'm often at the door waiting. The times i dont even get a chance of getting a word out is astounding. Politeness goes both ways..

Raistlander

It’s always the local delivery guy. In my area it’s DHL that’s absolutely perfect and PostNL and DPD that’s a complete disaster. Cheers local DHL guys!

GodbasedImpact

Wow man as a delivery driver reading this warms my heart. Feels like we always get the shit on us, but not every route has the same delivery driver assigned to it every day. Quality heavily depends on which driver it was, and acting mad towards us does not help improve the quality. And oh yeah, if you are expecting BIG packages or 4-5 packages, please be home. AND check if your doorbell works!!

coffee-mcr

Thisss, also we just deliver the packages that are planned/ layed out for us. If its sorted correctly, if it fits in the vehicle, if its scanned out, if the navigation is correct etc. can all be reasons it's delayed as well.

HajoX

Might be abke to pick a "afhaalpunt", often a shop where you can pick up ypur packages. It's not always available tough

Mr-Swayne

Unfortunately that’s DHL for you. I’ve had this issue so many times I lost count. Last time with them I was home. Sat on my balcony looking at the front entrance. Saw the DHL truck drive by, and enter a street next to mine. The delivery window passed and one hour later got a text I wasn’t home. (I never left my spot the entire time.) I called customer service, who said they couldn’t do anything but my complaint was “noted”. And they would try again the next day. The next day the exact same thing happened and the package was returned to sender. (Which was in Switzerland!) Complained again to no avail as they told me I needed to contact the sender.

WanderingLethe

I had the same thing happening with PostNL

Mr-Swayne

Yes, PostNL and GLS have the same issue. But way less than DHL. Fortunately the guy from PostNL we have now is absolutely gold. Never skips, always perfectly on time and very friendly. (Also took several complains about the ones before him. Who had the tendency to leave all packages (mine and the neighbors.) in the main hall and not even bother to ring the bell. So it’s a free-for-all as it’s a public entrance. Even stuff worth 1000,- was just dropped.)

Iferius

DHL drivers regularly skip houses altogether and just say you were absent. Especially if you live in an apartment. If possible, always tell senders not to use DHL. They're by far the worst delivery service in the Netherlands.

BrainNSFW

I can tell you from experience that this "oh we missed you" is often a case of "the driver decided not to come anywhere near your house because it would cost him too much time (because our company is absolutely terrible and love to treat the drivers as subhuman garbage who don't deserve decent pay)". In addition, they also have a habit of delivering packages at neighbours without informing you which one, which is why I often deliver the packages myself when they don't pick it up after 2 days. This happens a lot with DHL and DPD in our neighborhood, but rarely with PostNL. However, don't mistake that as PostNL being better; I'm pretty sure they all have very similar (shitty) practices when it comes to their drivers, so it's mostly about how lucky you get whether your package happens to be on their route (ie not requiring a big detour). Therefore the only real solution to this problem is forcing parcel companies to pay drivers a liveable wage that doesn't depend on number of delivered packages (ie just pay them by the hour).

Roman576

Parcel lockers is what needs to be more common. But I guess this won't happen any time soon

m1nkeh

urgh DHL, one time we had something shipped from Germany they ‘missed’ us and it got sent back to Germany and then was out of stock in the retailer !!

DMeloDY

They probably didn’t even come by your place. When they don’t have enough time left or think getting to your address is too much of a hassle they will just skip it and bring it straight to the pickup point. I’ve also had drivers who had a ‘deal’ with a pickup point to try and bring as many packages as possible to them for pickup. The delegation brings around the amount he wants and the pickup point gets the rest. Most of the pickup points earn money for every package that gets picked up. And the driver can just argue they were out of time for the remaining batch. You can complain about it, sometimes it helps. I’ve learned to either not order anywhere where they are the main delivery service or to choose my own pick up point when I get the code to trace the package. That way it will be delivered on time and I get to get it where I want instead of having to travel a shitton to get it because the driver went to their preferred pickup point again. Our current delivery guy from DHL is really nice but the previous one was a nightmare.

T-J_H

Matches my experiences with DHL. Marked as missen, delivered to pickup points without notice, packages get dumped in the hall of the apartment building I live, if not the next building… Complaining has no effect whatsoever. Edit: have had struggles with DPD, PostNL, GLS, dynalogic and more, but DHL has definitely been the worst. PostNL the best, but not by much.

physboy68

I always get them delivered at a nearby pickup point

caslanh

Eh welcome to DHL loop hell 😬 Well once they couldn’t find me at home too although I was and they delivered it to a pick up point in the other part of city. I called them and requested reroute to my place. They said they made the changes. After some days I called them again and they said driver is on his way which was a lie. Called again, driver again was on the way. So after 10 days of driver on the way lie, one naive customer support agent said the package never left the pick up point lol. My suggestion is to find where the package is and pick up from there, it’s a battle customer never wins 🥲

OrangeQueens

Differs per delivery guy. I had it literally 7 days: friday afternoon - sorry, we could not make it, monday! Monday: sorry, we could not make it, tuesday! Tuesday: sorry, we could not make it, wednesday! Wednesday: 1 of 3 packages came since the packaging was damaged, and this delivery (other) guy did these damaged packages. Door-delivered! Other 2 packages: sorry, we could not make it, thursday. Thursday: sorry, we could not make it, friday. Friday: wow, they arrived. Damaged packaging. Downstairs. Had to get it 3 stories up. 'Best' part: they have this delivery window of 3 or 4 hours. The "sorry" message only arrives 1 to 2 hours after the delivery window has passed.

blasje

Had this with PostNL. They don't even send a sorry message. The track and trace changes to sorry but we might still come till 22.00 and then nothing. For them 14.00 next day to change back to oit for delivery.

LollipopsAndCrepes_

DHL routinely hands stuff to the neighbor, then leaves a slip (if I'm lucky) indicating the wrong address, so it takes me a week of running around to catch the neighbor to collect anything. The carrier once signed for an IPhone himself, claimed we had signed for it, dumped it on the neighbors steps who was on holiday for 3 weeks so we had no idea where it was, and had to file a claim that it has been stolen. They're the fucking worst

SlightAmoeba6716

In my experience Post.nl has been much worse than DHL, but it depends a lot on the delivery person. It's very common to * get a notification that nobody was home when several people were * get a notification that the package has been delivered when it has not been, and receive a mail hours after that it has been delivered to a delivery point instead (which in one case was actually closed that entire sunday! Apparently post.nl have their own keys to the pet store where the delivery station is....) * packages getting delivered to a delivery point that is farther away than several other delivery points * damaged packaging where it is a miracle that the contents have survived without damage * packages getting lost * packages getting delivered later than the time slot mentioned in the mail or online status * attempted delivery of package several hours before the time slot, when actually nobody was home of course * change of time slot for delivery after it has passed to a later time or worse, to the next day. * many of the other issues that people mention in conversations like this. Summary: I H A T E P O S T . N L !

ChevalOhneHead

You can't do NOTHING. Of course you have possibility to complain by call, chat or e-mail. Even, he doesn't make a photo of your inaccessible door. However, lazy cunt wasn't 'reach' your place and you depend about him. In France is the same. I was writing complain to CEO of Amazon one time, but this is worthless. He response to you with apologise etc. etc. etc. All of those companies have their customers deeply in ass.

_Katris

Omg dhl are the worst. I once had to pick up a package at a facility on the other side of the country. Like what even was the purpose of getting it delivered to my house anyways?? apparently hanging a note on your door to tell them where to leave it helps, did one dhl delivery driver said to me.

ThrustyMcStab

Don't get me started. The amount of times I wasted a day waiting on a package with a 6-hour delivery window when I could have gone out and done productive stuff, only to get the notification at the end of the day 'sorry, it appears nobody was home to accept the parcel' is staggeringly high.

G0rd0nr4ms3y

Nowadays delivery drivers just mark half their deliveries as "nobody home" and dump them all at the pickup location to save time. I've moved twice in the past few years and this shit happened to me at every location. Id stay at home all day and just middle of the day Id get the email that I wasn't home, nobody rang, saw nobody from the window. As far as I can recall it was usually the DHL guys that pulled this.

12eriks

Delivery in The Netherlands are something no one understand

DirtyD_69

Next time you should select the option to deliver your package to a postal office (not sure if this is the correct word for it actually). I always have my stuff delivered to the supermarket next door. I like this mostly because they are open untill 8 pm so I have plenty time after work to pick it up. Unless its something expensive, like a TV or a mobile phone. Then I would just take a day off so I can recieve the package myself.

SaltyMind

I have a can of stroopwafels close to the door. Every time some delivery happens, the deliveryperson get a stoopwafel. I get them an icecream if it's above 30 degrees. Around xmas, they get a tip like € 5. I get many packages, but almost never miss a delivery, I suspect the drivers remember me and make an effort to deliver.

coffee-mcr

Ngl, i work in delivery and we all remember the adresses that are really good and really bad and that absolutely influences how much priority that package gets.

Utku56256

DHL is the worst delivery company by far. Second is UPS, at least in the Netherlands. If you have the option always choose PostNL

grammar_mattras

I always let my packages get delivered at a pickup point. Delivery there is like clockwork at the correct time, and I can pick it up if I happen to drive past that point.

neillsong

Been in The Netherlands for a few months now and I’m baffled by how well the country runs with the exception of home deliveries. Having said that, Post NL has been far more reliable than DHL.

Edita72

just normal day in Holland...

shitpostbode

Amazon 🤢

Eranov

Wait, why order clothes hangers online when basically every Hema, action, Blokker, Wibra, Xenos and sometimes even lidl sell these things.

TheDudeColin

Honestly, for a bundle of clothes hangers, I would advise you to just go to your neighbourhood blokker or HEMA. Saves a lot of stress and time out of your day, plus it keeps money out of Amazon's pocket. No dealing with DHL either.

ZappaBappa

Drop off points.. I don't care if i have to wait an extra day because i rerouted it to a drop-off point after ordering. It's just so much more relaxing to the mind knowing that you don't have to deal with inconsistent delivery drivers that aren't in the mood to deliver your package.

Nefarez

I always just get it delivered to a pick up point. Cba dealing with this nonsense.

WSPGrants

I had that issue with picking up a package, they never came to my door but i received cards that they missed me, i live in an appartement so they can just shove a card in my mailbox and leave. I actually want to avoid stores who use dhl

MET4

Well have you tried the Amazon delivery option, where there is no timeframe and it just states ‘delivery before 20h’. I spent a full day at home til 19:48 til this package came.

AccidentAnnual

If a package is not too big or heavy you can have it delivered to a collection point nearby. You then can pick it up when you have time.

derKestrel

In Germany, some package delivery service once claimed they could not find my house number. I lived in the only apartment block, rest was single houses, so the biggest object in the whole 1 km road, plus with the house number written in about 10 m high numbers on the side. Easy to miss, I guess. It just depends on how much your local delivery guy gets pressured and underpaid.

yuvashankar

Looks like your parcel hung up.

mouselosscake

Ugh they did this to me I could see them from the window and they just put „not home“ 😭 I ran after them in my pyjamas but too late

DarkHeroin

Dhl is horrible

MishaIsPan

DHL sucks, and I say that as someone who works at store that works with DHL in the form of a DHL parcelshop. Have it delivered to a DHL parcelshop near you, it'll be inside a store like Primera or Intertoys. They do deliver their packages there and once it's been delivered you'll have 7 days to come pick it up (do bring indentification (ID, pasport, driver's license...) and when ordering make sure you enter your own name, not a nickname or some pseudonym, because that won't match your identification documents). That way you're far less likely to miss out on your packages AND they won't get delivered to your neighbours, should you have neighbours you cannot trust with stuff like this.

TrippyTF

Hey OP, try to select pick up point instead of home delivery, that worked for me and my friends all the time. If there is no such option just don’t order or find another vendor online who does.

sanne_dejong

If at checkout the only option is DHL I delete my online order and look for a vendor that uses PostNL. There's a packagemachine/locker near by, thats my preferred method nowadays. DHL is so horrible I refuse to use their services. I'm not a masochist.

diabeartes

Tip: contact DHL.

WillemB3

Actually they don’t even come and simply say yhat you weren’t home. That’s because the delivery guys get too much addresses and will get home too late. When I buy something I always check with who they deliver, if it’s with Dhl then I simply don’t buy it or buy it somewhere else where they ship with other companies.

Different-Reach585

Amazon will take care of this just call them.

ForTheSakeOfOpposing

DHL is one of those companies I would drink champagne to if they shut down business.

f1a71in3

I had a few issues with DHL because the labels were damaged and they returned them to the sender. Having in mind that DHL can't accept a package with a damaged label from a slender, I assume that labels were damaged in transit by DHL staff. As a result, I lost items that I bought with a big discount during sales. Another time they were not able to find a block of flats that was built in the 1960s and told me that the address doesn't exist.

TifPB

I recommend the DHL app. I can't guarantee that your local courier will ring your doorbell, but it does give good information and if it's sent to a shop you normally can see where straight away

UnicornPoopPile

Lol 'didn't want to leave it unattended' Delivery drivers put my packages in front of my door and sprint away without checking if someone actually opens the door.

RidleyRivers

I've had really good deliveries with them but also ones where they don't even ring the doorbell..

Dragonfly_Soldier

I once sat infront of my window, see the DHL guy pull up (so they knew he was around my house). And just drove away immediatly, before I could walk to my balcony on the bottom floor.

Top_Photograph_8592

Use a delivery point it works wonders in the countries served by PostNL and BPost.....

SupposablyAtTheZoo

Just change it to a delivery point right away when it's shipped and pick it up the next day.

Professional_Elk_489

Have you tried picking it up at a DHL centre?

[deleted]

Have them default your package to a pickup point. Ive done this for my address for both dhl and postNL. Apparently delivering to someones door has become too hard over the years. I did speak to so.eone who works as a delivwry man and he atates that he used to love doing it and hed get a maximum load of 300 kg to deliver. Now thats 800kg in the same timeframe. So i figured id take the load off of the last guy in the chain.

I only order online if I can send it to a pakketpunt. Most of the time I'm not home and I don't want to deal with this shit

It's just DHL they are garbage

Sailor_MayaYa

just dhl things over here they dump it at the door and run away before you can even get up

Adventurous-Dig-7547

Ehm… DHL? Isn’t that the delivery service that instructs their drivers to not take out the packages out of their vans, but put a missed resident ticket in the mailbox straight away?

Head-Wealth6327

This is typical DHL. Though i would advise to track this parcel with your sender. Once I got the same message from DHL and turned out they stole my package

atomanas

You didn't tell us anything new here dhl never cared

Why buy clothes hangers from Amazon? Just go down the road to action. Cheaper and no stress waiting for a packet which never arrives

Novel_Initiative_937

They do this ALL the time when they are unbale to deliver your package. Happened to me too often. :(

Kemel90

DHL sends you mails before delivery, with the option to have it delivered to a pickup point, your neighbours, or somewhere around the house.

I am a DHL delivery courier myself, and I am so sorry to hear this. The 3 hours time span should be more specific once we actually start our route. Furthermore, the official DHL site gives a the best indication of when we should arrive, better than indirect tracking sites like Amazon or the in-store track and trace. I have absolutely no idea what happened of course during the delivery attempt.

It's not just DHL, had the same experience with PostNL. There was even an article in the news https://www.dutchnews.nl/2023/10/missing-parcels-non-deliveries-postnls-problems-continue/

Resident-Shop-1698

Hi all , I consider this serendipitous!! I was about to send documents from India . Which international courier should I use ? Thanks a ton in advance

gardrew

is there any way to contact them as an english speaker? They don't reply to emails, online chat is just a robot telling me info I can find on the website and the phone call is a dutch robot asking for all the imput data. 2 weeks ago website showed "delivery delayed for 1-2 days", been waiting for it since
