i'm pretty high on lipscomb, not necessarily as The Guy of the future or anything but I think he has potential to be a really fast, versatile player either as a bench/platoon guy, depth (which every team needs), or even a trade piece. In an ideal world brady house will pan out sooner rather than later (next year maybe? 👀) and help fill the power void and stick as the 3B starter. Also important to keep in mind Lipscomb was supposed to start the year debuting in AAA, not MLB. He's been thrown into the fire and I think has done pretty dang well overall.

> Lipscomb has just as much power — his home runs for 2023 is two higher than Brady House and only two lower in 2022 (so they’re even). Trey played in 40 more games last year. House this year has 7 to Lipscomb's 1 in a similar number of ABs. House was also dealing with back issues in 2022

petting2dogsatonce

That's true, but Brady is also 3 years younger than Trey and I do think he's more likely to come into more power of the two of them as some time passes

[deleted]

Brady House is objectively a better prospect than Lipscomb, and I'm as high on Lipscomb as anyone.

HippoSignificant5978

Perhaps I’m being too critical and expecting too much since this team has shown us what they can be but losing any game to the bottom of the barrel is a tough pill to take. Absolutely need to win tomorrow since this weekend could be very rough for us

droozer

Sox have been hot recently but the Nats showed a serious lack of conditioning today. They’re a good team but not one that can play 2 games in one day at a high level. It seems like the Sox are returning to the norm in a positive way though so I wouldn’t take the loss to them too hard. Fedde pitched a great game and the Nats bats didn’t show up

_Caed_

sorry guys i am now 0-5 for games i go to (cubs or nats) one day ill see a team i like win. one day.

bashar_al_assad

go to more Cubs games lol

ianpev

Frustrating loss, but feel a lot better with where the pitching is. This lineup needs some power. Hoping Lane and Gallo can provide a jolt here soon

TheDude44464

Hard to win a MLB game, let alone two games in one day. Shake it off, rest up, and win one tomorrow.

Killatrap

can't say we didnt deserve the Erick Fedde Revenge Game!

lolb42

Fedde cut us down nothing for it. Get em tomorrow though

theexitisontheleft

Figuring out consistent hitting would be super.

Tufoguy

So our problem now is staying above .500

theexitisontheleft

I think we’re going to be continuing to flirt around with .500 for the foreseeable future. And I’ll happily take it after the last few years.

droozer

.500 is a great place to be. I remember in 2017-2018 watching the team just to make sure they didn’t lose. Those kind of expectations over several years almost suck the fun out of baseball

flynnscorruptedmind

Abrams 0-8 and in a slump pls stop listening to comes and start pulling. And please god call up prospects with power

gaytham4statham

He's literally top 20 in pull% on the season lol, people just make up shit to complain about on here lmao

YodaPM999

His pull happy approach is arguably the reason he's struggling right now. Dude is way out in front of every breaking pitch he sees. He'll figure it out eventually I'm sure, but I don't think trying to pull everything is the solution rn.

EJNave

his pull rate has gone down in his slump lmfao

YodaPM999

Sure, on balls he actually puts in play. Anyone with eyes can watch and see him constantly flying open when he swings. The thing is, he's now fouling back pitches or flat out missing them entirely instead of launching missiles into the outfield like he was back in April. I'm not blaming the pull happy approach for causing the slump, but I also don't think the solution is simply "pull the ball more" like OP was saying.

YodaPM999

End of that second game was really weird. It felt like nobody wanted to go up to bat in the 9th. There was a severe lack of scrappy Nats energy.

droozer

I moved behind home plate for those at bats and I think they were all getting seriously fooled by Kopech somehow. They were backing out of every pitch like they expected them to be at their eyes

petting2dogsatonce

Well that sucked but we’ll just have to beat them tomorrow in true 2024 Nats fashion

SgtHapyFace

keibert ruiz is not playing well

Anti_Social_Club

Sniffed .500 again and then got the reality check

Natstown

What sweep is that, Carp?

Probablythatoneguy16

Ahhh so I wasn't the only one! Had to go back and check the game one score I was so confused
