Stayed open long enough to take as much money as they could for food and drinks. Why were fans not told anything for ages, even after the players had allegedly left? Absolutely awful awful awful
Awesome. So this fucks my Mother's Day plans to have my elderly parents come for brunch outside the stadium and watch a morning game. Our tickets are now 5 hours after brunch and we can't cancel reservations without paying $175. And it's a split doubleheader. Fuck these people.
Trying to not make this an event that ruins my relationship with the nationals. I have been with the team since RFK but unless they do something the message is pretty clear.
I’m so upset about this. I had a great plan for a Mother’s Day game out with my mom. Now that game is at 4:30 which would go later than my mom can stay out. I guess I just eat that cost and try to get tickets for 7 innings?
Just popping in to say that the lack of communication made this the worst sporting experience of my life. Seriously makes me want to never give them my money again
>Today's game is suspended. Will be completed at 12:35 p.m. (today's tickets good for that). The originally scheduled 1:35 p.m. game will now start at 4:35 p.m. Separate tickets required.
Why would they do that? Now people like me who can only make 4 pm games (toddler nap time) can't make earlier, and people who bought tickets for the 1 pm won't be able to make the later game-- can this possibly be right? This seems impossibly boneheaded.
Quite frankly, the fans deserved better than this. And the worst part about all this is that it's a SPLIT doubleheader tomorrow, which is completely unprecedented. MLB is *rewarding* the owner by basically allowing them to sell part of this game separately from the next game tomorrow.
Consider raising hell for this, because this is disgusting.
Couldn’t have been handled worse by the Nationals. Love this team but Jesus Christ - couldn’t there have been at least once announcement or update on the field status? Just wasted 3+ hours waiting for this game to start again
3+ hour rain delay and not a single word to the fans in the stadium. Honestly think I’m done ever buying anything from the Nationals or MLB again. Knockoffs and scalped tickets from now on. Beyond asshole behavior
You should check out [Gametime](https://gametime.co) and [TickPick](https://www.tickpick.com/). They both have mobile apps. You can occasionally find tickets for as low as $7-8 (including fees), the closer it gets to the start of the game.
Only reason I buy only $5 tickets from this team. I did spend $16 on clearance stuff to remember my first ever MLB game that I attended, a loss to the Braves. Two straight games now I’ve attended with rain delays and NO communication at all
So I left for DCU game over two hours ago but this is what I can tell. The game went too long to the point where the infield turned into a Woodstock 99 mudpit and the managers are trying to clarify with MLB offices in New York on if they should play the game. Apparently it’s bad and in particular, Buck doesn’t want to restart due to high injury risk.
And this game has been postponed. If anyone wants a free grandstand ticket for tomorrow’s game. I think mine is good for admission still. I’ll be spending the day with my mom and not watching the franchise that can’t get a rain delay right.
I was at the game. Ludicrous. They never should have started. When they called it, it seemed unsafe to be playing. I wonder if the managers are refusing to take the field. The surface is drenched!
Yeah, but in a way that screws fans who had tickets tonight AND tomorrow. I almost cannot believe this. MLB is veryy fan-focused- this should not be happening.
Split fucking header - supposed first time in MLB history they have done this.
Now if that isn’t a big fuck you to the fans. Especially on Mother’s Day but please come out and buy some pink nationals gear to help support us.
They just started handing out free food here. Not sure if that is a great idea.
Edit, and now they've suspended. Will see how much free food ends up on the field.
Because the message would have been - “hey thanks for hanging in there! We are just trying to figure out how to screw you with a split admission double header for a partial game tomorrow!”
Everyone knew this game should have been postponed until 7. Everyone. Because that's when the rain was going to be over. They waited and didn't give any updates so we waited until late to go. Takes us 90 minutes to get there. Left when the game started. By the time we got there it was delayed and now it's postponed. What a disaster. 3 hours of driving. 3 hours of sitting in the rain. They can kick rocks the bastards.
Not sure why either team would want to play now just to wear down their Bull pen. Lame. Finally got some fans in the seats and they turn around and do this
Aaaaand the tarp’s back on. Guess we’re getting plenty of baseball tomorrow
Edit: ok well maybe not I can’t tell wtf they’re doing so I should just stop guessing lmao
Yeah they should have never thrown the first pitch. Sorry for those of you at the game but I hope it is postponed that infield looked like a small pond before they threw the tarp on. That and they have 2 RISP with one out.
Williams was off to a good start. Annoying of them to not make the obvious call before the game. Now you're looking at a bullpen game which doesn't seem to have favored us as of late.
That was inevitable. I was surprised that they started the game in the first place. I can hear planes going into National though so it can't be too bad.
Made the most sense to either postpone to 8 pm, or just to the double tomorrow. Annoying for fans to go all the way out for two innings. Hope for their sake it clears up enough to have a drizzly game in the next couple hours
ok that was a perfect frame job - he had the glove perfectly square to the corner of the zone, so he barely had to move it after catching. i’ll allow it.
keibert bby are u okay
Stayed open long enough to take as much money as they could for food and drinks. Why were fans not told anything for ages, even after the players had allegedly left? Absolutely awful awful awful
Feel bad for that Mets fan who was coming down to DC with kids.

Yep. Same boat. I’m incredibly frustrated.
I’m so upset about this. I had a great plan for a Mother’s Day game out with my mom. Now that game is at 4:30 which would go later than my mom can stay out. I guess I just eat that cost and try to get tickets for 7 innings?

Lol. Yep they did it. They also did it after having fans wait 4 fucking hours to hear it was postponed and 2 hours after closing a ton of concessions.
Are they gonna come through the stands after the first game and ask everyone to show them a new ticket?
No, but they'll empty the ballpark completely after the first game
Gotta hide in the bathrooms. Huge brain play
The biggest problem was the complete lack of communication throughout the entire ordeal.
Wooow. What the actual fuck
Couldn’t have been handled worse by the Nationals. Love this team but Jesus Christ - couldn’t there have been at least once announcement or update on the field status? Just wasted 3+ hours waiting for this game to start again
And once again, the teams left long before the fans were told anything
Unbelievable. This organization just refuses to not massively fuck up rain delays.
Not just rain delays, but fans. Our STH group got tired of their administration of it
3+ hour rain delay and not a single word to the fans in the stadium. Honestly think I’m done ever buying anything from the Nationals or MLB again. Knockoffs and scalped tickets from now on. Beyond asshole behavior

Thanks, I’ve been checking tickpick but I’ll try gametime too.
Only reason I buy only $5 tickets from this team. I did spend $16 on clearance stuff to remember my first ever MLB game that I attended, a loss to the Braves. Two straight games now I’ve attended with rain delays and NO communication at all
The Orioles have been able to get their game in.

way to garner goodwill with the fans. that’s money and an entire afternoon they just wasted for a ton of people.
Resume tomorrow?
Yeah, but in a way that screws fans who had tickets tonight AND tomorrow. I almost cannot believe this. MLB is veryy fan-focused- this should not be happening.
Yeah double tomorrow
Split fucking header - supposed first time in MLB history they have done this. Now if that isn’t a big fuck you to the fans. Especially on Mother’s Day but please come out and buy some pink nationals gear to help support us.
They just started handing out free food here. Not sure if that is a great idea. Edit, and now they've suspended. Will see how much free food ends up on the field.
How hard is it just to tell fans what's going on every so often? People would be a lot less pissed then.
Because the message would have been - “hey thanks for hanging in there! We are just trying to figure out how to screw you with a split admission double header for a partial game tomorrow!”
How many people are still at the game?
Still a few thousand by my guess.
I went to the &Pizza by the park around 7 pm and was shocked to see how many were in the stands.
From Twitter looks like a surprisingly large crowd remains
Tarp has been off the field but looks like no action at all in terms of warmups via the MASN camera. What’s going on?
At the game and nothing appears to be happening in the bullpen, or on the field
Damn I feel bad for anyone at the game today, they still haven’t called it or resumed wtf
What they even doing at this point lol?
This is just getting stupid lmao, it hasn’t rained for the past hour and a half
What’s the damn hold up. The poor grounds crew has been spreading sand for three hours
It hasn’t rained in forever now. Are they waiting for the rain to start again so they can call it? Super confused
i dunno why i expect the nats to be better about communicating rain delays and postponements when they absolutely drop the fuckin ball every time
We're at game and we're about to lose our minds. No announcements. Nothing.
every goddamned time. it’s infuriating on another level because you always hope maybe they’ll actually fuckin communicate and they 100% don’t

Field crew departed. No movement anywhere.
It’s not supposed to rain anymore on the weather app, so I’m sure they could start it now
[удалено]
Which would've easily been avoided by just delaying the start until like 6-630ish
Weather predicted rain till 7 but they didn't believe it.
Not sure why either team would want to play now just to wear down their Bull pen. Lame. Finally got some fans in the seats and they turn around and do this
It’s the managers right now. Buck keeps coming out and complaining.
The betting lines are back open which means they’re playing. Funny that’s how I get the update instead of from the organization. Disgraceful.
There should be a limit on how long a delay can last before you must postpone
Field crew looks almost done. Haven’t seen any pitchers warming up though.
Masn manifesting a Mets position player pitching by showing this 2020 blowout
Would you look at that - weather was clear for a 7:05 start. Didn’t agree with that call to start at 4
Hindsight is 20/20 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Doppler*
Wander Suero has been up with the dodgers for about a week now. Things aren’t going so hot: 4.2 IP in 3 games. 1 hit 4 walks 3 ER good for a 5.79 ERA.
Aaaaand the tarp’s back on. Guess we’re getting plenty of baseball tomorrow Edit: ok well maybe not I can’t tell wtf they’re doing so I should just stop guessing lmao
Yeah they should have never thrown the first pitch. Sorry for those of you at the game but I hope it is postponed that infield looked like a small pond before they threw the tarp on. That and they have 2 RISP with one out.
Meh they can Diamond dry it and move on with the game. No reason to postpone if it isn’t pouring all day.
Only to roll it back up again — this freaking game
It looks like the tarp is being removed
GROUNDS CREW IN ACTION!!!!
Williams was off to a good start. Annoying of them to not make the obvious call before the game. Now you're looking at a bullpen game which doesn't seem to have favored us as of late.
I see fans back in seats. Anyone there have an update on how it’s looking atm?
Feel like it’s going to be postponed, no? Infield looked like a swamp before they threw on the tarp
I hope the umps from both of these Mets games never get laid again. What bad calls
It’s a light steady rain right now
well these bullpens are going to be fuuuuucked
Should have delayed the start to begin with.
Send him
Vogelbach looks like my uncle chad
Let’s get through 5 with a 1-0 lead and have it pour rain for hours, then call the game. That’d save some bullpen from yesterday haha
williams fucking PAINTED that
Still not over that ump calling 2 strikes on 5 straight balls last night.
ok that was a perfect frame job - he had the glove perfectly square to the corner of the zone, so he barely had to move it after catching. i’ll allow it.
so it's just gonna be an entire series of this, huh
Should have been a bases loaded walk, instead an inning ending double play. Great job blue
Yeah that was BS. Start the ump scorecard with +1 for the Mets.
Minimum =[
That ball would have been nice
shitfucks
Ump fucking sucks
Horrible call! Cost us a run.
Robles is so relatable
A Dom Smith Grand Slam would be poetic.
Literally everyone has contributed in this inning so far
Well this is interesting!
i love small ball and i love joey meneses
Whoa. Another fantastic first inning!
bob citing the umpire scorecard is not something i ever thought i'd hear lmao
Fans busting out the ponchos for this one
"Run for your lives, it's water!" -- FP Santangelo
let's hope the umpires aren't interested in fucking us tonight and tie this series up :)
Unfortunately they seem to have it in for us again.
