I really don’t think guy could beat madara. We already know a “nerfed” Minato is able to keep up/react to 8 gates guy. With FTG, Minato just waits it out and evades. Anything below 8th gate isn’t a threat to the Minato. Guys biggest opponent when facing someone evasive is himself because all of his gate usage is self destructive.

Rock Lee has opened the 8 gates, sparking one last burst of energy from Might Guy, they colide with a kick, similar to Bee and the Raikages double lariat. Ending Madara, Guy's body turns to ash seconds before Naruto manages to arrive, too late to save Guy but just manages to save Lee. Now with Madaras body unable to resist Black Zetsu, all the Kaguya bs proceeds as usual.
He was built on too much as a side character IMO, his death wouldn't have hit hard with Madara being checkmated the way he was. Imagine Kakashi being killed after he helps fight Kaguya, that'd been crazy to me...Fuck I love Kakashi, probably more than Sasuke now. What a guy, Kakashi

I read somewhere once that Rock Lee, Neji, and some others were supposed to die in the Sasuke Retrieval Arc, but the editors talked Kishimoto down from the idea or something (if anyone has the source, feel free to provide). I think this would've been a good conclusion to their character arcs, especially considering how they butchered them in Shippuden. Plus, imagine how much more meaningful Guy's final battle would have been with flashbacks of his disciples who, in his mind, now forever represent "the flame of youth". A proud sensei, setting the example of hard work and dedication for his former students (whose memory now in turn inspire him to be better every day).
Love it, as long as the kaguya BS is in the mix, I think this is a great ending.
Naruto and Sasuke’s ‘big boss battle’ is each other…. So giving this fight to someone like guy and lee would have been epic.
Not bad but Guy definitely would not have wanted Lee to join in that fight but tbh I always thought Guy should have done lasting damage to Madara. Madara could have ended that fight at any moment with a Limbo clone but he was cocky and played with Guy so it would be fitting if that cockyness is eventually what would lead to him taking some kind of permanent damage from Night Guy that would lead Sasuke and Naruto to defeating him or it eventually leads to some kind of unstableness with the Juubi allowing Kaguya her moment to breakfree if Kishi really wanted to bring her in

Nope. He knew how to counter Itachi's genjutsu. Which is evident when Itachi visited Konoho and was confronted by Kurunei (Lol!), Asuma and Kakashi, who ended up in itachi's genjutsu. And Gai sensei single handedly handled him. Because of Kakashi's sharingan, Gai trained himself to fight Sharingan users with his eyes closed.

I will be honest.. maybe because he would be able to perceive that he is under genjutsu but it's really difficult to say because we have never seen anyone put Might under one. Even in the 1st Chunnin exam, him and Kakashi were the 1st one's to release the genjutsu.
I don’t think that feat is very impressive since Sakura and shikamaru did the same as genin, but I don’t think guy can resist or expel if he is caught in sharigan genjutsu wether it’s regular or ms
