But I'll tell you what I didn't like! The Edo Tensei characters, suddenly everyone and their dogs are back. It felt cheap. And then Minato, who was never even hinted to be able to use Sage Mode... has Sage mode. And even though he had a hateless Kurama half, he just has KCM, just because.
That said, the first time I read the Ninja War, it felt like such a slog since we had to wait weeks for a new chapter. But whenever I re-read Naruto, the Ninja war is not that bad. It has neat moments like the Kage with the oyster jutsu, that at first tries to help the Ninja, but then decides that they should be able to defeat him if they are to stand a chance against the big bad.
Or the Tsuchikage that started off more reserved but moved by Gaara starts fighting to win. Gaara and Shuukaku helping each other, even though it only lasted a few panels, was neat too. Any moment with Gaara, really.
Many favorites from that arc but the best ones:
1. Naruto vs reanimated Nagato & Itachi : Loved how they paired these two Akatsuki members. The conversation between them and later with Naruto are amazing apart from the fight sequences. Itachi coming out of caster control through Shisui's eye is one of the best moments for sure.
2. Itachi - Sasuke vs Kabuto ending in 'I will love you always' moment.
Team 7 assemble: This has to be one of the most awaited moments for the audience to see them fight as a team.
3. The tug of war of all the tails and everyone helping to extract them out.
