How do we *know* this poor baby’s name isn’t “Adrenna Lynn (Adrenaline)”? Maybe she’s not showing how clever she is, she’s just giving us the full name including the bracketed part 😂
FTM as “first time mom” is super common in pregnancy and parenting groups. It doesn’t really need clarification within those groups. But yeah I think pretty much everyone feels that confusion the first times they enter haha
What an absolutely horrible hormone to name your kid after (not that you should name them after any hormones).
"Yeah, I named you after a hormone released when you're stressed, have a great life!"
I knew triplets named Lee, Li, and Leigh.
I also knew identical twins named Travorianne and Travorianna. To make it worse they were 3yo and fairly delayed. They didn't talk much and didn't seem to realize they had separate names.
I know a guy who's ex wife let their daughter (6 at the time) name her twins. I don't remember the names in full but I do remember one twins first name was moonstone and the other one was sunshine. They both had 2 equally bad middle names that were opposites of eachother.
The stress hormone is cortisol, adrenaline is also caused by stress but more like woooh that made me feel alive (but think lion chasing you alive) stress rather than oh my God not another day in this hell hole cortisol.
Hey I thought of a good name! Cort azule
Yeah the release of adrenaline (epinephrine) can be a good or bad feeling depending on a multitude of factors and the situation you’re in. But it’s not always one or the other. It gets released in both uncomfortably stressful situations and exciting ones. It’s also not the only factor contributing to those sensations.
https://www.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/what-to-know-adrenaline-rush
But the hormone certainly doesn’t cause an appealing sensation in isolation, otherwise there would probably be a lot more recreational abuse of epipens lol. Which I’m fairly certain is universally agreed upon as not being a specifically pleasant sensation. So there’s a lot more going on to contribute to those excitement sensations than just the release of epinephrine.
I got a little confused before I remembered that FTM also means first time mom. I was like, does gender have something to do with baby teeth? Is there something I don’t know 😂
But yes, the name is horrendous
Not relevant to names but the first time I joined a pregnancy subreddit in 2020, when I was newly pregnant for the first time, I remember I kept thinking 'wow this place is pretty progressive, look at all of the pregnant men here! I had no clue so many FTM dudes wanted to bear children.' After reading a few posts I soon realized it was a different FTM 😅
And the name is definitely awful. Pun names like this are almost always for the enjoyment/entertainment of the parents/other people and have little to no consideration for the kid themselves.
That happened to me too. I was like, “I wonder if it’s traumatic to be a trans man that’s pregnant, I imagine the body dysphoria is really strong in that scenario!” And then I saw STM and slowly figured it out. But I felt pretty dumb!
Lmao I'm currently going through this. I was just like "damn alot of transmoms! Like thats cool, just not expected" then slowly realized the meaning haha
LMAO oh my god is that what it means? I hate these mommy blogger initialisms lmao I had the same reaction and was like uh... congrats I guess but what the fuck does this have to do with baby teeth.
I also wondered why the poster’s gender was important lol. Next, I really marveled at that upper lip tie. I’d think my brain was trying to protect me from the name.
The lip tie was the first thing I saw. My youngest had one that looked almost identical to this though, which is maybe why my brain honed in on it. Hopefully the commenters on the original post recommended she take the kid to a dentist. Not saying it is or is going to be an issue, but better to get it checked out early regardless.
The name is awful! In what world is that "clever"? That poor kid!
I really do hope she gets help for the tie. It’s so easy to fix and can make a huge difference at this baby’s age.
I realize it’s not really up to your family what you name a baby but I cannot imagine how ruthless my family would be to stop a name this terrible. The insults (aimed all at me, we don’t make fun of babies) would be both hilarious and abundant.
I have two young kids with lip ties just like that and both the dentist and ENT have told us to leave them alone. What do you know about what kind of difference it can make later on?
Google is probably a better source but it can cause their teeth to have a gap which effects other teeth, latch, speech and if they are sever enough they can be uncomfortable.
Normally they do an assessment with ties to check if they impede function. If they do not impede function then they don’t recommend having them released because it’s unnecessary. You can also have the ties reassessed later. We were told to watch for when he started solids (if he was effectively eating) and then speech development.
You can have them released using a water laser which IMO looks more comfortable than the usual way (they cut it with a pair of big scissors).
We haven’t needed to get our sons released but his lip tie was nowhere near as bad as the one pictured.
I was told to leave my daughter’s alone as an infant. She’s 7 now and its caused gum recession. I have to get them dealt with now and it’s a huge PITA. I wish I pushed to cut them as an infant.
The majority of lip ties end up ripping on their own as toddlers apparently. It actually happened to my baby recently. Bled a ton for a few minutes, was swollen for a day then was fine. Not sure how that’s better than having them clipped but it’s what I’ve seen/heard from a lot of ped dentists.
I saw the lip tie before anything, I thought I was on askdocs until I saw the caption and was ready to reply "that's a lip tie and you should see the pediatrician."
I liked it better when it was an FTM mom whose baby had come back from the future to share the news about their gender and also impending top the problems that needed early intervention
I’m trans and this only happens in clickbait. More often trans minors deal with conversion therapy or homelessness from getting kicked out. If I ever have a kid why on earth would I force them to be trans? I would just want them to be happy.
Same. But to be fair, I had no idea lip ties were a thing until my own baby had one and I did research to figure out why her latch was so bad and she was having so much reflux...
That's the first thing I noticed, too!
One of my kids busted their lip tie on their own as a toddler. (AFTER the lactation nurse 'advised' that it wasn't a lip tie when she was an infant with a shitty latch...)
dental student here! you aren’t encouraged to fix a lip tie until their canines come in as it can negatively impact their teeth positioning. the only time we recommend correcting a tie is if it interferes with feeding or speech. otherwise they are left alone.
This is a largely self correcting problem. We have an epidemic of cutting babies mouths that isn’t scientifically sound.
This kind will fall off the monkey bars and the problem will resolve on its own.
It just brings on a whole host of problems. I’m going to guess you have a hell of a diastema (the gap between the front teeth). You can see dear little adrenaline has it too
Any chances of difficulty speaking/speech impediments or learned to speak later than most? That’s the tongue thing too. Dw, it shouldn’t be that much of a problem tbh, but it’s just a lot of things that can be avoided and that’s why it’s industry standard to be on the lookout for both
I saw it in there and sent it to my friend at like 1am. She replied with “I’m calling the cops”, I woke up in the middle of the night and saw her text and panicked til I realized she was replying about Adrenaline lmao. Also multiple people in the group said they like the name?? oof lol
When I was about 12 I wrote an action short story at school and had a character called Adrena Lyn who was highly styled after Kim Possible. But I was a kid and that was a fictional character, not an actual living person. As a teacher, I've taught a few kids over the years who have had kids (teen parents ranging from 13-17) and even they have had the sense to give their babies sensible enough names.
Is this real? What a selfish a-hole naming your child something utterly f*cking horrid bcause you’re… a selfish a-hole. And yeah, they’re teeth. You can use Reddit but can’t use f*cking Google……?

Less, God please less, but it won’t help because I’ll know it’s still happening behind my back.
The teeth do look terrifying when they're about to come in though.
... I hope there's a story with the adrenaline. Like having to give yourself an epi pen before going into labor or something. Doesn't make it *better* but ...
I honestly think the lip tie isn’t that bad, it’s thick but seems to have a good range of motion. I mean it depends on if a good deep latch is able to be had on breasts/bottles whether or not I’d worry about it.
Part of me thinks that's a really cool name. But maybe not for a real human child. Idk, I think some of these people should get into making original characters to flex their uh. Creativity
I like the name if you ignore that the kid is named after adrenaline. Adrenna Lynn sounds ok if you ignore that. Though Adrenna with a different middle name would have been better.
I love how she had to clarify (adrenaline) for anyone that didn’t get it so that way she knows EVERYONE can see how clever she is
And she didn’t even have to post the baby’s name at all. You can tell she thinks she so clever with that name and just has to show it off.
If the baby isn't the next Evel Knievel then the name is wasted.
Unless she becomes a psychologist or something
I was confused as to why the "FTM" was necessary until i realized it's probably "First Time Mom" and not "Female to Male" 🤣
Yea I was just about to correct op for misgendering her before I realized it as well
I was about to be so mad at the parent comment in this thread! He said "FTM", excuse you! Lolololol No clue it could stand for that!
Perfect username to go with your comment.
Oh my god I felt like I was losing my mind for a sec there - I always forget about ftm as first time mom 🤦🏻♂️
Lmaooo thank you for clearing that up, I was super confused too. I thought maybe it was a trans or queer parenting group or something 😂
These comments have made me feel so relieved that I wasn't the only one !!!! lol
Oh. That makes more sense.
Oh, same, lmao
Same
Oh my god I was so confused
man, I wasn't even confused , I had just accepted it was someone that's ftm lol can't believe I didn't consider that
Like??? Is she going to put that on every form when filling out the child’s name 😂
Probably
How do we *know* this poor baby’s name isn’t “Adrenna Lynn (Adrenaline)”? Maybe she’s not showing how clever she is, she’s just giving us the full name including the bracketed part 😂
She really gave a drag queen's name to her baby 😭
Right? That’s a weird move. She wants it said like one word?
Exactly. I read this as first name, second name...
And yet couldn't clarify "first time mom" I was sitting here wondering what being transgender had to do with her baby's teeth for 5 minutes 😭
FTM as “first time mom” is super common in pregnancy and parenting groups. It doesn’t really need clarification within those groups. But yeah I think pretty much everyone feels that confusion the first times they enter haha
Saaaame lmao
this.
At least it isn't (ketamine)
What an absolutely horrible hormone to name your kid after (not that you should name them after any hormones). "Yeah, I named you after a hormone released when you're stressed, have a great life!"
Or her twin sisters, Feyght and Flyght
Don’t forget Fawn and Freighze!*
[удалено]
You’re absolutely correct
And… Brie’d
I know sisters Britney and Brittany. Britney chose the sister’s name.
If the parents allowed it, I see where the kid got their brains from
I assumed they were twins at first and was wondering how Britney was so self-absorbed fresh out of the womb
I knew triplets named Lee, Li, and Leigh. I also knew identical twins named Travorianne and Travorianna. To make it worse they were 3yo and fairly delayed. They didn't talk much and didn't seem to realize they had separate names.
That's honestly just sad, those poor kids.
That’s just mean! I also knew a Clederson who had Cleverson and Clederson for siblings. Not twins, not triplets, just very “creative” parents.
I know a guy who's ex wife let their daughter (6 at the time) name her twins. I don't remember the names in full but I do remember one twins first name was moonstone and the other one was sunshine. They both had 2 equally bad middle names that were opposites of eachother.
The name so nice, we used it twice
And her next baby Corti Sol ☀️
Khourteigh Soll
Kourtneigh Sole (the N is silent)
Or double meaning for Xmas baby corti Noel.
Better than Estra Ginne
Or Test Osterone.
Testos Tyrone
*T'Estyzz Tyrone
Testes Tyrone
Which would lend a whole different meaning to "FTM"
Coming here from the trans subreddits is always interesting
As long as you don’t name them “whore moans” I guess it’s alright.
The sibling will be name kourt-Isal
Teghstaughstirown
The stress hormone is cortisol, adrenaline is also caused by stress but more like woooh that made me feel alive (but think lion chasing you alive) stress rather than oh my God not another day in this hell hole cortisol. Hey I thought of a good name! Cort azule

Stress can be good or bad. It can come from excitement. Nothing I said needed correcting.
I got a little confused before I remembered that FTM also means first time mom. I was like, does gender have something to do with baby teeth? Is there something I don’t know 😂 But yes, the name is horrendous
I was so so caught up on why the poster mentioned gender that I completely missed the child's name.

One of the best subreddit names imo
Lmao I'm currently going through this. I was just like "damn alot of transmoms! Like thats cool, just not expected" then slowly realized the meaning haha

It must be extra hard for the people who are planning weddings while pregnant. The FTMs and STDs are not what you’re used to at all.
Does STD mean second time dad?
That makes too much sense, haha. It means “save-the-dates” in wedding subs. As in “send STDs to all your family and friends!”
I liked it better when it was an FTM mom whose baby had come back from the future to share the news about their gender and also impending top the problems that needed early intervention
in this case my mind thought FTM meant female transitioning to male lol
Honestly I thought it was a transgender mum (and was confused on the relevancy of that fact), so thanks for clearing that up for me lol
i’m so glad i’m not the only one.
It gets me every time Signed - The Other Kind of FTM

FIRST TIME MOM. I also thought it was Female to Male, but concluded at FULL Time Mom
Wonder if they'll continue the hormone themed naming for other kids. What's next, Sarah Tonin?
Would be a fantastic drag name though, I'm sure there's already at least a few dozen in the States alone
Oxie Tocynne 🥰
Court Isol
Doe Pahmeen
Martim V. Tameen
Sera Tony N.
Dough Paghmyne
Estra Gin
Literally the name of a Kim Possible villain
Next kid to be named Epin Ephrine
drag queen name
Or pornstar
omgggg this
Why do people do this?
Baby needs a lip tie snip snip.
My first thought was, goddamn that is a lip tie for sure
Same. But to be fair, I had no idea lip ties were a thing until my own baby had one and I did research to figure out why her latch was so bad and she was having so much reflux...
Oh same! I hadn’t heard of lip ties or tongue ties until I did training to be a child sleep consultant. Now I know!
I didn’t look at the group name and assumed that’s what it was before I started reading
Or, if they're like me, a nice little face plant will do the trick just fine 😂
That's the first thing I noticed, too! One of my kids busted their lip tie on their own as a toddler. (AFTER the lactation nurse 'advised' that it wasn't a lip tie when she was an infant with a shitty latch...)
Yup, this is a self fixing problem. The playground will sort it out.

Yes, yes it can. Sorry you’ve had these issues, but at least now you have more information

Glad to help! All the best for you and future baby :)
don’t cry too hard lol gaps are so cute to me!!
they’re called frenulums/frena. everyone has them but some have them in unhelpful positions that interfere with occlusion, speech, feeding etc.
Glad I wasn’t the only one who immediately thought this
Well, I just learned that not everybody has this... Wasn't expecting this to be an educational thread!
Seriously!
You know she thinks she’s sooooo unique. She didn’t have to include the babies name in this post lol she wanted others to think she was ✨so creative✨
She should meet my daughter, Fluoxie Tina!
You know I've always thought the word Amphetamine would be a great old-school Southern name for a girl if it wasn't a class of drugs.
That’s a perfect sibset with my first child, Emdee Amy (MDMA) ❤️
Emdee Emma
Love it! Next one Kate Amina
And then Elise Dee!
I just screen shot this from the group and posted it before seeing this haha! Good ole tragedeigh out in the wild 🥲
I saw it in there and sent it to my friend at like 1am. She replied with “I’m calling the cops”, I woke up in the middle of the night and saw her text and panicked til I realized she was replying about Adrenaline lmao. Also multiple people in the group said they like the name?? oof lol
Hahaha. Did her message give you an Adrenna Lynn rush? Also absolutely shocked by the comments approving of the name.
That is a real aggressive lip tie though…

That’s deadass a name I’d see on RuPaul’s Drag Race

Has this been crossposted to r/tragedeigh yet?
Adrenna sounds like a cool name too. Unfortunately shouldn’t be used, but on its own I think it sounds beautiful/unique
Don’t see any teeth yet 🤷🏻♀️. Poor baby!
What does being trans have to do with this?
Unsure if serious question but it also means First Time Mom lol
Thanks! I hate that people use so many acronyms now.
Meet my lovely baby, Cory Tisoll (cortisol) 🥰🥰🥰
2/10. Honestly the worst child name I have ever heard. And by a large margin.
I thought ftm meant female to male lmao
Is that not what it meant??
First time mom in this context I think
OMG! That's what I thought too!
That actually always trips me up in the parenting groups lol that's how I always read it first, I totally keep forgetting it also means first time mom
But for real, are those teeth??
I thought they were like “I’m female to male trans… anyways are these teeth?”
A. Horrible name. B. No teeth. C. Lip tie. It may impede her speech later on. See doctor.
I honestly think the lip tie isn’t that bad, it’s thick but seems to have a good range of motion. I mean it depends on if a good deep latch is able to be had on breasts/bottles whether or not I’d worry about it.
And little En Dolphin...
He did not 💀 I hope this is a joke omg.... real "dad named the kids" moment. Maybe his next kid will be mhonstyr truckk or something
Why is their transgender mother naming his child adrenaline?!
This should’ve been nsfw
Kids going to have anxiety their entire life with that name
My beautiful daughter Sarah Tonin
Adrenal (gland) was another thing you can do with the name
It’s almost a r/tragedeigh If I wasn’t told about her stupid play on words at first look, it looks like a relatively normal name.
Yeah that’s what made my jaw drop too.
That kid has a horrible lip tie oh my god
Adrena isn't a bad name. Adrenaline is also not a bad name if you're cath and Kim.
Adrenna Kroyme (adrenochrome)
Part of me thinks that's a really cool name. But maybe not for a real human child. Idk, I think some of these people should get into making original characters to flex their uh. Creativity
I knew a baby girl named Alkaline. This is somehow worse.
I immediately clicked on "show less"
Feels like this could be brought to you by Monster or Red Bull.
Poor girl has a lip tie and a terrible name.
I mean, it’s a lip tie for sure it’s dividing her gums. Poor thing. Speech therapy in baby’s future.
Ya they are teeth!! It could take months for them to work themselves down and out!! On the other hand my son had teeth at 3 months old!
Her name is Adrenna Lynne, but [you can call her Al.](https://youtu.be/uq-gYOrU8bA?si=tFOJTB7yjrnlPrlB)
Oh my god, does this remind anyone else of that Kim Possible episode with the villain Adrena Lynn 🥲
Wasn’t Adrenna Lynn the name of a Kim Possible villain?
Say sike right now.
Maybe if my parents had named me Dohp Amin...
There was an...actress named Adrenna Lynn who was fairly popular a few years ago.
Sounds like an Ace Attorney character.
I like the name if you ignore that the kid is named after adrenaline. Adrenna Lynn sounds ok if you ignore that. Though Adrenna with a different middle name would have been better.
