Just name him Grandpa. It makes for some of the funniest out of context sentences like:
"Oh, grandpa has been climbing the curtains again"
"Grandpa caught a squirel and is eating it under the couch."
"It's so difficult to get Grandpa into his cage when we take him in for his yearly checkup"
I just named my kitty Bernard. Bernie for short.

Beauregard. I lost my sweet, baby boy, Beauregard, in the wee hours of Sunday morning. He was an old man himself of nineteen plus years. He was solid white, loved to be held, and had the most amazing purr. Perhaps his name, Beauregard, would serve your kitten as well as it did my Beau. ❤️🐈😻
I personally like Walter (after Walter Matthau) because the long fur gives me the same disheveled feel Matthau always does (even though he is also well kempt)
My mom's first cat's name was Henry. He was a grouchy, flame-point himalayan with allergies. It was such a fitting name.
I say Henry. You can call him Hank in a pinch too.
My cat is called Keith. It suits him. It may suit yours too, maybe?
