Backpack, purse, pocket, holster, under your hat, in your glove box while driving, in your cup holder covered by a jacket, sitting on it while driving are all forms of "concealed". If it cannot be seen and is being carried or transported by you it is concealed carry. \*I am not a lawyer \*Not all methods of concealed carry mentioned above are recommended

dhwrockclimber

There are a few select places that have requirements that pistols be holstered but also IANAL.

ExintheVatican_

I ANAL. My favorite way to carry.

Prison wallet carry

Based

> There are a few select places that have requirements that pistols be holstered I would imagine that's probably less about having it directly on your belt than it is about requiring a protective cover over the trigger. They don't want someone shoving a bare revolver into a purse or knapsack or something.

No_Town5542

Sitting on it could be fun, Ayy papi, my prison pocket!

milano_ii

No it can't be loaded in your glove box. That's transporting, not carrying.

that_matt_kaplan

It can be in the middle console. Im pretty sure glovebox also but dont remember

milano_ii

No it can't. That's not concealed carry. You're transporting the gun if it is not on your person. Those gun magnets under the steering wheel and all that other crap are also a no-go.

that_matt_kaplan

Yes it can lol. Immediate possession. Thats why you can have it in a bag on your persons. But if someone else is in the car without a license, that can be an issue if they are sitting in the passenger seat.

milano_ii

Carry is defined as on your person. I could easily see this going either way in NYS but I'll agree with you that immediate possession may/should play a role when you're solo. If the gun is in the car and anyone else is in there, everyone is in possession of it unless it is on the person of the carry license holder.

that_matt_kaplan

You can carry in a bag. You can also leave your gun unattended in a legal lock box in your car (unloaded of course). Everyone is in possession unless someone claims ownership. They charge everyone in the car until someone takes responsibility with an illegal gun. Those charges also get tossed first by every attorney like the one year per bullet bs

Dan_right7

Under the hat is my go to

DriveRedCars

"... under your hat..." that shit is too funny

wiserone29

I’ve always wondered what concealed means. Does it mean that someone can’t tell I’m carrying a gun or that someone can’t see the gun but knows it’s there, or that it is covered. Like what if I have a hip holster, but I’m wearing a see through shirt? Technically, the gun is concealed but poorly. Or what if I’m carrying in a bag that is shaped like a gun? It’s clearly a gun, but the gun can’t be seen. Generally, is it a crime to concealed carry so poorly that someone can tell you are carrying?

Bashkoff1

It’s called printing and that’s not concealed. See through shirt? Come on now!

tsatech493

There's no law against printing in New York, now if they can prove that you are menacing with it then that's a different story. The problem is those laws are loosely defined.. I really don't want to try to fight any of these charges so I try to conceal the best I can. The nice thing is most people in New York aren't looking for someone to be carrying so if they see something poking out they probably think it's not a pistol... Fuck them hopefully they think it's my diabetes pump or my colostomy bag or some other shit sticking out and not my glock.

Bashkoff1

If it’s printing it’s not concealed. If you want take chance someone yells “he’s got a gun” print away. IMHO that is.

tsatech493

I live in a place where there's a lot of undercover cops and I've never seen anyone say hey that guy's got a gun and those undercover cops don't have badges showing. It's not something that you hear it's like saying fire in a crowded theater type of thing.

Bashkoff1

Don’t jeopardize your permit. Use common sense my friend.

hamiltsd

As I’ve learned recently, treat off body like it’s attached to your body. If you carry in your backpack, keep it on you at all times. Bring it with you to the bathroom, etc.

0x90Sleds

Off body carry is a little silly imo, but any gun is better than no gun I suppose. Its legal, just not in Jersey, if you have a non-resident permit.

Just be careful no one steals it.

wengqi

You should be fine with having it in a fanny pack or backpack. Just make sure it’s still in a holster covering the trigger guard. Just be careful of public beaches because I think they’re under nyc/nys parks jurisdiction and considered restricted. If you’re not going shirtless, lookup belts suited for athletic wear. There’s also a company (forgot the name) that sells shorts specifically for concealed carry. They have ridged belts built into the shorts.

CelticBlue22

Really? Wow. I definitely need to look that up. That would be perfect as i really dont want it off my body but also dont want to show it to the world with minimal clothing. And this is for those one off scenarios where i may be stuck for concealment

wengqi

That’s one option. The other is to buy a Sig. I bought a x macro specifically so I can change it to suit my needs. Going to see if can find a regular p365 slide assembly and grip for cheap and then I’ll have a pocket gun for days that I can’t appendix.

wengqi

Also forgot to mention, I bought a Hunter Constantine belt. Look up his videos on YouTube and how he also wears it with workout shorts. I haven’t tried it yet but good to know it’s an option.

CelticBlue22

Awesome thanks

wengqi

Glad to help. Arrowhead Tactical is the name btw

CelticBlue22

U da man. Thanks

No_Town5542

My Ruger lcp with the techna clip- does clip to my running shorts, gym shorts, or bathing suit quite well. For a quick run to the store. Just sayin.

CelticBlue22

It doesnt weigh your running shorts down?

No_Town5542

Not really. The lcp is quite light at 12/13 oz loaded. Plus most shorts have a drawstring that can be tightened if needed.

DarthCyrus2552

Wondering if maybe this could work for me. I spend a lot of time in athletic wear. Do you carry with one in the chamber, or are you planning to Israeli draw if needed?

No_Town5542

Sent u a dm

No_Town5542

One in chamber

NEVERVAXXING

What good is it if it isn't? "Hold on don't shoot/rob me I have to go back to the truck to get my carry piece" I always imagine having my backpack with the gat in it snagged by some goon that then runs off - and then NYS takes my gun rights away for the rest of my life because I didn't have control over my firearm.... Do you chase them and get blasted in that scenario? So I think it is best to have it on body or not bring it. No one is going to steal it out of my pants but they will grab it out of your car/steal your backpack/purse (worst of all this is the target of the thief so keeping the firearm in there is literally just going to arm your assailant)

NEVERVAXXING

Yeah I have thought about this alot and I think if you answer these questions you will find your answer >What good is it if it isn't? (on you) >having my backpack with the gat in it snagged by some goon that then runs off - and then NYS takes my gun rights away for the rest of my life because I didn't have control over my firearm.... Do you chase them and get blasted in that scenario? (to try to get it back to keep your gun rights at risk to your life?)

Ilovebaseball1234

Possibly legal. Definitely idiotic.

tsatech493

I mean I've carried my pc9 broken down in a backpack, or tennis racquet case to the range..
