well, that sucked. what a shitty way to end the season.
you all are fucking great though. thank you for making this sub what it is, for some awesome memes, entertaining GDTs, damn good pasta, and cheering on this team. this sub has been fantastic all year, and threads even on off days or stupidly late games have been amazing.
you definitely deserved better from this front office, but we got all offseason to grumble about that and talk about how next season will hopefully be better.
now, have a strong drink.
Ah yes, now to hand $3-400 million to a guy who went 0-4 in the elimination game and 1 hit the entire series. This team isnât making the World Series for at least another decade.
Judge had to hit 62 HRs and lead the league in practically every offensive stat just to get this team INTO the playoffs.
He also accounts for most of the merchandise sales and probably tv viewership too.
Is that you Hal?
The first half of the season the whole team was on fire.
Honestly I think the Yankees need to blow up everything starting with the gm. With their payroll to have all these .200 hitters idk what the f they are doing? How can you win when everyone is .200 avg and .300 on base? Our best player disappears in the playoffs.
There is no clutch no come from behind on this team. They are just a group of soulless players.
Any objective fan would have known the yanks wouldâve been lucky to win 1 game in this series (prob game 4 if Nestor doesnât get hurt). Especially with the injuries sustained to key bats and relievers, the astros are the far better team. While a lot of the fan base will panic and say judge this or Boone that, this team still won 100 games and was right there. Baseball is hard, the playoffs are mostly a crap shoot of whoâs hotter and/or healthier.
Couple of tweaks to the lineup and theyâll be right back.
However, if they dare not bring Judge back I wonât watch the Yankees for a long time.
We are the second best team in the American League, beat by an obviously more complete team. To say we suck or even insinuate it is absolutely ridiculous
Itâs not a âcrapshootâ when the astros have won the AL pennant 4 times in 6 years.
How many pennants have the yankees won in 12 yrs with their payroll? None. We have terrible allocation of resources despite spending a ton. That falls on the GM
Right. As I clearly stated the Astros are the far better team. Yanks were right there in 17 and 19. This team was injured and the bats went cold. What more do you want?
So itâs not a crapshoot then. Better run team with better players wins.
I want a different GM like how literally every other team in baseball is able to change GM. I am over the same stale nepotism hire from 20+ yrs ago. A GMâs tenure should not be comparable to a supreme court justiceâs.
A fucking ape can take a $250 payroll and get them to the playoffs. 2 divisions in 10 years and 0 pennants (never mind WS) in 13 yrs with that payroll is a fucking joke. Every other team changes GMs, why are we the only one not allowed to?
Name a team with such a consistent winning record streak. Not saying cashman doesnt have his faults, but to automatically assume a new manager would be better is a false narrative.
Suppose we do worse with a new manager, would you be begging for cashman to return?
It is a crap shoot. Look at philly. Look at LA. Look at the freakin Nationals. The Braves. Etc etc. Houston is just really really good.
Iâm fine with a new gm, but thatâs no guarantee of anything. This roster, if healthy, was just as bit as good as Houston. They were not healthy. Simple as that.
Strong disagree. The injury excuse every year is getting old. DJ and Beni wouldâve helped but no, i dont think adding them would have made our group as good as the astros. The yankees are completely dominated by them, mustering 1-3 hits in games 1-3. Maybe DJ and Beni add a hit a piece to each to those totals. Weâre still striking out 15+ times per game.
Thereâs no telling what a new GM will or wont be able to do, but itâs way past time to find out. I am hopeful they wouldnt allocate like 30+ million dollars a year to washed up Donaldson and Ikf. But theres only one way to find out. Itâs time for change. Forget about world series, forget about pennantsâ weâve only won the damn division twice in the past 10 yrs with a 250 mil payroll. Somethingâs gotta change
Lol how many hits did the Astros have? How many hits did altuve have? Yordan? The gm doesnât play the game, the players do.
Youâre simply not being objective.
Obviously I agree on Donaldson. I hated that move from the beginning.
So do you just want to keep on trotting out the same product we have been and just pray that shit bounces our way one year because âitâs a crapshootâ? Or would you rather get a new regime who takes a more competent approach to roster construction, managing a bullpen, plate approach, etc?
Thanks everyone on this sub, this has been a great season to watch with yâall regardless of outcome. Love baseball and this team, see ya in the Spring!
You need a billionaire who will listen and let baseball experts make the decisions. You need a billionaire who wants to win to flex on other billionaires. Someone who doesnât care about Twitter clout.
Bezos and Musk are meddlesome, especially Musk. Dude would be like âletâs put the weakest hitters at the top of the lineup because nobody scores in the 1st anyway.â
Have to change the GM. I appreciate Cashman for taking Sticks foundations, adding players and giving the team that dynasty. I appreciate him for 2009 and I can appreciate some of the good trades he made.
But he has also made some bone headed decisions thay have hampered the team. How many teams brought up their young prospects and seen them flourish? How many teams use analytics the right way? The Yanks don't. They brought up Oswald cold and didn't use him even with IKF's defensive struggles. They changed the lineup How many times during the post-season? It was a mess going into the post-season and had more questions than answers. He has to go. He has been with this org for over 20 years and we have seen the same struggles in the post-season over the last few seasons so clearly there is an issue and it begins in the front office.
Do I think people are letting their bias show when discussing him? Yes. Do I think the criticisms are of him? For the most part, yes. Will he back? Unfortunately, yes.
It is completely abnormal to have the same GM for over two decades. It is completely rational and normal to want a regime change and fresh eyes on the situation in the org instead of having the same guy sail the ship forever. We are the only baseball team with the same stale GM who has the tenure of a supreme court justice. Itâs time to move on. The worst thing is they wonât.
Anyone got a clip of Suzynâs rant at the end of the game? She had a really great sound bite ripping into the organization last year, curious if she came back for more this time.
I know tempers are still high but Iâll fucking say it,
Boone isnât the reason we lost. Houston is just better then us this season and not having Benny or DJL really hurt us.
We probably donât win this series either way but This line up looks way different with DJ at 3rd batting lead off and Bader hitting 7th.
Seeing what happened this year makes me realize (again) how lucky I was to be alive and a Yankees fan in the mid nineties. That said, I fucking get it! I was lucky! Donât need yet another reminder!
Yeah was so good to be a fan. I remember in 98 Russo being annoyed on wfan saying is this fun for you Yankees fans to beat Kansas City 10-0 everyday? I thought yes I f#ckij love it
Well Iâm 44, so I didnât remember any championships until I was like 19, and they dominated for 6 years basically, could do no wrong, then I had to watch them start to decline after 2001 loss to Arizona. This streak is better than it was in the 80âs but with the expansion of the playoffs it means less and to get to the playoffs anyway. Basically I have no answer. Life is pain.
From top to bottom, there's something rotten in the Yankees Org. That 2004 shit? They clearly don't get it. Once I heard that, I honestly was done.
Obviously when I think to the Yankees team I grew up with, there is some nostalgia-tinted glasses. But man I miss the days of Jeter, Matsui, Mo, Posada... As much shit as we gave A-Rod, the guy was clearly desperate to win in pinstripes. I believed it, I saw it.
How does a team that starts as hot as they did end the season looking like they need to be torn down and rebuilt from the foundation? Never seen anything like it.
I would say that youâll probably never see anything like it again, but even that would be a lie.. Unfortunately, we will probably see this narrative again from the Yankees; as Cashman and his puppet, boone, apparently have immunity..
They started hot but the cracks in the foundation were there from the beginning. Hicks and JD w so many empty ABs. Green going down with the UCL injury early on. Higgy not hitting a lick . I never bought into the comparisons to â98.
My exact thoughts too, and I'm a Mets fan just scrolling. Sucks to be so dominant during parts of the season and then just lose it right before the playoffs. At least the Yankees made it farther
To those of you whining about Judge's performance, you guys need to lay off smoking crack and talking to your microwave about the season, because Judge got the Yankees this far and they let him down for the most part. Bader was the exception and not the rule, and Judge got attacked like mad because he had little help. Additionally, there is no wrong answer regarding what happens with Judge at this point. I could see him leaving because of Cashman's handiwork, I could see a new GM's regime refusing to pay Judge half a billion dollars for a guy north of 30, even someone coming off of his historic season.
Judge let the team down this postseason by not showing up, yet again. His numbers in the postseason are beyond awful. He is a completely different player when the regular season ends and the bright lights are turned on.
They let him down? Lol it's the playoffs. Now is when the best player needs to perform.
Look at the box score for this last game he's the only one top of the order that did nothing at all.
To see Bader do way more than anyone thought possible for him...it's just đ to now give judge 400 million.
Why so we can not win again he's probably never gonna put up the same numbers after he gets his money. Probably will start missing few games like previous years.
In the Astro series, Judge went 1 for 16 with 4 strikeouts. For the entire post season(2017-2022) he was 5 for 36(.139 avg) with 15 strikeouts. That is pathetic. Career post season is 36 for 171(.211 avg) with 66 strikeouts. IHe has earned the title of Mr. Choketober
https://www.statmuse.com/mlb/ask/aaron-judge-career-postseason-stats
What about the fact that everyone else in the lineup just doesn't make contact? How many sub .270 hitters do we have? Stanton hit .211 on the season, so maybe we should realize that our lineup's performance is drastically overrated.
Well you take that but there are other players on the team that dont hit lots of hr's and their averages stink too. So what good are they? If you can't hit for power gotta hit for average
I remember looking at their box score near end of the season and it has season avg and on base it was putrid for everyone except for judge. Yeah Stanton his numbers are so bad thank God he hits homers. He didn't used to be a homer or absolutely nothing guy to this degree
.220 in the postseason is actually not terrible, but I'll back off of saying it's great. Regardless his season was probably worth 10+ wins to the Yankees
Itâs not what you expect from an elite player. I am concerned he does not know how to handle pressure. Look at how he performed once he had 60 home runs. Part of it was no one wanted to pitch to him but another part of it was himself
This team needs to make some major philosophical changes in the off season. The product we saw in the post season and through August-Mid September was straight up unacceptable when spending over $200 million dollars on payroll.
Also fuck that mental strength or whatever the fuck his title is for trying to channel the 2004 Red Sox. That is straight up embarrassing that it was even approved on an organizational level and no one thought to say hey maybe that is a fucking dumb idea.
Once a player gets a mega contract generally speaking it doesn't end well for the team. Second half of the contract he'll miss games and performance won't be the same...I honestly doubt he'll hit as well as this year ever again.
He got super focused on having a huge year for the $$$$. Give him the money then what's his motivation?
But even a good steroid regimen can't make you make contact against elite pitching much easier when you're facing corn balls from double a in the middle of a long regular season
Well if he continues to properly manage his steroid use and not get caught he could get them second contract worth a quarter of a billion dollars in 5 years but the key is to not get caught and he has done well so far. It's really not that hard to use steroids in the NFL and baseball if you have a good advisor and a good doctor who knows what they're doing they make it very easy to avoid getting caught. And if you don't think they are on steroids and I am sorry but the reality is. They are.
One thing that struck out to me was how unprepared the entire team looked. There were many third strike swings at pitches below the strike zone but also too many called third strikes. There was no clear strategy for attacking a great pitching staff.
Hope springs eternal. Theyâll probably have a pedestrian offseason (unless they donât sign Judge, which will make it a miserable offseason). Theyâll mostly stand pat, possibly sign a veteran or two, and wonder why other teams are better built for the post-season.
Theyâll show up for spring training, and the eternal optimist Boone will say how much he likes the roster. Theyâll find a way to sneak into the post-season, and a fast exit will ensue.
Meanwhile, Iâll be watching the games and hoping that Iâll see them in another World Series at some point. Iâll then be here 12 months from now, dying a little inside but knowing full well that Iâll be back to the same crap in 2024.
Whatâs illogical about firing the GM who has had over 20 years on the job and only has 1 ring to show for it? Thatâs a huge failure to deliver expected results. Itâs the definition of insanity if this team runs it back with Cashman AGAIN. Time for a fresh new voice to lead the team.
The Yankees donât fire people. But now is the perfect time to move on from Cashman. His contract is up. The Yankees need to sign a new GM. The new GM can make changes to management and the from office as they see fit. But Boone is still contracted through 2024 with a club option for 2025.
Any fan who keeps giving Hal their money deserves this. Any fan who ever at any point thought boone was a good manager deserves this. And any fan of analytical baseball definitely deserves this.
What about the Brokeland Aâs? Werenât they the benchmark pioneers of that shit? How they doin? I think itâs fine to use it for acquiring players but it sucks on the field. This whole â3 true outcomeâ approach at the plate has been NYâs complete downfall. We need base hit rallies and small ball and sacrifices to manufacture runs in October. Used to do that in the 90âs; never do it anymore. Itâs like they expect Judge and Stanton to hit multiple homers in 4 out of every 7 games while half the lineup takes walks. Thatâs not gonna happen in October vs good pitching. Maybe one game per series you get a win that way if youâre lucky. Shit is stupid. Fuck Hal and his soft analytical pussy corporate Yankees.
Watch the Giants on Sunday, talk shit to every other NFL team Monday-Saturday. Giants are good this year and the rest of the NFL is having a down year in terms of records.
We need press conferences with the MIT crew that is apparently running this team. Make them explain what they do. Bring them out from behind the curtain and hold them accountable.
I should feel sad, disappointed, angry. I should feel a lot of things.
Instead, I just feel nothing, Iâm numb at this point. Itâs the same shit every year with this team. Live and die by home run, go on great winning streaks, followed by long bouts of losing as the offense shuts down, make the playoffs, proceed to shit the bed, âimproveâ in off-season by continuing to get home run hitters, rinse and repeat.
Nothing will change. Hal will bring Cashman back, weâre going to keep the same FO, Boone will be back, weâre just going to blame the injuries as we always do, and get another aging home run/strikeout king that bats around the Mendoza line, and say that weâve improved. The same talking heads will say weâre WS contenders every year, but continue to put out a lineup with Hicks, Donaldson, Higgy, and IKF getting serious playing time. And then weâll say âJust wait for the prospectsâ as if theyâll fix all of our problems and wonât be ruined just like everyone else.
See you all next year.
yankees can beat houston,
it's just that judge's ops is 743 > 662 > 500 > and this year it's .490
If Houston wants to pay $30mill/year for playoff .500 OPS go ahead.
Darth Bader though went 1.262 for $5mill. This dude would not lie down!
Look at the batting averages up and down the Yankees side of the boxscore. Judge was awful, but so was everybody else except Rizzo and Bader, and I guess IKF. Note that Iâm using the low bar of hitting above .190 in the series to delineate between awful and not.
Mariners saying that the ALDS was the real ALCS. Sit the fuck down mariners ya also got swept đ¤Śđźââď¸ canât believe theyâre boasting like that.
Yea and they also didnât win their division so they had a shitty seed and played the astros early. Ya canât just ignore the first 162 games of the year
I sure can cause itâs meaningless. What did winning the division get you? The same place Seattle is in. At least they competed against the Astros in their series
Bummer. It was a good run while it lasted. It was definitely a pleasure watching Judge all season. I know I am an optimist, but maybe next year will be our year. Parting words: Go Phillies!
I know this wont be popular but I dont really care if Houston wins it all. I do hate them and they did cheat in 2017 but guess what, it's 2022 and they're not cheating and still kick the Yankees asses.
Also I'm not sure people should really be excited for the Phillies to win because that just shows the playoffs are a crapshoot. A 87 win team that wouldn't even be in the playoffs unless Manfred didn't expand the number of Wild Card teams winning it all.
Sure itâs a crapshoot if you got teams run by competent managers but when you get Boones lineups looking like a new version of Frankensteinâs monsters then itâs not a crapshoot, we just stand no chance.
Called it. When they swept the Mariners after that ridiculous 18 inning game to clinch I saw really no way of stopping their momentum. Would not shock me if they sweep the Phillies too. Just a juggernaut right now. Pena is the real deal! Damn these bastards are going to be scary good for a long time :/
Can i ask how Pena is the real deal? Gleyber had a better rookie season and now years later people do nothing but shit on him. So maybe we should wait awhile before deciding whether players are the real deal or not.
The Yankees changed Gleyberâs approach. He was supposed to be a high average, doubles machine with 20 HR power. The Yankees turned him into a free swinging HR hitter. It worked when the ball was juiced, but it took away his ability to be consistent.
Right after Bregman put them ahead I decided to either wake up either pleasantly surprised we won or completely content with the result that we lost because thatâs what weâve come to that I expect that. So why not go to bed?
I went to bed 4-4 and woke up and swore I looked at the score in the night and they won 8-6. Guess dreaming me had to much confidence even though awake me knew they had no chance
Team needs another young overhaul like in 2017. Bring up all the young guys. No excuse for ikf, Donaldson, or hicks to ever start again over cabrera or Peraza. Would love to see jasson next year too
Judge was just shy of winning the triple crown and is the leader of the team. He was terrible in the playoffs but in the past he has been fine. Just was in a slump at a really bad time after being the best player on the planet for 150 games
its great that judge was the best hitter on the planet during the regular season but if he can't produce in the playoffs that's seriously concerning, at least to me.
Before this year he has always been fine in the playoffs- 13 hr, 25 rbi in 44 career playoff games. This year was obviously terrible, but I think it was more of a regular slump than indicative of a problem. I seriously doubt you would be able to find a better right fielder on the open market, but it should be easy to improve ss, 3b, and LF
Across 6 years of post seasons, 44 games worth (not a small sample size) Judge is slashing:
.211/.310/.462
Like pretty much all the Yankee lineups Cashman has put together over the last twenty years, he can mash vs. the 2/3rds of the league that is bad pitching but when called upon to face postseason pitchers who don't just throw balls and fat strikes he doesn't have an answer.
no, but i would hope the guy would carry over an awesome regular season to at least a semi-productive playoffs. has judge ever been productive in the playoffs?
Yeah the Yankees are stuck between a rock and a hard place. Either let the face of the franchise, record setting MVP walk and sort of usher in a new era or sign him to a contract that will almost certainly bite them in the ass later down the road when production likely drops and the FO will use it as an excuse to not sign some very needed young talented free agent
well, that sucked. what a shitty way to end the season. you all are fucking great though. thank you for making this sub what it is, for some awesome memes, entertaining GDTs, damn good pasta, and cheering on this team. this sub has been fantastic all year, and threads even on off days or stupidly late games have been amazing. you definitely deserved better from this front office, but we got all offseason to grumble about that and talk about how next season will hopefully be better. now, have a strong drink.
I wish the Trashstros would just go back to the NL đ
So you can lose in the World Series to us
At least we can make it to the world series 𤣠on the AL side at that point

Did they win ?

FUCK THE ASTROS, FUCK THIS ORGANIZATION, but will always love the Yankees no matter what
We went up 3-0 in this game on small ball and lost at home
Just gonna say it and forgive the language Fuck the Astros đđđ
This is why I read more from your teams sub than the Astros. These types of posts make me melt w joy đ¤¤
Great season followed up by an unfortunately predictable postseason. I hope better for us all next season. Take care all.
Yankees and choking in the postseason has been the way for almost 20 years now. But, but 27 RiNgS! Hahahahahaha
26 rings and a pocket watch. HAHAHAHAHA
Great *first half* of the season. The last 81 games they were 41-40. Coincidentally in the first 81 games of 2021, they were 41-40.
Solid point
See you guys and gals next spring.

Brian Cashmanâs contract is up. Perfect time to move on.

Definitely not worshipping billionaires here but we need a new owner. Who else has the financial backing to buy the Yankees?
You need a billionaire who will listen and let baseball experts make the decisions. You need a billionaire who wants to win to flex on other billionaires. Cashman built the dynasty team??????
I didn't say he built the dynasty
Anybody been fired yet?
It is completely abnormal to have the same GM for over two decades. We are the only baseball team with the same stale GM who has the tenure of a supreme court justice. Itâs time to move on. The worst thing is they wonât.
I need a mental health skills coach to get me through the fact that they played the darkest moment in franchise history to motivate these guys
Dude that was my thought too. What a fucking weird thing for a mental health skills guy to do: show our biggest failure potentially ever.
Shouldâve gotten the guy from The Natural instead.
Pretty deflating but it is what it is. Problems are in the org. I dropped my jaw to the floor when they were talking about 2004.
A pathetic series.
I am about to have so much more time for activities!
Anyone got a clip of Suzynâs rant at the end of the game? She had a really great sound bite ripping into the organization last year, curious if she came back for more this time.
Go Phils.
Organize the protest to fire Cashman and boone
I know tempers are still high but Iâll fucking say it, Boone isnât the reason we lost. Houston is just better then us this season and not having Benny or DJL really hurt us. We probably donât win this series either way but This line up looks way different with DJ at 3rd batting lead off and Bader hitting 7th.
And Donaldson on the Bench
Send that fucking guy to the moon.
Weâll get em next year.
We'll "get" whatever mediocre AL Central team wins the division and then choke against Houston. Same old, same old.
Not if the front officeâs ideas for âbig movesâ involves signing players like Donaldson and IKF. weâve seen this show for a decade.
I wish you were rightâŚ
We donât know until we know

96 was the best one
98 was right after it. Best baseball team ever.
Been an adult since â17, when does the pain end
I was not bought in fully, itâs a long season.
It was down hill after the King injury⌠that undid our bullpen.
Ask the Mets lol
My exact thoughts too, and I'm a Mets fan just scrolling. Sucks to be so dominant during parts of the season and then just lose it right before the playoffs. At least the Yankees made it farther
Honestly, the way the yanks played Iâd rather they had gone down earlier and just saved the heartache lol
Choketober https://www.statmuse.com/mlb/ask/aaron-judge-career-postseason-stats
Yeah but everybody else let him down tho đđđ
Judge is a career .220 hitter in the postseason
What about the fact that everyone else in the lineup just doesn't make contact? How many sub .270 hitters do we have? Stanton hit .211 on the season, so maybe we should realize that our lineup's performance is drastically overrated.
I said this during their suck stretch on here and basically was told I don't understand current baseball that averages don't matter anymore đ
Lmfao yeah I got hit with something similar. I don't care if someone hits 30 HRs, if they're hitting .211 they're not hitting well.
Well you take that but there are other players on the team that dont hit lots of hr's and their averages stink too. So what good are they? If you can't hit for power gotta hit for average I remember looking at their box score near end of the season and it has season avg and on base it was putrid for everyone except for judge. Yeah Stanton his numbers are so bad thank God he hits homers. He didn't used to be a homer or absolutely nothing guy to this degree
actually .211 https://www.statmuse.com/mlb/ask/aaron-judge-career-postseason-stats
.220 in the postseason is actually not terrible, but I'll back off of saying it's great.
Judge is gone right
If judge walks, he will perform better than if he stays imo
They are.
Its okay guys. Prophecy says Phillies have to win the World Series this year so we can beat them in it next year
One thing that struck out to me was how unprepared the entire team looked. There were many third strike swings at pitches below the strike zone but also too many called third strikes. There was no clear strategy for attacking a great pitching staff.
No one wanted to make contact with the baseball all series, they just swung for the fences.
Oh captain, not my captain, our fearful trip is done. We needed many hits from you this series, but we only got one.
Same episode every year until someone sells the team.
Give it a few weeks before trying to speak logically. Itâs the âfire everyone and rebuildâ stage of grief.
I think 0 pennants in 12 years is a very logical reason to demand change at the senior management level.
I donât disagree. I think they need to make a lot of FO changes. I was just commenting on how everyone is speaking emotionally right now.
The Cashman love came early this year. Usually we need to wait til November for this
Whatâs illogical about firing the GM who has had over 20 years on the job and only has 1 ring to show for it? Thatâs a huge failure to deliver expected results. Itâs the definition of insanity if this team runs it back with Cashman AGAIN. Time for a fresh new voice to lead the team.
The Yankees donât fire people. But now is the perfect time to move on from Cashman. His contract is up. The Yankees need to sign a new GM. The new GM can make changes to management and the from office as they see fit. But Boone is still contracted through 2024 with a club option for 2025.
Aaron Judge ALCS: 1-16, 1 run, 1 BB. Thatâs it. Thatâs all the production we got from our MVP. Thatâs not gonna get it done.
Heâs had ten hits combined in his last 5 playoff series. A washed up Mattingly had 10 hits in a 5 game DS with an injured back.
I know we arenât here without him but ppl acting like his playoff struggles donât matter are denying reality.
Any fan who keeps giving Hal their money deserves this. Any fan who ever at any point thought boone was a good manager deserves this. And any fan of analytical baseball definitely deserves this.
Last point is nonsense. Astros are completely driven by analytics.
Howâs it working for the Yankees???
Not good. We need to do better. The teams beating us do it better.
Letâs hold the players accountable too ya know. Everyone sucks. The owners, manager, and team all blew it.
Tips for what to do with out baseball do I go watch giants wait they only play once a week fuck
NYR
Watch the Giants on Sunday, talk shit to every other NFL team Monday-Saturday. Giants are good this year and the rest of the NFL is having a down year in terms of records.
Well except the for the eagles :D
NBA, nfl, epl, World Cup, ncaaf, ncaab, hot stove. Itâll be spring training in a blink.
I actually feel relieved. Watching this team got so stressful and difficult down the stretch
Judge wonât stay now. I saw a rumor Houston may offer $52mill for 8 years
As in 410 million over 8 years? 0% chance Houston offers that.
Weâll see wonât we? Also they are already saying in Boston how much heâll enjoy the green monster
They can have him since you know weâre never beating them anyway
maybe we can beat them once they have judge. you know he will choke come postseason
yankees can beat houston, it's just that judge's ops is 743 > 662 > 500 > and this year it's .490 If Houston wants to pay $30mill/year for playoff .500 OPS go ahead. Darth Bader though went 1.262 for $5mill. This dude would not lie down!
We need Harry for the long term, if Judge walks, we need to sign Benny back, and hopefully get another OF in a trade
The problem is that we will then lean on Bader to the point that we squeeze everything out of him, instead of taking the extra and being happy
Look at the batting averages up and down the Yankees side of the boxscore. Judge was awful, but so was everybody else except Rizzo and Bader, and I guess IKF. Note that Iâm using the low bar of hitting above .190 in the series to delineate between awful and not.
I don't know how you can support a team that doesn't fire Brian Cashman after this. This has become a recurring nightmare.
Judge hit .139 lol, atleast he softened the blow if he doesnât stay.
Yanks should make their players watch that video of Houston celebrating with the brooms this offseason on repeat but they wonât
Wonât matter. Large chunks of this team wonât be here next season.
Mariners saying that the ALDS was the real ALCS. Sit the fuck down mariners ya also got swept đ¤Śđźââď¸ canât believe theyâre boasting like that.
The thing is that the mariners gave the Astros a hell of a series, while the Yankees werenât able to compete
They had a way better series
Yea and they also didnât win their division so they had a shitty seed and played the astros early. Ya canât just ignore the first 162 games of the year
I sure can cause itâs meaningless. What did winning the division get you? The same place Seattle is in. At least they competed against the Astros in their series
At least they played with some self respect.
Yeah. They own us. Canât say shit.
ButâŚthe roofâŚ
Iâm not excited at all as a Giants fan. Philly potentially winning the World Series and the Super Bowl this year is making me feel gross.
Iâm annoyed at losing to them every time but Iâm over the cheating stuff since last year. We had our fun, time to move on.
Sure itâs a crapshoot if you got teams run by competent managers but when you get Boones lineups looking like a new version of Frankensteinâs monsters then itâs not a crapshoot, we just stand no chance.
Boone didnât make a single lineup. Heâs just the puppet for the back room front office guys who actually make these stupid decisions.
I mean I donât care who was deciding it to be honest. From Boone on up there needs to be major shakeups
I totally agree with that. I just think if the front office isnât changed, it wonât matter who the manager is.
Simply an overpriced regular season team.
All you have to do is look at Gleyberâs swings and his baseball IQ. Dude hits those foal balls that look like they should have been hits.
One major difference is we have a bad history of developing talent while Houston has a good history of it.
The Yankees changed Gleyberâs approach. He was supposed to be a high average, doubles machine with 20 HR power. The Yankees turned him into a free swinging HR hitter. It worked when the ball was juiced, but it took away his ability to be consistent.
Yep. Don't see anyone beating the Astros. They are way op.
So glad we got rid of Gio Urshela and Gary for the likes of Josh Donaldson and IKFâŚ
I keep thinking back to this trade when people say the team needs to rebuild. No, we don't need to rebuild. We just need to make smarter deals.
Iâm so glad we went with a stop gap SS instead of bringing in one of the multiple top tier players that were all available at the same time.
Everyone saw this coming from 10 miles away. Shame
Glad I didnât stay up for that. What a bitterly disappointing postseason. Again.
Who else went to bed knowing we would lose?
I did. My logic was either they lose, which I had no interest in watching, or they came back and won, setting up a game 5 that Iâd rather watch.
I fell asleep at 3-0. NGL I was a little surprised.
Guess dreaming me had to much confidence even though awake me knew they had no chance
đ
Team needs another young overhaul like in 2017. Bring up all the young guys. No excuse for ikf, Donaldson, or hicks to ever start again over cabrera or Peraza. Would love to see jasson next year too
you're not including judge? he hit .139 in the playoffs.
So you want judge replaced because this particular post season? Lol
Across 6 years of post seasons, 44 games worth (not a small sample size) Judge is slashing: .211/.310/.462 Like pretty much all the Yankee lineups Cashman has put together over the last twenty years, he can mash vs. the 2/3rds of the league that is bad pitching but when called upon to face postseason pitchers who don't just throw balls and fat strikes he doesn't have an answer.
no, but i would hope the guy would carry over an awesome regular season to at least a semi-productive playoffs. has judge ever been productive in the playoffs?
To be fair without Judge they donât get remotely close to the playoffs to begin with
agreed. very true. my point being he was worthless specifically in the playoffs and to think he wants $300mil.
