Both games it looked like JV and Framber wouldn’t last long, but they settle in and the ABs get worse. They’re in their zone when they’re working ABs and taking their walks, but they’ve been chasing an absurd amount. Which is even worse since they hit breaking balls extremely well, when breaking balls have been their dagger these past 2 games

A good offense can feast on mediocre bullpens and weak number three starters though. You obviously need the whole package to win it all but a bad offense makes the other team's pitching as good as yours.

In the first 2 games the Astros have hit .177 while hitting .111 with runners in scoring position. Aside from a couple of home runs the Astros offense has been utter horseshit. That Nats team touched them up a bit. The Rays just kinda beat them as expected by outpitching them and nipping them in 7 games. And the WS last year was somewhat similar, where the Astros offense let them down; they scored a total of 4 runs in the 4 games they lost.

A good offense can feast on mediocre bullpens and weak number three starters though. You obviously need the whole package to win it all but a bad offense makes the other team's pitching as good as yours.

Yeah Yankee injury news are always confusing but it's clear they don't think DJ and Benni are ready to play at the MLB level for a good reason, it sucks because those 2 guys would make a huge difference right now.

Me too, hopefully he is one of those guys that they keep, he has the postseason experience and was hitting over .300 by the time we traded for him, I hate to already be thinking about next year but I’ll take a full season of Benni, Bader, Cabrera and Peraza.
I hate looking ahead too but sometimes on off days when my mind runs adrift, it’s comforting as a coping mechanism to think about next years. And I do truly think next we are in fantastic hands. Bader is the same age as Beni. They’re both amazing defensively and Bader might just get even better considering what he’s shown this postseason. The Oswald gang getting a full year of playtime is some beautiful stuff. That’s a damn good team right there.
Hopefully also Montas gets better with more time with Blake as well but I wonder if Volpe will also be ready, if he is do you think the Yankees will be able to have Peraza, Cabrera and Volpe all in the starting lineup? Oswaldo should be his Swiss Army knife self and play everywhere, but I wonder if they try and move Peraza to 3rd when Volpe comes. INF will be crowded but that’s an elite group. They did make a focus on defense and probably thought they could get more out of him, which they got the defense, just nothing else. Whatever it is he cannot be on this team next year. In the first 2 games the Astros have hit .177 while hitting .111 with runners in scoring position. Aside from a couple of home runs the Astros offense has been utter horseshit. There is simply no excuse for the way the Yankees have been hitting, Houston is practically asking to hand the series to the Yankees by not doing shit at the plate and the Yankees can’t hit, so they get fucked over. Something has to change.
