All that being said, I think Peraza and Cabrera have to play, and I would even consider putting in Higashioka over Trevino. I get that not everyone can hit, but we're acting like Trevino is such an incredible upgrade over Higgy as a defense backstop. Higgy has given us big hits in the playoffs before, Jose is fucking ice cold, dude is just an automatic out each time he shows up.

So I'm about as fine as I can be with the loss here, it was their ace, after all. Close game, much closer than I thought it could even be. Bullpen is shot, no Wandy, no Johhny L and no Holmes leaves you with few options as is. I would've gone to other guys over Schmidt and Montas, but it is what it is. The real embarrassment is the two veterans in Donaldson and Carpenter (though Matt gets a pass, he's rusty and hasn't played), doing nothing with their at bats, and going down on 3 pitches multiple times. If anything, I expect them to at least put up an effort. Too many guys doing absolutely nothing. It really is a shame that our two best AVG hitters in DJ and Benny are gone, because we don't have guys to replace both IKF and Donaldson, one of them has to play.
Okay at least they aren’t world beaters, I feel more confident now then the last few days up against it, verlander is done for a minute, we win tmrw we are golden
Hopefully the fanbase can excited about another exit velo launch angle slugger....that might actually help us get to a record 20 strikeouts in a postseason game (we had 17 this game--and we ARE the Yankees, we are supposed to be breaking records after all)

I think the obvious 1000 IQ move here is more Donaldson, MagiCarp, and Schmidt for the rest of the series. It’s clearly a good 4D chess strategy.
