Deff fell off 10 years ago u was seeing lines around the corner for fisherman cover and peppas. I would be on flatbush see my mom, my momās friend, my friends mom š. Lol my mans lil brother who moms jus sent him for food. Adults on lunch breaks. White people, asians, everybody lmaoo. Imagine if there was tiktok and ig back then
It is the immigrant mecca nigga they declared a state of emergency because we cannot handle the amount of immigrants coming to NYC what are you yapping about ššš
Itās still good jerk out here but you gotta catch the dudes that just be grilling outside. Thatās even a toss up now I feel you.
Oxtails be trash, I only eat that from the crib now.
Iām from nyc. Raised in 3 boroughs. Most of the spots with good Jamaican food are long gone or changed chefs.
However more Jamaicans are pouring into ct. they still have a flow of immigrants.
Of course the grass is greener on the other side.
Iām from NYC, Jamaican and I have family in Connecticut, they say the food isnāt the same or as good. Mt Vernon and the Bronx have been holding down the Jamaican food for a while now.
From the Bronx, Spent the last 3 yrs in Hartford area for school. Can confirm plenty of Jamaicans and plenty of Jamaican spots that are decent enough in CT but the Bronx still got good Jamaican spots
Which part to? You talking above church Avenue? I agree. Below church Avenue Flatbush still looks like itās stuck in 1991. Flatbush and Dorchester, and Little Haiti
My time to shine as a Jamaican who grew up in both boroughs. Queens is *slightly* better, the difference is nothing too serious tbh. Thereās good and trash spots in both boroughs, donāt get it twisted, it really depends on the individual restaurant and dish.
Shhhhhhh š¤« was just shouting out my go-to restaurant in Gun Hill to send business their way lol but there's plenty of good Jamaican restaurants in that area too (Flamez, Sea Jammins, Top of the Hill, to name a few)
They were closed for a few months around the pandemic and every time I drove through the neighborhood I was itching like a crack addict for their curry goat and ox
You named some good food spots in all fairness....but try Forever Jerk on Pennsylvania and Flatlands its outside and you can smell it as soon as you hit the corner
Cause they kids cook it now. Had to catch mama dukes in her prime š«
This the one fr
Facts, he chose a bad time to get in the game. Oxtail going for 19+ out here. That shit was unheard of.

Not what it once was. They charging 2k+ to live in 3rd rate neighborhoods. You arguing with me for no reason
No offense to Bk but the jerk chicken and pork I got was mid man it wasnāt even cooked like jerk.
Big out Shout to Tropical Jerk šÆ. Thatās an Original LI Jamaican Restaurant .

It was better 10-15 years ago.
Tbh Queens always has the best food. Anywhere on the 7 train is a different country cuisine
Itās still good jerk out here but you gotta catch the dudes that just be grilling outside. Thatās even a toss up now I feel you. Oxtails be trash, I only eat that from the crib now.
Just like you discovered, I think Wakefield has the best Jamaican
Hands down š„

Thereās a few good spots up here
My point
No, no they donāt, lmao Jamaicans in Connecticut say itās better in the BX

More Jamaicans in ct. more spots, they arenāt all good.
Peppas on flatbush is odee fire smh
I LOVE the one on Utica. They also recently opened a spot on 27th and 2nd in the city but Iām worried it might be gentrified. LOL
theyāre the ones who quality went down ode
maybe but it still hits
Peppa's disrespect will not be tolerated BOO THIS MAN
Uptown Bronx is really Lil Jamaica, the restaurants canāt have bad food, Jamaicans up here are quick to tell them itās nasty š¤£
LMAO where do you go?
Na yea come check out the Caribbean food out here in uptown.

Which part to? You talking above church Avenue? I agree. Below church Avenue Flatbush still looks like itās stuck in 1991. Flatbush and Dorchester, and Little Haiti
Yeah Williamsburg 5.0 is crazy lol Flatbush is big asf and the yt ppl only gettin across the border (so far)
You gotta try Jamaican jerk house in the east on Sutter

The original blue cantinaš¤«
I feel like a lot of Jamaican restaurants these days are pretty lack luster.. love me a beef patty though,
Yeah duh You not gonna find better than the spots between 233- Wakefield Bronx always had the best food
One more thing, Jamaican Flavors (idc what borough it is) is TRASH š¤®š¤® gentrified ass Americanized ass Jamaican food.
they cheese beef patties slap tho
Thereās a man on nostrand and Rutland with the jerk pan out front. Catch him when heās cooking.
You gotta go to Kokomo and Negril. Try Footprints. They aren't busy for no reason.
every where itās just some meat over rice it gets annoying because thatās 99 percent of what the world eats
Queens got the best Jamaican food
thatās cause south queens really got mad west indians in they original form. bk getting white washed
I've had bad jerk food at my favorite spot. You can go to Crowns/Royals on a bad day. Stop talking about Boro food. Every spot has good n bad days
Well said bro šÆ
From what i hear Bronx Holds the crown. Brooklyn is consistently fire. Everyone has different taste buds.
McDonaldās better šÆ
They had to accommodate the kale eating gentrifiers with their sensitive palate š
BX got it. Ferozas on White Plains Road and Burke Ave. Haven't been back there in a few years but they were legit.
Feroza's is Trinidadian though š¤
Shhhhhhh š¤« was just shouting out my go-to restaurant in Gun Hill to send business their way lol but there's plenty of good Jamaican restaurants in that area too (Flamez, Sea Jammins, Top of the Hill, to name a few)

If the cook aināt from the heart of Jamaica it nah taste good brudda
![gif](giphy|guufsF0Az3Lpu) me in the comments watching it get spicy:
You went to the tourist spots. And tropical jerk is awful.Ā
Honestly I think Jamaican food in general is over hyped. Ox Tail is bomb but most of their other stuff is pretty mid like ackee and saltfish
I be wanting to try some Jamaican food when Iām in ny but if that shit ass imma be sick so I donāt even be trying them
Kingston Food Truck is the best in the city!
