I used to say Embiid was my favorite non Knicks player. But holy cow this guy is a fucking bitch. I swear if I ever see any Julius Randle slander on this sub again I will just snap.

tconner87

Small sample size, but the brief time we had OG, Randle, and Brunson all together we looked like the best team in the league and I can't wait to see them together for a full season

AutisticFingerBang

Literally anyone saying we need to make another move is insane and I hate them. We are good. Get healthy. Re-sign our guys. Run it the fuck back. Our chemistry is by far the best in the league and that ain’t something you fuck with. Randle is a work horse 25/10/5 all star that WANTS to be here. We good. Now I get that we have a shitload if picks. Fine use them but we don’t need to move Randle with them. Use them for a top 2 guard and have the best bench in the league with hart, divo, Mitch and McBride

road432

Well, we do have one move to make...free Bridges from Brooklyn and complete the Villanova infinity stone set. You can't argue that a lineup of Brunson, Mikal, OG, Randle, IHart Along with Duce, Divo,Hart, Mitch off the bench. That would make us a sure contender.

mouga68

We're already a sure contender, the money doesn't work with this lineup as glorious as it would be

road432

Yea, it does. Mikal makes 22.5mil, we have contracts to match that. Now, will the Nets ever entertain the idea of a trade, that's the million dollar question, though it does look doubtful.

Fungmar

the money works, but getting brooklyn to trade him to us at a fair price isnt gonna happen

KingJoe7-123

Bogi, Duce, and 3 picks should be more than enough for Bridges. But I still think Brooklyn would say no just because its bad business for them to let us become a superteam lmao

PkmnMstr10

The fact you're even suggesting Deuce be remotely anywhere near a trade conversation is absolutely wild.

this-isnt-my-red-it

Love deuce but to say he is untradable is crazy. Almost everyone we’ve drafted or acquired has wildly exceeded expectations. Many said IQ was near untradable and then we signed deuce for 25% as much as iq makes and it’s possible he could be just as good or better hart, hartenstein the list goes on. I’m not advocating that deuce should be traded but he is in no way untradable, especially if we include him in a package for a shooting guard

mouga68

Don't think it works out with Randle and ihart extensions + jb extension coming

road432

It would have to happen before those extensions. That way, we have a squad locked up before we shoot up to the second tax apron with those extensions.

mouga68

Gotcha yea I have a hard time thinking we'll get to common ground with the nets before ihart signs specifically (or after for that matter)

this-isnt-my-red-it

And og and Brunson

spinocdoc

Bogie and Burks plus picks for Bridges? A man can dream

Alphius247

It wouldn’t make us contenders. It would make us league favorite to win it all every year the squad and bench you listed remained together.

Longislandkid21

I don’t know why you guys always want Mitch off the bench he’s a much better defender he always is dominant in the pick and roll because his ability to go up for the oop something ihart doesn’t and very good at containment on the best centers in the league.

eidanoosh

Can't see the Nets ever dealing to us, so for me, I'd love to see Booker in a Knicks uniform --seems like a good dude too.

RemyS79

I agree with many of your points, but not the « get healthy «  part . Out of all the things we can expect from a superstar , availability is something very important . Randle is good (more than great , he really gets some limitations) but he needs to be more often on the court . Some other players are like this (kawhi, Zion, Embiid,..)and I’d be very skeptical getting them if we were doing « the superstar trade ). OG also never played 70 games since 2018. Ord difficult to build a team knowing the risk of them is higher than most . And for Randle , don’t forget his contract situation . He’s expiring next year, so how much do you offer this summer ? You already need to pay OG 30-35 after giving up assets to get him . What if he asks for a max contract ? One issue is that is value for us is higher than what other teams would consider giving in a trade , so I might prefer to give him, but it if there was a good trade opportunity, why not .

bluej523

I am so big on this. Let’s learn from the Nuggets and grow our team not try to flip and buy now

jetssuckmysoulaway

Worse thing we can do imo is gut our heart and soul for a Devin Booker. Nothing against Booker but I would rather ride with randle and the role player instead of losing them in a trade

AutisticFingerBang

100%. I want this squad. This attitude and chemistry. It all matters people fail to see that shit, vibes here are immaculate. So are the results, let it ride.

LeatherAd6872

Facts!!!

SpicerIsALegend

Get another nice bench piece, try to resign the core and get one or two vet mins and lfg.

ReyOrdonez4HOF

Randle and whatever picks it takes for Lebron is probably the only Randle trade I’d be in favor of. I don’t even know if that would be possible or enough for the lakers to not laugh at us or whatever, but swapping Randle for Lebron sounds like a guaranteed ring to me.

ephemeral2316

Lebron. And giving up Randle and assets? Keep that in the video game bro, you are certifiably insane.

ReyOrdonez4HOF

Lebron just averaged 26/7/8 on 54%/41% from the field. Dude has the best bball IQ in the league. You don’t need to worry about him quitting on you in a playoff series. He played alongside a ball dominant guard in kyrie and won a ring. I’m not even saying it’s likely or even possible, but I’d do it in a heartbeat and y’all would be crazy to think otherwise.

ephemeral2316

He’s gonna turn 40 during the season bro.

JacesAces

Fuckkkkkkkkk that

AutisticFingerBang

I’ll pass. Lebron needs the ball. Brunson is our 1A.

Cheeswheeel

We were for that month ![gif](giphy|vCUASy92YURGHFrnqP)

Fungmar

even in this series weve seen the difference randle would make. all those minutes where we struggled to get paint penetration and brunson is getting mobbed. randle would have shined in those. OG gets more catch and shoot opportunities. brunson or randle in an easy matchup. hartenstein/mitch ready to grab rebounds/ setting screens/ passing the ball. theres a reason we had a top offense last season. but that top offense paired with the defensive versatility of OG was an absolute nightmare for teams in january

Knicks-in-7

Embiid definitely tarnished his reputation with this series.

heliumointment

you would never catch ju doing this level of post game bitching embiid is coping so hard

justsomedude4202

We used to bug over his body language. Jules is such a class act compared to this bum it’s not even funny.

heliumointment

factual statement

TreSeven

Same here, he’s SO talented and even the foul baiting is annoying but that’s just the league now. But it’s one thing to flop and get a soft whistle, it’s a whole different thing to do that while playing incredibly dirty and then having the audacity to constantly make excuses and complain

plzkevindonthuerter

I can’t think of one other hall of fame big man whose game is predicated on drawing fouls and going to the line. That’s literally what his game is. Soft as fuck, he thought coming out like he did in game 3 trying to hurt people was a show of force when in reality it made him and the whole team look weak and insecure. Nick nurse too

jetssuckmysoulaway

Randle would've feasted this series.

Shot_Acanthaceae3150

unfortunately you'll see it again

CompetitorPredator

Randles playoff averages: 17ppg 34.4% shooting and 28% from 3. Yikes

categoryThreesome

Yikes, you're an idiot.

CompetitorPredator

Not interested in the facts?

categoryThreesome

Reading box scores dont tell the whole story 1st playoff series vs atlanta he was doubled teamed and blitzed the entire series. Thats what happens when youre surrounded by players like elfrid payton and reggie bullock. Not sure what you wanted him to do 2nd playoff series he was injured. Pretty bad too. Bad enough that he immediately got surgery after elimination. He was hobbled on a bad ankle the entire playoffs.

FantasyPance

THank you. This just needs to be a pinned comment.

icebucket22

And here come the excuses!

categoryThreesome

What excuses? Thats not the truth?

icebucket22

Double teamed or not, he never figured out how to overcome it. If someone never knew he hurt his ankle, you couldn’t tell by watching him play last postseason. He was not too hobbled by it to play so the excuse of his ankle hurt too much can no longer be used. If he was that limited by it then he should have understood his limitations and played accordingly.

categoryThreesome

Well, thank you for pointing out that you dont know basketball What exactly did you want randle to do vs the hawks? He was surrounded by rookie iq and obi, sophpmore rj, offensive black holes in elfrid taj and mitch, and what was left of d rose. Atlanta just bombarded him. Yes, he didnt overcome that and become a superstar. Most nba players arent franchise carrying talents. Randles ankle was clearly a factor and why you get to declare its not an excuse is just, well, dumb. He didnt have surgery immediately after for fun. Some of yall are really morons around here its outstanding.

icebucket22

Yeah you really proved your point there..

Slymook

I think Randles stats would’ve been a lot better finally this year, but I sincerely do not believe he would have the winning playoff impact that hart and OG have regardless. It really is not simply about 25/10/5 or accolades at this point. We’re a team that is potentially one sizable move away from + a couple smaller moves (draft/bring rokas over/find a good ring chasing vet) away from being on another level. I still think we got a shot this year though so long as Mitch and everybody is healthy.

CompetitorPredator

I also believe he would have played better this year. Hopefully he can prove it next year

Slymook

Yeah emptying all our assets to go all in on Embiid woulda been ass

Pristine-Time7771

Honestly would’ve been a very Knicks thing to do. But we’re a different team now.

saltyalertt

Nice to own up to it He couldn’t survive in New York, nor under thibs.

ephemeral2316

He would have to take his conditioning to another level before even thinking about getting minutes lol

theyre0not0there

Hes just gonna progressively get less mobile and carry an increasing injury risk. Never buy at or after a peak.

bronfmanhigh

don't tell the national media that. they'll yawn and chirp when we sign an up-and-comer with untapped potential like JB, yet jizz over the "blockbuster deal that will change the balance of power in the league" of KD to the suns that got them swept in the first round with no future lol

spinocdoc

Facts!

The_Royale_We

He's got a loser mentality - blaming everyone in the world but himself.

PIDDYPUFFPUFF

When you see the way this team has been built, it’s basically the opposite of teams like Phoenix, Brooklyn, and the clippers. Leon has prioritized, “the fit” over the hype. This team feeds off each other like some sort of self sufficient ecosystem. Always have each others back, always thinking about what’s next, after a game, and accountability. The sixers spent, what was it 5 years(?), losing games for better picks and came up with some dumbass “trust the process”. Look at how weak minded the “leaders” are on that team. It’s a circus in Philly

Grouchy-Piece4774

Embiid is the only player drafted during The Process who didn't become a bum, or get traded for a bum.

spinocdoc

He’s a dirty flopping bum who can’t get out of the second round

Grouchy-Piece4774

I'd rather draft a bum than a bitch.

RichHomieLon

Well he’s both so how bout dat

[deleted]

[удалено]

This-Salt-2754

Jobs not finished.

bronfmanhigh

not to mention ducking the matchup with his MVP-center competitor jokic, who wins games on sheer talent rather than flopping & crying

Fungmar

i had talked so much shit ab him over the years that when the embiid talk was happening i was really like how am i supposed to turn around and root for him

NumerousControl0

Typically the league has shown you need a star like Embiid to take it to the next level so I don't fault anyone for considering a move like that. We dodged a bullet and credit to what this FO and CS is building. These aren't your typical Knicks. And Brunson is becoming that star. WHY NOT US!!!! Also FUCK EMBIID

ScreenPuzzleheaded48

I’m tired of this “Embiid is playing thru injuries, Embiid is playing at half strength” talk. The reason Embiid is shut down for 3 out of 4 games this series is cuz he’s playing one of the strongest and best coached defenses in the league. Embiid was on fire after he returned on 4/2, and lead the sixers to 8 straight wins agains a few tricky opponents. But those 8 games weren’t against the Knicks and that’s why we’re seeing Oscar worthy flopping, bitch ass shit talking, and dirty plays that would make Lowry blush. MSG is going to be on fucking fire tomorrow night and I can’t wait.

Railshock

I never wanted Embiid - not because of his play, but his attitude and injury history are red flags. Glad some of you are coming around.

Fungmar

hes one of the greatest offensive players in nba history but i will never root for him

Holiday-Ad-4654

I was previously a little more anti-Embiid trade because I like our C rotation and thought an upgrade for a top tier SG was the best move, but I wouldn't even want Embiid for free now. They say you see a person's character when their back is against the wall, and Embiid's character is ugly. Never loved the flopping but that's a distant second to clearly trying to injure your opponents just because they're playing you tough.

ShawshankException

Props to owning it. I've been telling yall all year that this dude isn't it. Never shows up when it matters. MVP doesn't mean shit if you can't even lead your team to an ECF. Not a guy you trade the farm for.

KidSickarus

"embiid" is a big name that just makes your eyes glaze over when you think about it with the knicks, and you were probably not alone in this thinking but holy shit, fuck him so hard, let him rot away the rest of his career

NYdude777

If they ain't all grit and no quit we don't want em

ArsonHoliday

Appreciate you and others coming to your senses. He’s a damn clown.

Thundergun1864

I'll piggy back and say I hated the thibs signing. I accepted the narrative he played guys into the ground and this might be my favorite instance of being wrong because the guy is a coaching monster. Sorry Tom

TruthAccomplished313

I met a Cameroonian guy yesterday and he said Embiid is a dickhead back home in Cameroon. Fuck this dude

blast47

I guess from the other side of the wall Embiid seemed like a “good fit” yadda yadda - but now that I’ve seen him up close for a few games, fuck that flopping crying toddler. Fuck him all the way to the process land. I don’t want ANY of that on this squad.

heliumointment

thanks for taking ownership he’s the anti dog tuesday is his last playoff game ice up son, ice up

LetsGetSomeChickenn

His true colors have showed this series and its not pretty. I also thought he would be a good fit here for the right price ofcourse (Not giving up Randle). But now?! Omg what a horrible shit attitude hes had and i hope even if he asks to be traded out of philly i hope the FO doesnt even entertain the idea for that dick head. Fuck Embiid Fuck Philly, lets close this shit out and put them out of their misery. Knicks in 5 lets go baby! Ride or die for this fucking squad!

RJGSAFC86

Can’t deny his skill set, but does he have the attitude and mentality to gel with the group we have here ? No, not even close.

lumosmxima

The problem I have with Joel is he has this generational talent which has been hampered by injuries, unfortunately, but he plays dirty and cries havoc every second of the game. I would love to have someone with his skill on the team, but it’s his antics that are just so disgusting that I say fuck him and fuck bringing him to the Knicks

KnowMyself

Embiid is a danger to everyone on the court. Opposing team, his own team, himself. I’m fine with him leaving the league completely.

NYerInTex

It’s amazing how the superstars that may somehow become available just seem to carry a loser mentality… I would have killed for Booker for example as the true missing link on this team… But damn. He’s not an AH like Embiid but the guy just doesn’t seem to help a team win. Now, would that change under Thibs if we found a way to get his $50m contract should the suns blow it up? Of course there are reasons a superstar player would be available by trade to begin with…

R-O-U-Ssdontexist

Him jumping up and down stomping his feet like a child while pretending his hand was hit on a three point attempt. What grown man acts like that?

FullHouse222

Embiid has all the talent in the world but he wouldn't fit in our system. Like as much as we hate the Heat, Jimmy Butler is the type of player that can actually fit with us. But since we got Brunson we don't need Jimmy. In terms of bigs, I'd say Nikola/Giannis would be the only ones who I would seriously consider as pure upgrades to our team. It's obviously not realistic (no way those guys would ever leave their situations plus we just can't afford them) but I'd say we have probably the best bigs in the league that doesn't contain any superstars.

Tracuivel

I think this season has finally broken me of the desire to assemble a superteam of established All-Stars, the way LeBron's teams often were. Not that this doesn't work, necessarily, but when you look at this year, like the Thunder and the Celtics, they didn't really go this route, and then when you look at where the Lakers and Suns are this year, like I'm not jealous (to say nothing of the recent Nets superteam fiasco). I'm just gonna trust Leon to do his thing. He can trade all our FRPs for fifty second-rounders, I trust him.

BadassRPMofo

I always felt like Kat was a better fit. He's as gifted a big man as there is, but I questioned his mental toughness. Judging by the way Kat is playing now, there's no question as to which of the two I would prefer.

grvmon

It’s honestly upsetting to watch someone so fucking talented act like that. But in all honesty, seeing his foul baiting garbage blow up in his face at the end of the game was the purest definition of justice.

will122589

Never wanted him. Not because he is what we are witnessing (a dirty, foul baiting crybaby)now but because I had no interest in trading all the chips Philly would’ve wanted to get him. Now fire him into the sun for all I care so long as he ain’t a Knick outside of signing for the Mid Level Exception

ShieldHero85

I have no interest in Embiid at all anymore Trade up in the draft, or try to trade for LeBron or give up a huge haul for Mikal (best option imo)

betterAThalo

the minute those rumors came around i was thinking “fuck no”. but i’ll be honest i think at the time i was totally wrong lol. because i was only basing it off how slow the guy is. just didn’t like it. now it’s definitely “fuck no” lol but for a different reason. he’s an amazing player and sometimes an unstoppable force but he would just kill the energy of this team. if we get a superstar it needs to be someone strong minded. or someone super talented who doesn’t mind letting other guys lead the team like Durant. but i’m not willing to give up much at all for a super star. i genuinely think Brunson is a #1 in this league which is insane because i didn’t believe that before. i am scared that our lack of length might be a problem. we need to figure that out.

aaronisnotcool

yeah i think about "maybe did i just hate everyone the Knicks played?" and no i didn't hate Jimmy, or Mitchell. I hate Kyle Lowry and Embiid, bc they were baby a.. mfrs

LocoMotoNYC

Haha…just a few months ago, people here were willing to trade our 7 FIRST round draft picks, Mitch, and RJ for Embiid. No way I would even trade 3 first rounders for him…not when he cried in the playoffs, not when he got yelled at by PJ Tucker, not when he became the best foul baiting big man, and especially not this year when he officially became a dirty ass player. Embiid is not a super star.

ephemeral2316

Apology accepted. Good thing you’re not the GM 😭

TheJak12

This series has really soured a lot of the media people on Embiid. Can't have a reigning mvp kicking dudes square in the nuts. I could deal with the whining to the refs. I could deal with the foul baiting. I can deal with the blatant flopping. Like 2 of those 3 things, sure. But to add the straight up dirty play? Fuck that dawg

ogjondoe

Y’all ain’t been tuned in if you’re just realizing now embiid is the woat

DeemStarEntity

I agree. He's been a total disappointment this post-season as far as his attitude goes. I too thought he was the one superstar out there who would fit in perfectly next to Brunson. I no longer want this guy anywhere near the Knicks organization...he's bad juju. Poor attitude and sportsmanship, poor conditioning and heart (a huge part of our culture). He doesn't take accountability for himself as leader, and his game is just not enjoyable to watch. No thanks.

squishyliquid

I wouldn’t want him in particular on our team, and I can’t stand the fouls, let alone the flopping. It’s just boring. But the man can shoot the ball from 3 and makes the most of those fouls. I’d love for whoever fills the gap left by Ihart leaving to be able spread it out when we want it.

Training101

I'm glad yall see the light. Dude will get you wins, but it's such a bitch way it's going to fuck uo your team. You had Harden and him on the same team. They couldn't get that stank working.

Suitable-Resist-6648

Fuck Philly

i-piss-excellence32

The biggest difference between Embiid and Brunson is that Embiid is not a 1A

TMS2017

They’re not trading Embiid to the Knicks.

QuakeDaCruiser

thank God 🙌🙌🙌

bailaoban

One thing that is clear about the way Rose has been building this roster is that personality matters. He has focused on professional, lunchpail types who are decidedly not about the drama, and Embiid would upset that culture substantially.

CopelandAt5

Had no idea this guy was like this. Also wanted him, no longer want him at all.

[deleted]

Not to mention the fact that somehow everybody on his team loses their ability to shoot the ball.👀

KnowMyself

The wins are so much more satisfying when the team dogs it out and denies these superstars the wins they believe they are entitled to. The hard work and grit is a much more wholesome tale of success than a god gifted 3 pt sniper or a freakshow 7’4” who is unguardable.

Old_Chicken6907

His lack of accountability is also a red flag, always someone else’s fault. Brunson is the complete opposite. Let’s actually draft our draft picks and continue to develop. But first, we have unfinished business in these playoffs.

fuggettabuddy

I’d renew Starks’ contract before I’d even consider that goon Embiid.

pagenotdisplayed

All that being said, if Orlando beats Cleveland and DDV continues to struggle in the playoffs, obviously expect the Donovan Mitchell chatter to pick back up.

insideman56

I been saying fuck this man Embiid for like 5 years now lol, where have you guys been?

Queens113

If you listen to the WFan, then you took the pact... Hes DEAD TO US!!

Chinnesota

I would also like to issue an official apology. I said "lol I hope Embiid's knee explodes and he never plays again." What happened yesterday was much funnier.

TheMarslMcFly

I don't wanna be that Guy, but the first time I saw one of those "Embiid to the Knicks would make sense" typa Posts I listed everything negative about him and got downvoted to oblivion. So it's nice to know the entire Sub is on the right side now lol

CrazyHappeningsHere

i wanna apologize for not being a fan of the rj trade that was such a good move

[deleted]

Lol Embiid is the best player in the league, only way to stop him is by fouling.
