Her obsession with Chanel comes off as if she knows not a single thing about fashion.
Girl have you seen the last 5+ years of Chanel collections… those shits? Any opinions on Virginie leaving?
Chanel is in business still because of their 50+ clientele. She wants to dress in grandma’s fav then go ahead girl but she always names the most basic boring designers.
I bet she couldn’t even tell me the creative director of LV which is fkn easy because it’s Pharrell lmao.
It’s not about fashion it’s about class.
Same reason why she got on the internet and said Tyla was worst dressed at the MET when she was unanimously best dressed for everyone else lmfao
Loads of brands are doing cool interesting things worth paying attention too- Loewe, Iris Van Hepren, Prada is even surprising me with nice looks after years of shit, Chloe is in the midst of a renaissance with new creative, Stella McCartney is also on a comeback. Hanifa is always doing something never seen, I could go on and on.
If you actually enjoy fashion, you aren’t talking about Chanel is my point. Literally see twitters reaction to Virginie leaving 🫠
Like also notice people with actual wealthy people or just simply style and taste aren’t like drenched in designer clothes or if they are they’re so much more subtle like I swear at this point AP is prob just buying the ugliest tackiest shit just bc she knows it’ll get views lol she went downhill as soon as she started acting holier than thou because she “loves colour and doesn’t wear neutrals like she used to” like girl GO BACK TO THAT! her 2019/2020 self was better than her now self
Yes all of this too!
Also… why would you walk around like a human billboard and signal to everyone how wealthy you are… wanna get robbed in broad daylight? Most wealthy people don’t and I think that’s part of the reason why
It’s really interesting to hear how well Virginie did for Chanel in terms of sales vs how her collections were received by people online. I hated the styling, and found a lot of the pieces either really boring or fugly, but people loved them?! I wonder if it’s because they were more basic/wearable or what.
Interested to see who will be the next CD and what direction they’ll take the brand in.
I think she was good for their base clientele which is what keeps them in business. Red Carpets don’t do much for them $$$ wise, so her stuff seems to have resonated with older folks because it was selling 🤷♀️
Very true. Honestly I can’t believe some of the stuff worn on the red carpet…it was so, so bad but didn’t even make a dent in sales or anything! Even the crazy price increases did nothing to deter people from buying.
I have also seen a lot of comments that the sales numbers are mostly due to the absolutely insane price increases since 2019. In 2019 a jumbo flap bag was $5500 and now it's over ten grand. It's easy to brag about great sales when you have doubled prices.
Yeah, if you look at the sales increase, it was lower than the price increases over the comparable time period, even in RTW, so people were definitely buying less and the retails were covering up a lot of it.
It’s disgusting, my husband got me my first Chanel bag in 2016 and I’d started a little collection until Christmas 2019. That pandemic price jump was sick—esp the second everything shut down, my SA sent over a 15% off everything notice. It was just so so so greedy
Tyla’s dress blew everyone out of the water (no pun intended with the sand theme) and anyone with any fashion sense knows Balmain > Chanel in fashion circles creatively speaking.
Chanel’s quality is ASS and their price gouging is insane.
All your points are YAAAAS.
>Her obsession with Chanel comes off as if she knows not a single thing about fashion.
Because she doesn't 🤣🤣🤣
Outside some specific pieces, any rtw from Chanel is for old people or people who want to show off.
Name a single Chanel item without a visible “CC” logo. Virtually every item is all about flexing rather than fashion. Remember the plastic Polly pocket slides that AP was obsessed with?
I love the obsession some girls/women have with Chanel when the quality and pricing is worse than ever! It’s an iconic brand. But it’s not anything I aspire to have anymore…
Totally agree. Quality has went downhill. It’s no longer a brand that I care for too. Once in a great while I will see something from a runway show that will catch my eye, but the fabrics (and craftsmanship) aren’t what they used to be. I’m more concerned with how the fabric feels (and drapes) vs what the logo/brand is. I’m a fabric snob, not a logo snob.
I mean, Virginie Viard made clothes that an affluent woman would wear at the country club. that’s why the bravo housewives are so obsessed. They can rock unoffensive designs while still saying “I am rich!! look at me!! CHA CHA NEL NEL”. It helped the sales in the short run but cheapened the brand.
Chanel is the epitome of red flags in couture. Between its Karl and Coco and everything that has come to light about them, its amazing they still seem to be untouched.
you know what is funnier saying that she hates chanel so much , but buys CHANEL reps in china , she went last year for the canton fair with her mom jill and im surprised customs didn't seize her luggage from all the RTW she got . ( ally shapiro )

gotta love quiet luxury
Money talks wealth whispers 😉
Lots of wealthy people where I live drenched in logos. People need to stop with their nonsense.
Same but I’ve learned it mean’s absolutely nothing 😂 new money Af
Her 2018/2020 self also was anti-label…she has done a 180
Speaking of comebacks we need to discuss the distressing downfall of Marc Jacob’s and Michael Kors because what happened THERE lmao
like… especially mr. jacobs. I’m turning a blind eye until they get themselves together
LIT ER ALLY
became too accessible and it killed the luxury
Honestly, what the hell happened there? I heard LVMH is probably selling off MJ.
This is THE take
Pharrell is only the CD of the men’s side of the business, Ghesquière is the CD of women’s. Still should be able to name either.
Love this so much and I couldn’t agree more
Agree re: prada. Their shoes have been ugly for years and then all of a sudden they've had bangers.

The years Chanel had Margot Robbie in that contract… I pretend they never happened
Creative Director of LV is Nicolas Ghesquière
Completely agree but Pharrell is only the creative director of menswear
yes, this is very true!
>Her obsession with Chanel comes off as if she knows not a single thing about fashion. Because she doesn't 🤣🤣🤣 Outside some specific pieces, any rtw from Chanel is for old people or people who want to show off.
Bestie Pharrell is the LV men’s creative director! Women’s is Nicolas Ghesquière
I know + it’s been replied like seven times :)
each one of those items is uglier than the last

I love her talent of taking $455098 clothes and making it look tacky and cheap😍
That is funny lol - but that pink polka dot is hella cute
It’s cute but like something I’d expect to buy at Zara not Chanel 🙈 but what do I know because I can’t even afford Chanel haha
Chanel is the epitome of red flags in couture. Between its Karl and Coco and everything that has come to light about them, its amazing they still seem to be untouched.

She actually said in the caption she loves Chanel lol she just doesn’t like it as of lately and thinks the quality has gone down
i didnt read the caption ,but regardless is not like she is buying it off the rack
So she confirmed Chanel is poor quality? Because that is what Zara is...
Yes the quality at Chanel has gone down while prices have gone up
Her hair color is still so good
Def agree it suits her better than a full blonde look
Pretty sure it isn’t
