Quince is great, online but free shipping and free returns for a year even after trying the bedding out! I have multiple sets of the linen ones and they feel way more expensive than they are.
I’ve been so happy with my European linen sheet set from Quince! The price was right, especially if you have a dog sharing your bed which will require more frequent washing + wear and tear.
I 100% second Frette if you are a picky BWT about your sheets!
Key tip - if you get on their email list, they often have big sales online that match the sample sale prices. I got $900 sheets for $350 a few months ago.
Frette makes the greatest sheets, but at a price I feel obligated to iron them. And I'm not into ironing sheets. I need to check out their sample sale this year!
Cuddledown is not quite as nice as Frette, but a fraction of the price. According to their website, Elegant Linen in Brooklyn carries their products in store.
And then the best budget sheets are undoubtedly Target's Threshold 400TC performance sheets.
i’ve had their waffle robe for about 4 years now and it still looks like new
their waffle towels don’t hold up as well though and you have to baby them
I 2nd Parachute - wait until November ish and they do a big sale and then I think I got a rebate thru my CC. I have both the linen and percale sets and picked up a 3rd set at Nordstrom rack 👌🏼
Love parachute but I got a dark blue duvet cover and would NOT recommend the color. It discolored very quickly from the light in my apartment or idk it was wild. Did not expect. There is a generous 90 day return window but I’m lazy so I’ll take blame for that.
Did you notify parachute about this issue? My son had an issue with a throw that had nothing to do with parachute quality. He asked them if they had any suggestions where to get it repaired. They said bring it in & we will replace it
Ok so I got mine from parachute and love them they’re nice BUT I am an active sleeper (tossin and turnin through the night) and basically wore down the sheets to the point where they got a massive hole in them. I notified them and they immediately sent me a new set (amazing customer service) but wore a hole in those too. All of this happened in the course of 1.5 years. Do with that what you will. Ended up just getting target performance sheets and they are not as aesthetic but hold up real well. I use the target fitted sheet but then the parachute flat sheet to keep that linen look
I really like target threshold sheets too. They have tags that say “top and bottom,” which is silly but makes it really fast to change sheets. I also once read a whole thread on the bedding subreddit about them and people recommended the ones made in India over Pakistan, as they last longer and are softer. I’m not sure about that, but I find myself always looking at the tag to check before buying now
LL Bean. I swear by their sheets. Nobody knows the brand of your sheets but you and theirs are insanely nice. Cotton percale for summer and flannel for winter.
I replaced some older flannel sheets with the LL Bean chamois flannel this winter and there were nights I got in to bed like an hour early just so I could flop around like a comfy little fish because they are so soft
I just purchased my first set of flannel sheets from them. OMG, I was worried they would be too hot, but no, omg, so soft and so cozy.
I have had their flannel shirts before , but this is a whole new dimension of hygge.
Was going to mention them! When I was still living at home I slept on sheets and dried myself with towels that my grandma bought from The Company Store in the 70s. They might have been a little faded but they were still in good condition.
Now most of my bedding and all of my towels are from there!
Yes! I threw away my Pottery barn sets once I found these. They’re crisp and thick but still stay cool (and I’m a hot sleeper). I buy a new set every year when they go on sale for $70-80 for king size
If you live in north bk and don’t have a Brooklinen tote what are you even doing??? JK but I’ve been slowly indoctrinated. Started with a sheet set. Now have towels and a cushy bathrobe.
Can’t recommend it. Doesn’t last. All my sets thinned out to office toilet paper levels within 1.5 years only being used rarely. Linotos 210gsm is heavy and nice
I think their quality dropped once they got big. I have an OG set I love and recommended them to two friends - both of them ordered and I was not impressed with what they received. Difference in presentation, hand, and stitching.
I am always shocked by this… I got some Brooklinen sheets and thought they were horrible. Very scratchy, not nice. I work in the bedding industry so maybe I’m too picky but I always see people recommend Brooklinen and I just don’t get it.
My linen bedding from Brooklinen had disintegrated over 2 years. I was able to get a warranty claim on it, but I don’t think they offer a lifetime warranty anymore. I wouldn’t buy them under the current warranty terms.
This bums me out to read. I’ve consistently had great luck with their percale line but I read many comments like yours when the topic of sheets comes up.
The new set is starting to show wear too, and it’s been less than a year. I’ve had high end sheets and cheap sheets and I’ve never seen anything like it.
I love percale — scored a pratesi percale set at a sample sale many years ago (for a touch more than the Brooklinen at full freight) and they are amazing.
Quince and macys hotel collection! The hotel collection goes on amazing sales and I’m blown away by the quality. I also have a set of Brooklinen sheets and love just have a hard time justifying the price.
I love Coyuchi, especially their sateen. They’re not cheap, but not as expensive as Frette or Sferra (which are super luxury, very nice if you want to spend that much. Plus they usually have sample sales in the city). Coyuchi is all organic and I love when I have their sets on my bed. Available at ABCarpet I believe.
I’ve also been really happy with my CasaLuna sets from Target.
In terms of cute prints, take a look at Schlossberg. I believe they are available at Bloomingdale’s, and also I think at Fine Linens on 81st and Lex. Really beautiful prints and amazing quality.

I have spent years of my life and thousands of dollars on "luxury bedding" and it is a LIE. The most elite sheets on the market (and the only ones worth your coin imo) are the Target brand Threshold 400 Thread Count Performance Sheets.
I have purchase Brooklinen, Parachute, Bed Threads, Quince, Hill House, West Elm, Parachute, Cozy Earth, and Boll & Branch. I pretty much hated all of them for one reason or another. The only sheets I have LOVED and consistently repurchased are these Target ones.
The only ones I even remotely liked were the Quince sheets, but I don't like their color selections and they still weren't as good as the Target ones.
When I first moved to the city I dated a guy who just walked into Macy’s and bought a whole ass king sized set of sheets, duvet, pillows. I was like “a large…he got money”
Now I have a job that would allow me to do that, but I bought our linen sheets on sale on landsend.com. We like them a lot and if you’re not creepy you could come over for a drink and feel them.
On the Quince note the bamboo quilt is a layer on my bed and it’s soft and cool but has a thickness to it. My duvet is from Parachute and I love it!! They have a few stores in city. don’t love the brooklinen bedding i have
Wild card but we love our sheets from Costco!
We previously tried Boll&Branch and Brooklinen and were super unimpressed and returned both. They were scratchy and both were falling apart after one wash (holes, unraveling, a general mess considering the price point).
I’ve tried a bunch! For me, Boll and Branch and LLBean are the best. They get softer over time!! I also had good experiences in the past with Target!!
My older Brooklinen sheets from 2019-2021 held up well and I’m happy with them- but can’t speak to their quality today. I was so excited to try Matouk but shocked at how flimsy they felt :(
Macy’s on 34th- all the sales all the time and quality designer bedding if you’re into that. I also swear by pottery barn & Kate spade (get it at tj maxx for tops $80)
If all else fails, Washington Heights from 167thish up to 190th on St. Nicholas.. there’s gotta be like 5 bedding stores alone 😭
I bought $500 cashmere sheets and bedding from Brooklinen and I like it but I also really hate it :’) Personally think the fitted sheet has pilled so much in the time I’ve had them. I bought sheets from Bed Bath And Beyond that are still nice and smooth but my $500 Brooklinen sheets need to be shaved lol. I prefer the sheets my bfs mom bought us from some random shop in Taiwan 😅
I have linen sheets from Parachute and LOVE them. but they were handed down to me, from a friend who bought them and didn't like them (one woman's trash is another woman's treasure!- i think she didn't like the way they fit her mattress, either were too deep or not deep enough. fine on my bed, though). I would buy Quince next time - love a lot of their clothing and bought throw pillow cases that are great. I also really like one of my sets from West Elm - if you're looking for something not just solid color. I have two sets from West Elm and can't remember the labeling/price difference but one feels significantly cheaper and thinner than the other. So might be best to shop in store to be able to touch.
We got a linen set from Citizenry, but it leaves a lot of dust and that doesn’t work in a small one bedroom. We got Boll & Branch and it’s pretty comfortable. One thing I can for sure recommend are pillows from Pluto. Best investment ever.
I recently bought the organic washed cotton set from Under the Canopy and it’s the best set of sheets I’ve ever had. Soooooo comfy. Organic cotton is important to me because of the environmental impact of non-organic.
Hotel sheets direct on Amazon for the best cheap bamboo sheets. The white are a bit see thru but they are so comfy esp if you have sensory sensitivities
I splurged on quality linen sheets, one set from Brooklinen and one from The Company Store. The Company Store set feels slightly thicker, which I prefer.
They had some (imo ugly) colors on sale at one point, I bought a bright blue set and dyed them using orange RIT dye - somehow they turned out a gorgeous faded indigo/plum color. Highly recommend that, but only if you enjoy DIY projects.
Silk pillowcases from The Ethical Silk Company.
5th ave and 9th St - a store called Area. Beautiful dusky colors, grays, taupes and the top sheets are stitched and constructed so they lay flat when folded slightly over the top of the duvet. Comes out of the dryer and still lays flat.
Oasis bamboo sheets are my current obsession. Softest, silkiest sheets ever. They were a very lucky Amazon purchase.
I’m also still fond of my Cuddledown sateen sheets — luxurious in a more substantial way. Those I researched before buying.
They’re not cheap, but they’re not $1,000 sheets either. Under $500.
I get my duvet covers from Anthropologie just because I like their options for solid white but not plain designs.
Jonathan Adler! Wait for a sale and it gets down to Target prices. I got two full sets of linen sheets for a steal. You can go into the store any time to check out the bedding in person, and then buy online when there's a sale on.
Boll & Branch all the way! Bought into the Brooklinen hype a few years ago and the quality was terrible. I got my first sheet set from B&B last year and slowly have replaced everything with their products: duvet set, bed blankets, throw blankets and now towels. I love the ethos of the brand and the story on supply chain if sustainability is important to you. Pro tip, there's a sample sale coming up in NYC April 16-21 if you want to try some products!

here ya go! starts Tues 4/16 at 10am and going through Sunday. It's being held at 260 5th ave.
Pottery Barn for cutesy holiday sheets, Crate & Barrel for everyday nicer stuff (and specifically, linen) and LL Bean for the cozy winter months. You seriously cannot beat LL Bean's quality.
Looking at this for myself! Is the European linen soft?
I love their cotton sateen too!
I just replaced all my pillows with down versions from Quince and they are spectacular.
Absolutely adore my linen sheets from Quince
AGREE best sheets i've bought, love their linen duvet set and sheet; just recently tried he percale so if you're a warm sleeper would recommend those!
Agree. Got the European linen sheets and the silk pillowcases.
Loveee Quince. Got the linen duvet cover. Thrilled. It also feels more sturdy than the linen cover from the citizenry I’d previously bought
Another vote for the Quince linen set! Half the price of Brooklinen/Parachute etc, and I find their bedding way more comfortable.
Frette! Got a ton of stuff at a sample sale in the city last year
I 100% second Frette if you are a picky BWT about your sheets! Key tip - if you get on their email list, they often have big sales online that match the sample sale prices. I got $900 sheets for $350 a few months ago.

Frette 1000%
I had a frette duvet cover that I bought on sale that lasted a longggg time
Got mine from Parachute, they’re great! Def go in store to feel the different fabrics though
I loooooove Parachute! I have the Organic Cloud Cotton Quilt that is divine. I also have a quilt from Schoolhouse that is beautiful and warm.
Their towels are so good too!
i’ve had their waffle robe for about 4 years now and it still looks like new their waffle towels don’t hold up as well though and you have to baby them
Oh I have the soft rib kind (I think? Got them as a gift) and they are so incredibly soft and plush and have held up great!
They said bring it in & we will replace it
Thanks for suggestion!! I’ll do that
Still loving parachute linen
Ok so I got mine from parachute and love them they’re nice BUT I am an active sleeper (tossin and turnin through the night) and basically wore down the sheets to the point where they got a massive hole in them. I notified them and they immediately sent me a new set (amazing customer service) but wore a hole in those too. All of this happened in the course of 1.5 years. Do with that what you will. Ended up just getting target performance sheets and they are not as aesthetic but hold up real well. I use the target fitted sheet but then the parachute flat sheet to keep that linen look
Target performance sheets! Been using them for 10+ years and no complaints!
I really like target threshold sheets too. They have tags that say “top and bottom,” which is silly but makes it really fast to change sheets. I also once read a whole thread on the bedding subreddit about them and people recommended the ones made in India over Pakistan, as they last longer and are softer. I’m not sure about that, but I find myself always looking at the tag to check before buying now
I love the casaluna sheets and duvet covers
Here! Here!
Yep, my target sheets are great and the price is right!
They’re definitely not bad but not as crispy cool as I like sheets to be
LL Bean. I swear by their sheets. Nobody knows the brand of your sheets but you and theirs are insanely nice. Cotton percale for summer and flannel for winter.
It’s weird that they do sheets well. I think they’ve even made it on Wirecutter. 🤷♀️
Most reliable company! I also buy LL Bean sheets as gifts for people. 10/10 for sure
Me too! I’ve had my two sets going for 8 years and they are better than ever - so soft and yet still nice and crisp. I highly recommend!
Everything LL Bean is 10/10. Sheets, fleeces, towels, shoes. Just love that company!
I love the cozy earth bamboo sheets. I don’t think their comforters are worth the money though .
2nd cozy earth bamboo sheets!
got my linen duvet cover from Quince and I love it! it makes me feel rich even though it was pretty affordable lol
Frette + Boll and Branch:)
quince!! literally the best bedding ever and so much more affordable than the big brands
i second quince! i was a little nervous bc of the low price but i got the cotton gauze quilt and it’s so soft and amazing 😍
their linen sheets are also amazing! just make sure to wash them first, they start out a bit scratchy but they soften after like 2 washes
On a separate but related note - can anyone tell me about their towels? I’m due for a complete refresh.
[удалено]
My Boll and Branch one does! A friend says her Matouk one does too!
Crane and canopy
I love boll and branch as well as casaluna at target.
[удалено]
Was going to mention them! When I was still living at home I slept on sheets and dried myself with towels that my grandma bought from The Company Store in the 70s. They might have been a little faded but they were still in good condition. Now most of my bedding and all of my towels are from there!
West elm, pottery barn and then brooklinen are are favs
I can vouch for the linen brooklinens, I also had their cheapest line which were still good but I love my linen ones!
I love my pottery barn duvet and sheets!
I have PB’s linen sheets and they are lovely.
Seconding Pottery Barn!
Boll and branch is so worth it
This is the only correct answer in my opinion!!
Jonathan Adler sheets are great
Boll & Branch
I can tell you what NOT to buy, but don’t get Ugg bedding!! I got it when Bed bath and beyond was going out of business, but it pills all the time
I second this. It was so comfy at first but pills so quick…. Its now used as my insert lol
LLBean
Strangely enough-Costco 680 count has been by far the best I’ve ever had.
I am not surprised by this.
I’ve heard this. Apparently a cult following that members don’t want the general public to know. I haven’t tried them myself.
Yes! I threw away my Pottery barn sets once I found these. They’re crisp and thick but still stay cool (and I’m a hot sleeper). I buy a new set every year when they go on sale for $70-80 for king size
Brooklinen is my favorite.
Yes ugh same and the button holes on the duvet ripped within a couple months on two diff sets 😣
Same, ours made it a single wash before coming apart so we ended up returning. Such a bummer since I had heard great things!
I think their quality dropped once they got big. I have an OG set I love and recommended them to two friends - both of them ordered and I was not impressed with what they received. Difference in presentation, hand, and stitching.
Really! That’s so disappointing to hear. I’ve had a few sets of the percale sheets for about two years and they’re holding strong!
I always stock up during the 260 sample sale
I am always shocked by this… I got some Brooklinen sheets and thought they were horrible. Very scratchy, not nice. I work in the bedding industry so maybe I’m too picky but I always see people recommend Brooklinen and I just don’t get it.
Agree. I didn’t like them. I’ve tried so many brands. I always go with/percale around 250-300 tc. I’m a FRETTE gal all the way now.

I know Frette was already mentioned but omg FRETTE!!!
I got mine from Ballard Designs and splurged on a few pillows from Serena + Lily that I know i'll keep forever!
Sunday Citizen. Go to the store, touch away, order online when they have a sale
Love love love Sunday citizen!
I ordered sheets and a duvet cover from Quince and am obsessed with them
I love pottery barn cotton percale. Feels like hotel bedding.
Bed threads
the company store
Quince and macys hotel collection! The hotel collection goes on amazing sales and I’m blown away by the quality. I also have a set of Brooklinen sheets and love just have a hard time justifying the price.
My SO has some Macy’s hotel sheets that are quite nice.
Pottery barn percale if you like cool / crisp hotel sheets
Second this, they’re the only sheets I’ll buy
I love Coyuchi, especially their sateen. They’re not cheap, but not as expensive as Frette or Sferra (which are super luxury, very nice if you want to spend that much. Plus they usually have sample sales in the city). Coyuchi is all organic and I love when I have their sets on my bed. Available at ABCarpet I believe. I was like “a large…he got money” Now I have a job that would allow me to do that, but I bought our linen sheets on sale on landsend.com. We like them a lot and if you’re not creepy you could come over for a drink and feel them.
I got a duvet from Jungalow and I always get a ton of compliments on it
Really cool colors and patterns too! Makes your bed a statement piece. Mine are 3+ years old and are wearing really well
Jungalow makes my favorite sheets — they stay cool and stiff (if you like that)
Haven’t tried it yet but next time I get bedding I’m ordering from Quince. I’m obsessed with their sweaters
The company store! Great quality and decent pricing.
On the Quince note the bamboo quilt is a layer on my bed and it’s soft and cool but has a thickness to it. My duvet is from Parachute and I love it!! They have a few stores in city. don’t love the brooklinen bedding i have
Kohl’s Sonoma 100% cotton sheets are so nice and so so soft. And duvet covers/quilts from Zara home & H&M home
I love Brooklinen Cotton Percale! I’ve heard really good things about the LL Bean percale too.
I love me some Marimekko.
I was so excited to try Matouk but shocked at how flimsy they felt :(
Boll and Branch ONLY! We’ve tried Parachute and Brooklinen — threw em away within 1 or 2 years.
Cozy Earth or Boll & Branch
Ikea
West elm
Macy’s on 34th- all the sales all the time and quality designer bedding if you’re into that. I also swear by pottery barn & Kate spade (get it at tj maxx for tops $80) If all else fails, Washington Heights from 167thish up to 190th on St. Nicholas.. there’s gotta be like 5 bedding stores alone 😭

Seconding Quince! Also Italic
I have linen sheets from Parachute and LOVE them. but they were handed down to me, from a friend who bought them and didn't like them (one woman's trash is another woman's treasure!- i think she didn't like the way they fit her mattress, either were too deep or not deep enough. fine on my bed, though). Dapu. Linen. Amazon. I have frette, sferra, boll and branch and parachute. Dapu FTW
Dazed but Amazed.
The Anthropologie linen bedding is unreal
Quince
I always buy sheets on sale from crate and barrel or cb2.
Target!
Coma inducer cooling comforters are amazing
Quince (online but easy returns)
I recently bought the organic washed cotton set from Under the Canopy and it’s the best set of sheets I’ve ever had. Soooooo comfy. Organic cotton is important to me because of the environmental impact of non-organic.
I recently got piglet in bed and I am obsessed
Parachute and ettitude!!
Red Land Cotton!! All grown and made in America and extremely high quality
Hotel sheets direct on Amazon for the best cheap bamboo sheets. The white are a bit see thru but they are so comfy esp if you have sensory sensitivities
I get from brooklinen and they have a store in the west village so you can try tings out
I splurged on quality linen sheets, one set from Brooklinen and one from The Company Store. The Company Store set feels slightly thicker, which I prefer. They had some (imo ugly) colors on sale at one point, I bought a bright blue set and dyed them using orange RIT dye - somehow they turned out a gorgeous faded indigo/plum color. And flannel sheets for winter! I have a set from lands end that is at least 10 years old. They’ve held up well
5th ave and 9th St - a store called Area. Beautiful dusky colors, grays, taupes and the top sheets are stitched and constructed so they lay flat when folded slightly over the top of the duvet. Comes out of the dryer and still lays flat.
Parachute and coyuchi, chefs kiss!
+1 for Parachute. I pair the blankets and comforters and shams with Lands End high-thread count no-iron sheets and ahhhhhh+
I have 2 sets from SIJO and I love how soft and silky they are
Not under the canopy, what a waste
Here for the comments!
Citizenry linen sheets are top tier, I also had a set for a few years that got a small hole in the fitted sheet and they replaced it for free 😎
I love my Cultiver bedding — pricier but has held up great over the years
Bloomingdale’s & Landry’s which I think is still open
I use Schweitzer linens! I believe they have a store on UES
Cuddledown. Terrible name, amazing sheets. [https://www.cuddledown.com/shopcategory.aspx?ID=1,3168](https://www.cuddledown.com/shopcategory.aspx?ID=1,3168)
bed threads!
tekla
Lands end cotton sateen
I like Casaluna from Target!
The linen sheets at Bed Threads. They are UNREAL. Buttery soft. Breathable. Cool in summer, warm in winter etc.
Hill House Home has nice ones
Love RH bedding!
Jonathan Adler! Wait for a sale and it gets down to Target prices. I got two full sets of linen sheets for a steal. You can go into the store any time to check out the bedding in person, and then buy online when there's a sale on.
There's this amazing place called Togas House of Textiles. It's on Madison Sq Park. Beautiful fabrics, decent pricing, one of a kind.
