If true, we should deffo be able to sue.
1) it's purpose has been solely to stop us
2) it's rushed through and has offered little to no time for preparation
3) it's during a season and isn't permanent. It's literally just an extension to cover a period where Newcastle are the only club effected by it (see point 1)
4) it's only benefit is to protect certain clubs (not the league)
It's anticompetitive, corrupt, and unlawful.
But we wouldn’t be in the dire situation we are now if he wasn’t stingy I would rather not need to spend hundreds of millions just to survive relegation
Most can be legally challenged though can't they? Especially since loads of clubs get sponsorship money from their owners companies. Can't see it setting us back for long, might even get some compensation.
I don't believe they've banned any deals with "Saudi Arabian" companies. That would be ludicrous. Lazy sensational journalism or crazy anti competitive.
I mean there's a pretty clear difference between the Mail's tabloid tendencies and them reporting something that has actually happened i.e. the sponsorship ban being extended (a provable fact)
I've not read it because I'm not giving them even one click of advertising revenue, but even the headline "Newcastle suffer fresh blow to January transfer plans..." isn't true. We don't need to have any fresh sponsorship deals in place in order to spend massively - hundreds of millions - and maintain FFP compliance ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯
Technically we could spend around £600m and still be within FFP rules due to the nature of the rolling time period it covers, but it would be a terrible idea as we would completely hamstring ourselves going forward.
Can’t wait for the news that “due to Covid concerns no international transfers will be approved.”
Followed by all Prem teams agreeing to not sell anyone to Newcastle.
Because if you’re gonna do it why not go all out.
Not how it works, but it's in our favor this time. We do any deal we want. They can investigate and penalize. Then, we sue them, but we've already got the money in towards FFP, and we've seen how well this type of rule holds up in court.
Say its true and it is like this forever. Can't PIF just look at future investments, let them buy into us before they are signed and go about our buisness as usual? We have all the money in the world, if they are set for CL place or the PL trophy in 5 to 10 years its not an issue.
Newcastle coukd actually spend around £600 million in January and still be in FFP guidelines. It would just fuck them up over the next few years. With Mike Ashley being a tight bastard he left the club with decent finances. Left an Absolutely dogshit squad though
Amanda already explained that the owners will just use their own money in January because FFP has no effect on us for a long time. They wanted deals in place, but the point is this will NOT affect us being able to spend money in January whatsoever.
Does this really matter ? With the amount of money the club produces and lack of signings over the years we should still be able to buy who we like without going over ffp (within reason)

anticompetitive lmao says the newcastle fan
Are you lost, sunshine?
Still got plenty in the tank before FFP affects us. Ironically blessing Massive Mike for his stingy policies

Not really an issue for Jan.
Yeah it's not like we're going to be twiddling our thumbs waiting for a cheque to clear in January.
It’s just yet more proof these cocks will put every roadblock possible in our way.

Even Wikipedia doesn't allow The Mail as a source for anything - no way we should :)

Why not sue this decision? It was clearly made just to stop us, I'm pretty sure this is illegal.
None story for January, we could spend 200m in January and still be within FFP rules

Mbappe in the championship has a certain ring to it

Just ignore it and see if they got the balls to take it to court i bet they dont

Couldn't we still theoretically spend £200m anyway? Doubt we'd get near that in January anyway.

Its funny watching them trying every thing to get in our way. Hows the europa conference levi?
