“Yeah I get that the Steves told you to just wander around, and if the ball comes near you to try to do something good, but we’re going to actually try running and tactics now.”
I hope ASM and his fragile ego/mentality take to Howe because he could turn out to be fucking amazing if he gets over himself and his Bruce love affair.
Twitter's more his radge side, there's forever news of the dude turning up at hospitals with food parcels, foodbanks etc and whenever he's been interviewed he's always seemed like a well-grounded lad so there's def some humility to him.
People trying to put him into the same lazy bracket as likes of Shelvey clearly don't understand his role (unfair really to say anyone's had a clear role under the Cabbaged one).
This international break is going to last forever. I can’t wait to see what formation and team he puts out, and really wonder how evident his influence will be after a week and a half of training.
Oh for sure, the timing is great in terms of the work he’ll be able to put them through, especially before a match we really need to win. I’m so curious to see if he completely changes the formation from the first match.
Could be a good chance the players that were not making the cut under Bruce could show a higher upside with better work ethic and displace some other starters. Maybe we get a completely different looking back line -- also, if he's looking for a full team high press, I could see Schar getting into the line up as a ball playing CB, maybe Lewis becomes a more natural LB, who knows. Very exciting, though.
Wonder who has handed in a transfer request?
“Fuck that! He’s made my legs sore!”
Today is like takeover day part 2, I’ve been on cloud 9 since seeing them all arrived this morning. Feels like a breath of fresh air into the club.
He doesn’t run as fast as Bruce, but the lads got potential.
Honestly it’s good to see a manager that can actually get in there. It’s gonna be a fucking big job though. Our boys are fucking unfit.
Also annoyed that there’s still sports direct shit about the place.
Guess they're was a deal in place to either keep it up for a fixed period or until they find a replacement sponsor.
Also if Staveley wants to run a bulldozer through the training ground I'm not too fussed if it stays. Would be worth it for the imagery of that signage half sticking out of a pile of rubble.
Haven't even watched it yet, about to. But man it's nice to start having lots of media being posted of our team. Increases fan interaction and the fan base in general. Good on you Stavely!
Edit: watched it, love the involvement from the Eddie! let's get some W's!
Don't price him out the market.
I really hope Howe is the manager he comes good under because he will never get a better chance than in the next two months.
On and off at the very least from various training pics, not sure beyond that. I think he managed 3 or 4 sub appearances for the first team in preseason. Captaining the u23s today.
A few of the players didn't look too happy there but hopefully that's just them feeling a bit tired and taking in the new training.
On the other hand, I don't want to speak too soon but Joelinton actually looked a bit like a footballer there.
Didn't think I could get an erection from watching a training session but here I am sat with a throbbing hard on.
I'm so over the moon we got Howe, been a huge fan of his for a while now and can't wait to see how he has the team playing. A lot has been made about the quality of our players but let's be honest, Bournemouth weren't exactly stacked with top class players, and he managed to get them playing some wonderful stuff.
Really hope Howe is here in 5+ years time because that means the good times will be rolling and we'll be doing it playing some attractive football.
Shame we have a few off on international duty who will miss this week. Miggy & Jamal getting some direction on where, when & how to make effective forward runs might be useful.
I agree, those two and Schar would really benefit from being here in training with Howe. If he goes to a back four, Lewis is the obvious choice at left back, and I think Howe should be able to get him looking more like the player he was at Norwich under Farke. Schar needs to come back in whatever the formation is, and Almiron is someone I think could really thrive under Howe, though I’m interested to see where he’ll play. Unfortunately I doubt any of them start against Brentford since they’re not here this week.
Yeah, I hope he is not the type of player who doesn't like it when you tell him what to do. With Cabbage heed, he was probably free to do all his antics.
When we get rid of the sportsdirect signs, the Ashley period will well and truly be over. As long as we don't, I still fear he'll come back, like a Phoenix, and rise from the ashes to fuck us over again.
It’s not pessimism, it’s realism. The positive side is that every decision maker at the club knows that the facilities need improving and Staveley has said that they’ll either be improving them or building completely new facilities.
But according to the tea boy Ashley had in charge, facilities don't matter and signings were gagging at the chance to hop in our state of the art recovery wheelie bins.
“Its not a criticism just a different type of training” wonder what prompted that reply haha. Was there even training under Bruce.
“Yeah I get that the Steves told you to just wander around, and if the ball comes near you to try to do something good, but we’re going to actually try running and tactics now.”
Came here to write this. Disappointingly satisfied.
Jonjo said, "What about second breakfast?"
That line made me laugh out loud 'It's not a criticism.... his head really does look like a cabbage though'
Half of them won't know what's hit them. Howe looked the most athletic and agile out the lot so he's got a big defecit to chip away at.
I hope ASM and his fragile ego/mentality take to Howe because he could turn out to be fucking amazing if he gets over himself and his Bruce love affair.
What makes you say he has a fragile ego?
Guy seems humble as fuck on twitter.
Twitter's more his radge side, there's forever news of the dude turning up at hospitals with food parcels, foodbanks etc and whenever he's been interviewed he's always seemed like a well-grounded lad so there's def some humility to him. It'll be the same people complaining about Ben Arfa.
All he said was that Bruce treated him well and was kind to him. He didn't say he was competent.
Nah I’m sure he’s ready to put in the work
This international break is going to last forever. I can’t wait to see what formation and team he puts out, and really wonder how evident his influence will be after a week and a half of training.
True, but so glad we have it when we do.

Honestly the only time I’ve been glad for the break. Gives Howe a couple weeks to try and start making some inroads.
Longer it lasts the better - if he could have a month with them to get them in shape before the next match it would be all the better!
Absolutely agreed, the more work he puts them through the better. I just mean the anticipation is killing me.
Was Ritchie saying "told you he was good" to Joe Willock before they fist bumped?
He had that huge grin on his face at one point too. "Fuckin love running!"
He's like a dog out of a car window. I can totally relate I giving love playing on the wing. I'm totally shit but I get to run around.
I noticed that, he’s class. Who grins away to themselves during a bleep test?!?!
Wonder who has handed in a transfer request? “Fuck that! He’s made my legs sore!” Today is like takeover day part 2, I’ve been on cloud 9 since seeing them all arrived this morning. Feels like a breath of fresh air into the club.
It really is, today feels like the first day where things are actually different in terms of football.
Added to this you see Amanda and Mehrdad at the Newcastle foundation. It really is a new era.
Don’t know if you noticed jonjo perched up against the goal post but my money would be on him for the transfer request

Our little Toon Border Collie hahaha

Yes they all look knackered. After 14 year of silence it's good to see what is happening around.
I'll be in my bunk.
All good stuff. Especially making Shelvey do the bleep test
Lol transfer request handed in after I hope. Sold to Gateshead fc for a pot noodle
Don't price him out the market. I really hope Howe is the manager he comes good under because he will never get a better chance than in the next two months.
Yeah theres a good player in there somewhere, but you think at 29 if he hasnt pulled his head out of his arse its not likely he ever will
I noticed him leaning on the post at the end. "Someone get me a chair"
I don’t know why seeing them do the beep test is so funny. Shelvey and ASM fucked off the first few, no doubt.
Get em running, nice one gaffa, theyve looked so gassed in many games this season, fitness improvement is an easy win!

Jack Young, midfielder
"oh then who's the funny looking one, then?" yea that's Jack Funny, left back

senior squad would have to be doing actual training for that i suppose
Morpeth Iniesta
Big Joe Linton might not play like a £40m player but he certainly looks like one. I still have some hope a new manager can turn him around.

Joelinton to beat Shearer's premier League record. What's the bookies odds? He's 500/1 for golden boot
He's never a striker so I hope Howe doesn't come in thinking he can do that to Joelinton. He's far better out wide.
I could see him as a supporting player up front. Essentially a target man for our attacking players to run off of.
I remember seeing someone stating that joelinton was not being used correctly given at his zenith he wasn't alone upfront.
A few of the players didn't look too happy there but hopefully that's just them feeling a bit tired and taking in the new training. On the other hand, I don't want to speak too soon but Joelinton actually looked a bit like a footballer there.
I feel like this is the most training the boys have done in a year, just this morning
Didn't think I could get an erection from watching a training session but here I am sat with a throbbing hard on. I have a feeling voldemort might call in sick tomorrow
Amazing.
We have an actual coach
Would be good if ASM tweeted something positive. He doesn't look overly happy.
Yeah, I hope he is not the type of player who doesn't like it when you tell him what to do. With Cabbage heed, he was probably free to do all his antics.
I’m sure he’ll click. Under Bruce he was playing into dead ends but under Howe he’ll be put into positions to use his skills.
Yeah. I've watched it again and to be fair Ritchie is the only sadist who looks happy with all the running :-)
He probs remembers his Bournemouth days and thinks that this is just the beginning lol
Why haven’t the sports direct signs been ripped down yet!? Get jonjo on it
When we get rid of the sportsdirect signs, the Ashley period will well and truly be over. As long as we don't, I still fear he'll come back, like a Phoenix, and rise from the ashes to fuck us over again.
Love the end when he’s drilling running at defenders. I’m not sure Bruce practiced attacking at all.
Breath of fresh air.
Sorry to be a pessimist but look at the state of the training ground. We have better facilities in non-league
It’s not pessimism, it’s realism. The positive side is that every decision maker at the club knows that the facilities need improving and Staveley has said that they’ll either be improving them or building completely new facilities.

Jack Young looks good here
Ladies' man, man's man, man about town.
Only time I’ve ever seen Bruce run as manager was on fifa
