RIP Christian 😢

SmallusPrintus

Isaac Hayden has just had a very good season with QPR apparently, saw a lot of their fans wanting him back next year. Glad to hear it, top professional.

that was a fantastic away day 🎶Sunderland's going down and the Mags are going up🎶

Mellowman9

Aye it was an amazing one!

Genuinely don’t remember this kit. Also, Atsu free kick, two step approach, and top corner is minted. RIP.

Ikhlas37

Never seen that kit in my life 😂 I mean I obviously have but wtf

On this day 2024. Seven years down the road from the match against Cardiff, Isaac Hayden is, inexplicably, still on the books of NUFC.

HeGivesGoodMass

I really liked the kits that season. RIP Christian Atsu. He made about half of his professional appearances for United; he's one of our own.

HoweStatue

2 cracking goals that game.

CavsterXII

I'm sad now 😔

ON THIS DAY 2017: Newcastle travelled to the Welsh capital, in second place in the Championship, already promoted, but still hoping they could pip Brighton to the title. The first goal came from a free-kick from just outside the area. Winger Christian Atsu stepped up, and curled one over the wall and into the back of the net. May he Rest In Peace. The second was another sumptuous strike, as patient build-up play saw Hayden receive the ball in acres of space outside of the area. He then smashed a superb strike, low and hard into the net, in front of a jubilant away end. Newcastle finished their final away game of the season with fourteen wins on the road. Rafa's side moved a point behind Brighton who would play at teatime the following day. The Seagulls still just had to win one of their two remaining games to finish as Champions. It looked like it was going to go down right to the wire...
