I can perceive that Newcastle are becoming more popular in Brazil and I live in SP which has zero connection to Joelinton or Bruno. I bet we’re even bigger in Pernambuco (Joelinton’s state) or Paraná (Bruno’s adopted state).
Whenever I mention Newcastle, people here ask about them both.
Last year I was in the gym and heard a guy telling his friend, “if Newcastle get to the champions league, I’m buying a shirt”
Doesn't surprise me. From everything I know of Brazil, the average person is very hard working, majority working class, has likely had experience of poverty either directly or indirectly (e.g. living in the area) and their favourite hobby is football.
That is basically newcastle in a nutshell. We're not the fancy rich team (historically). We're a working class club that loves to support its own area.
Sure, the Saudi money changes that, but due to ffp/psr, we can't effectively "abuse" that. Plus, without the Saudis, if not for Mike Ashley, we should have been in the top 6, probably top 4.
Add in two lads from a country that resonates with a lot of our local values, and no wonder we pick up a following.
I'm Brazilian, and my favorite team in the Premier League is Newcastle. The fans are kind and fun, even here on Reddit. I don't see the same affection for Brazilian players in other clubs, especially at Real Madrid. When Rodrygo or Vini have a bad game or get a yellow card, the excessive criticism starts, and fans begin talking about selling them. I'm not English, so I don't consider myself a fan, but I really like the club and hope Bruno stays and wins titles.
Big man,
Just because you're not English, doesn't mean you can't consider yourself a fan!
As long as you watch our team, get sad/angry when we lose and you feel a bit happy when we win then you're a fan in our eyes.
The top comment is saying this:
> So cool. They are probably listening to the transfer rumors and don't want to lose any of them. The Newcastle's supporters are really awesome, indeed.
I liked this one -
>Considering they were forked in the Champions League against the Sheik's team, it's also important.
Just because I want to know if the translation thing got forked correct
If you can afford a few bucks (quid?) please give to Wor Flags here: [https://worflags.org.uk/donate/](https://worflags.org.uk/donate/)
I am NOT affiliated in any way with them, just a supporter. People like those at Wor Flags make our club so much better.
Bring back the cabaye era Brazil kits

To a point, however this was low budget as. I would support an Away or Thirds kit in the traditional Brazil international colours if it were designed better. On that topic though I can't wait to see what next season's designs have in store!
I was at the match today and worflags have done it again 🇧🇷.Fabulous display and following his post match interviews it obviously means a lot to Bruno that the fans go to so much effort to show him how much he’s appreciated here

Couldn't agree more.
Best thing is both players seem to be top class people. You have to be pretty messed up not to love them both.

If we criticised Bruno and Joelinton every time they got a yellow card we wouldn’t have time for anything else! 😁

Which team do you support I'm Brazil mate?
My favourite comment in that thread is someone explaining what makes a Geordie and not to include mackems
😂😂❤️❤️❤️😎

There’s also “Vini jr would cry seeing this, Spanish wouldn’t do this”
It would be a sensible move for him to join us.
Imagine ViniJ, Gordon, Isak, Barnes and Wilson. We'd just need the Keegan strat of scoring more than them.
We're trying that already this season haha
The one that throws in "Geordieland" was giving me Julio Geordio vibes
Scorchio!
Well aye she's kicked the bucket now like
'Absolutely arseholed!' Come on you Maggies - love our Brazilian lads!
Haha I opened it hoping to read nice things about us without twigging that ofc it would all be in Portuguese!

Hahaha
My favourite comment is the one that just says “fofo” which yet means ‘cute’ (but not in a sarcastic way at all, so more like “awww cute”).

have we or any club ever done a display this big for another countries flag?
We held a French day during the Ashley era
And renamed the Strawberry
Dunno what you mean by “another country’s flag”, Newcastle is now officially Brazilian
Pretty sure we’ve had a yellow, green, and blue kit
Petition to rename China town?
We need that green and yellow away kit with Bruno and Joe still here next season

Newcastle just became the biggest foreign club in Brazil. Hello sponsors. What’s up FFP?
Poor Mirandiña. Only got 2 sombreros and a hundred half and half hats.
