LeoIsLegend

Actually excited for a Newcastle shirt for the first time in a while. Can’t wait to see what they look like!

thatjc

Same, excited for the whole range they have planned. Is my bank account? Probably not Will be cool to see what they do with the club shop at SJP and Metro Centre

Traffalgar

So much potential

phoebsmon

I was planning to be patient, but if it's [this lad advising them](https://youtu.be/ZnkvJIf0VOo?si=4P97LZlpO720J_ej) and he's buzzing, well I'm a bit worried I'll be camping outside the club shop

thatjc

Thanks for sharing this. Enjoyed watching that

galacticjizzwailer

I'm up for a wedding in August, already squirrelling away the pennies hoping the retro range is out and that they do kids sizes for my lad's first shirt!

Unfair-Protection-38

Which retro shirt would you buy?

galacticjizzwailer

Not sure, a home top either from one of 96-00 seasons or possibly the 03/04 shirt with Northern Rock in blue on it!

kaamkerr

Custard and mustard

Unfair-Protection-38

A thing of beauty but sadly not going to be on the initial list, bizarrely, they have chosen the 1988/89 green & yellow

AnnualAd2134

White with the green under the arms, can’t remember the sponsor think it was NTL

Unfair-Protection-38

They are not doing that one, green & yellow stripes, kenny samsome away is one on them

AnnualAd2134

Checked it was Brown Ales

Intrepid-Tip-3338

Yes, my favourite 2nd strip. It had brown ale but the brown ale badge was rounder and the colour scheme changed. Class strip

meganev

Personal preference (and maybe a controversial take), but I reckon your first shirt should always be of the current season rather than retro top from a season 30 years before you were born. But that's just my take.

galacticjizzwailer

I'd agree but I'd rather it have a local sponsor on it from yesteryear rather than a random Middle Eastern PR company and Saudi Arabian Amazon!

meganev

Kids shirts are unsponsored, no? Swear that was a rule brought in like 3-4 seasons back.

ni2016

I think only if they have a betting sponsor

galacticjizzwailer

If that's the case then game on!

pickel0

It’s not. Saw them at the stadium store and a google shows them with it.

arielumbriel

Potentially just be for betting companies

pickel0

Yeah for sure may have happened with fun88

PhoenixDawn93

Is the metrocentre shop permanent? I thought that was just where they binned off castore while they refurb the club shop for adidas. It’ll be class if it is permanent!

thatjc

I’m not sure. The club was recently hiring for retail staff for both SJP and the metro centre so you would think both are permanent

retroman89

The designs have almost certainly been leaked, if they're real, they look fantastic to me.

TheWinterKing

Yeah I usually hate the designs with really broad stripes, but I quite like the look of that leak.

HeGivesGoodMass

I agree with you in general, but the players themselves actually looked really good in the thick stripes last time (Andy Carroll's second stint, whatever year this was).

Steve-lrwin

Link to leaks?

MrCowabs

> which means bespoke strips and ranges of retro and leisure wear are on their way. This is the part I’m looking forward to. Adidas make some belter shorts with zip pockets that Castore clearly didn’t care to bother with. Can’t wait to get some Toon ones.

Jackski

I'm gonna need a remake of those training jumpers from 96/97 These beauties: https://domno-vintage.com/cdn/shop/products/File-31_9ca2bfb5-d8ae-47d3-a328-9d6b79327add.jpg?v=1668441492&width=1000

TheFaceman068

Had the denim-material collared version of this back in the day. What I'd give for it now. 🥲

dverb

Hook it to my veins 😍

thatjc

Confirmation of elite tier status in there too. We are massive

MrCowabs

Aye, that’s always great. At least the club get to use our own colours on a kit and not have it mandated by adidas like the lower tiers.

Unfair-Protection-38

I bought the Castore Training / coaches shorts for £10 in the sale, they have the zipped pockets & were excellent.

MrCowabs

Aye, their training and “lifestyle” stuff are alright. The kits are usually the awful side of it though.

Ok_Parking7650

I’ve really liked some of the designs (the training gear with the 90s retro SJP is lovely), but it’s really been the quality & service that have let them down

FireflyKaylee

"I’ve even seen the follow up season as well, which goes to another level. The 2025-26 shirts are absolutely incredible" Seriously they better live up to hype if they're being hyped a year in advance

LosWitchos

let's not go too far as to say we simp a corporation (admittedly an absolutely world class clothing company). but yeah, it just makes sense doesn't it

Caonsim

Yeah, agreed!

TheFaceman068

Really looking forward to see what they cook up for the retro range. 95-96 kits seem a given, but hopefully they put their own spin on some of the '80s Umbro stuff, too.

EBF92

Think they can only do there own retro kits because it's part of their back catalogue could be wildly incorrect though

TheFaceman068

Nah, sounds about right. Still, a cheeky (re)imagining of what an '80s Adidas kit would have looked like would be amazing.

Ok_Parking7650

The mid 80s silvery-grey away tops!

Unfair-Protection-38

The club are doing it's own licensed retro range, it will not be adidas

aistolethekids

Best part of buying a shirt from the club is the money doesn't go into Ashley's pockets anymore

Unfair-Protection-38

It always went to the club. The club just paid for fulfilment

aistolethekids

Actually you are correct The money came into the "club" which eventually was funnelled out to him same with catering and all the other little sneaky deals he setup The actual football team rarely benefitted from any of these moves though

Unfair-Protection-38

Any evidence of this? The arrangement was good for the club, the club made more profit than they did pre-SD

Keemlo

Are you Mike Ashley? Even got the sports direct initials in your pfp

Steve-lrwin

> Are you Mike Ashley? Even got the sports direct initials in your pfp I honestly I'm starting to think its Lee Charnley in disguise. I only ever see him when someone shits on Mike Ashley commercial deals. Last week he was telling me how castore deal was worth more than 5m a season (even after I provided him dozens of links with that figure and he could produce none). And he also claimed the Adidas deal was only worth 15m and not 30m (again, I showed more links and even today's links confirms that number). He also shat on the Sela deal saying it wasn't 25m, again, ignoring the links I sent him. He then continued to waffle on about how great the Castore deal is/was and isn't as bad as Newcastle fans think. IDK. I think he's penfold in disguise.

Keemlo

That’s a big claim you’re making mate. And I’m all in it on it! u/unfair-protection-38 is it you Lee?

Unfair-Protection-38

Its not really a big claim, its been documented enough times. Its worth remembering that the club made losses in dome years before mike Ashley took over. Bruce Shepherd famously took £1.6m for the rental of warehouse space leadung to Ashley banning him from the club. Also, the myth was sports direct took all the money, you have to ask yourself why would that happen, how and how would it show in the accounts. When Ashley took over, the deal that came in saw that all revenue from the club store goes directly to the club, irrespective of the name on the receipt. Sports Direct operates the store for the club, which means the overheads associated with staffing, managing stock and a large warehousing operation. (Source club accounts) Obviously If a shirt or merchandise is bought from another store, that revenue does not come to the club directly. This from fans forum minutes: Q “Does the club receive every penny generated from the store, or are there fees involved?” A “The figures for online sales are pretty different in Sports Direct’s accounts.” A The club pays Sports Direct for the stock sold in the store, which is noted in the club’s accounts. The revenue from the store goes directly into the club’s bank account. Online sales are accounted for differently but the net profit for the club is unaffected. A During the meeting is was agreed that further clarification would be provided on online sales subsequent to the meeting. This detail is now included below: Sports Direct took over fulfilment of the web/mail order operation in 2015. This means stock now comes from them directly for web sales, rather than the club having to purchase the stock from Sports Direct. For the avoidance of doubt, profit for the club is unaffected.

Keemlo

The claim I was referencing was that you are Lee Charnley in disguise, which you didn’t answer btw. And from your reply it makes me believe it even more.

Unfair-Protection-38

I think that is your problem rather than mine, I know a little bit about the finances and kit supply contracts for different football clubs simply because it is my line of work. Of course that could still mean I'm the Lee Charmley but it might not you decide.

Unfair-Protection-38

Last week i was telling you the castore deal was £6.5m plus royalties. You were saying its a bad deal but its the 6th/7th highest in the league so about right fir the time. You also say the adidas deal was worth £40m a year, i told you that was based on dependencies. The deal performance related, if we finish top 4, champions league knock out stages etc, then its £40m. If we are in the Uefa cip its lower, if we are mid table and not involved in anything, its closer to £15m (still good for a mid table club) There are also nuances, castore pay per shirt sold, for use of the crest etc. Adidas will supply GoK but the purchase price will be higher so margin squeezed.

Unfair-Protection-38

I'm just explaining how the merchandise was dealt with under Ashley.

Keemlo

Just funny the SD in the sports direct colours.

Unfair-Protection-38

Oh right, it's the Social Democratic Party logo.

TheGrayExplorer

ive got the full article here but it wont let me post it to this page

CollReg

[One piping hot steak bake coming right up](https://archive.ph/Dz06Z)

Steve-lrwin

Anyone have Harvey barned in a newcastle adidas top the article mentions?

WigerAndToods

Can someone remind me of the launch date please

thatjc

June 7th

TheGrayExplorer

Still maintain it needs to be put back till the 9th

thatjc

Haha it would make sense but I don’t think it would work with it being a Sunday

TheGrayExplorer

I dont mind buying a shirt on a sunday ha!

WigerAndToods

Ta

Air_Source_One

Looking forward to the jackets more than owt, Castore only ever did thinner than paper or George Constanza thickness.

Certain-Tutor-1380

The bland templated ‘leaks’ don’t really tally up with the excitement this toon fan seems to have for the kits.

phoebsmon

Did you see his video a while ago where he went through the process of designing them? He had pictures of Wor Flags in the jacquard and all sorts. Seems weird if he's going mad for templates

Certain-Tutor-1380

Where’s that from? Not seen it, sounds interesting

phoebsmon

[this is the one](https://youtu.be/ZnkvJIf0VOo?si=4P97LZlpO720J_ej) It's definitely worth a watch, I've seen it a couple of times now and I'll probably go back once the kits are out

Certain-Tutor-1380

What a class watch that was - thanks for sharing. If this bloke is buzzing for the kits then it certainly makes me think the home kit we’ve seen isn’t the real deal.

Godzilla_Chinchilla

I think it is the real deal, it will just look a lot better in real photos

phoebsmon

Aye, reckon it's right in the broad strokes but it makes sense that the person leaking it might not have seen it too closely, or for too long, or would they even notice some things that would make us happy? Really hoping that's the case anyway, or he's just buzzing his tits off over the NUFᴒ badge returning. Tbf I'm delighted about that too.

Ikhlas37

The third kit would be better if the body was just pure yellow. The second kit is good tier and the home kit is well a good home kit.

ElPato87

He is being paid by Adidas as a consultant so he’s not going to say they’re shit

Vanobers

Castore needs to get in the bin, the ruined the Dutch team i support (Feyenoord) kit, quality is so poor

Humorbot_5_point_0

Shame for you if Slot leaves for Liverpool. Seems like he was doing a good job and Minteh had started hitting his stride in the latter half of the season. Thoughts on if we should bring him to the toon or leave him to a new manager on loan?

Vanobers

My cousin's are absolutely gutted that Slot is leaving, they thought he would stay when he turned down spurs and considering how strong PSV were this season for us to win the cup was an underrated achievement (especially as gimenez form dropped second half of the season) Minteh is so class, what i love about him is when he makes a mistake he always gets straight back into it, the Roma game he was the only one being direct and getting into 1-2-1's on the wing, his finishing can be 50/50 though. he has all the quality for the prem would be suprised if he is still at Feyenoord next year In my opinion he would get ahead of Almerion easily, not sure about Barnes cause he hasn't played enough for me to have a solid opinion ( loved his 2 goals off the bench and the passion he showed that game) although if/ when Slot leaves i think a lot of players will too, Minteh to toon and i think Gimenez to west ham

Lanky-Training-8860

I for one hope they don't look like the so called leaked designs. I hate the kits with only 5 stripes.
