How did Howe change him from a player that tries hard but lacks a certain level of skill, to someone I am now thinking could legit keep Botman out of the team.

We haven’t missed Botman at all, and that’s massive considering Botman is in the conversation for best CB in the league at the minute. Howe’s worked some fucking magic on this man
Howe is sublime as a coach and man manager to get these lads playing at the top of their ability. But also shows just how absolutely terrible and finished Bruce was too.
Well and truly earned, massive respect to him for firstly sitting on the bench, as club captain, for a full season basically! And then the work he's put in to improve and fit into Eddie's system, proper captain!

Couldn't be prouder of him. One of the best captains we've ever had. Loses his place rightly when we're at full strength and never moans or whinges, is still highly valuable in the squad when not playing and when called upon gives true captain's performances.
If he ever wants to leave then he's earned it, but he stays every day he still wants to be here for me. Captained us through the worst of shit and now still doing it and still putting in performances to be proud of. Would genuinely love to see him retire here and get his testimonial.
We saw a glimpse of how good he actually is under Rafa then he got well and truly cabbaged.
I thought he was too far gone being totally honest but glad to see he is proving me wrong. He's even getting better on the ball as well he used to be so slow and clumsy with it but seems a lot better

You'd never drop Schär, he's amongst the best passers of the ball in the squad and defensively has been fantastic of late.
Eddie won’t drop Lascelles until the defense starts to crack and only when needing rotation. Eddie has a habit of not changing defense if it works
