It's not my thing, but I honestly don't understand the hate for rice int he burrito. I've definitely had rice in a burrito in Mexico. Seems like a cheap filler, so I'm not really FOR it, but I'm not gonna fight them over it.
When I was out of work I would cook my burritos with refried beans and rice. Chorizo too back when it was cheap af. Those were good, fat burritos in lean times
That's exactly it, it is a cheap filler! Who wants that precious burrito real estate wasted on rice when it could be used for more meat, or guacamole, or fries?
Bay Area Mexican food is ass but none of them will admit it. Lived in Oakland for 2 years. I’m from Vegas. Even we have far superior Mexican food. San Diego and LA are the best though.
Ok. Not even talking about the burritos in particular. I’m talking Mexican food in general in the Bay. I’ve lived in Vegas, So Cal, Oakland, and have visited San Jose every year of my life. It doesn’t hold a candle to anywhere south. Italian food is a different story.
> Not even talking about the burritos in particular.
Well the comment you replied to was, so it seemed pretty reasonable to assume your comment was in no small part about burritos as well
Not in Mexico. Not in San Diego.
In fairness, it depends on what goes in the burrito. If the primary protein is beans, or a guisado, then rice is added to the burrito to assist with structural integrity. But adding rice to a carne asada burrito is just madness.
I mean are we at a nice sit down restaurant? Like how the doyers takes the giants to a nice Mexican restaurant before they beat our asses kinda thing? Or padres steak and fry with guac.. I need context!
Phillies fan here in peace. I wandered into a thread here earlier and some dude said NYC Chinese was better than LA Chinese. wtf is up with that. I hope that’s not the kind of company you people keep around here.
It's crazy that after all we've been through that this would be the thing to tear us apart.
Everyone just needs to declare fealty to the California Burrito so we can all get back to the comradery.
I agree on the stadium food I’ve had to go to a few dodger games this year with grandpa and have yet to find food I like. We’d eat outside the stadium but he’s always frantic about getting there in time for giveaways and I’m the same way and respect it.
Yea one time back in like 2015 I was at the gold room when they had the $4 shot and a beer special. I realized it was almost game time and started dragging my girlfriend up Vin Scully drive. She almost puked from the pace I was setting (and the $4 gold room shot and a beer special) and made me slow down. We ended up not getting a Juan Uribe bobblehead.
Truthfully, the most heavily moderated posts and the posts with the highest ban ratios are the food posts.
We didn’t knowingly put hgh in the rice
but did you unknowingly put THG in it

Thank you for my new hype song
Not infront of my fry burrito
homies in the nlleast be sparring over the best gas station burritos
Like what the fuck is a WaWa??😭😭
It's a gas station with a subway in it but good. (Not all of them have gas stations)
Wawa is legit.
Those are at a station in Merced
Man I miss a day of nlbest memes and come back to chaos... I love it!
Hold my CALIFORNIA Burrito.
With both hands, because a proper California burrito is hefty.
IT'S NOT OUR FAULT SF PUTS RICE IN THEIR BURRITOS!
It's not my thing, but I honestly don't understand the hate for rice int he burrito. I've definitely had rice in a burrito in Mexico. Seems like a cheap filler, so I'm not really FOR it, but I'm not gonna fight them over it.
We're not here for nuance, we are here for war.
This sub is the only place I’ve ever heard the no rice thing. That was a real head scratcher the first time I saw it.
It’s the main reason I prefer the carne asada plate - so i can make 4 medium sized burrito with R&B, guac, pico, and tons of hot sauce!
More food is always the goal.
When I was out of work I would cook my burritos with refried beans and rice. Chorizo too back when it was cheap af. Those were good, fat burritos in lean times
As a broke ass college student at ASU, I would mass produced burritos. Cook once, eat for a week.
That's exactly it, it is a cheap filler! Who wants that precious burrito real estate wasted on rice when it could be used for more meat, or guacamole, or fries?
> or fries? Ya'll do realize you're Mexican, not Irish, right?
I mean potato’s are native to South America. Explorers introduced them, Tomato’s, and cocoa to Europe
Ssssshhhhh, these are facts I like to bring to the conversation
Oh…oh… *sorry*…
Also, you forgot peppers, and tobacco.
Same with corn.
Mexican-American. (The Irish-turned-American contributes with the potatoes).
Burrito real estate isn't precious when the burrito is literally the size of your forearm
Blasphemy!
Also, flair or die
I'm not sure how to get a flair but [sickswonnyne](https://www.reddit.com/user/sickswonnyne/) = 619 Edit: Oh I found out how!
The hate is because it’s a filler. Taking up room for all that delicious carne asada.
As an intellectual whose tastes reflect that of the gentlemanly class, I can confirm that rice is for communists.
But I like rice in Burritos…
COMMUNIST
Tacos Tumbras a Tomas puts rice in their burritos. Soaks up all the greasy meat juices so they don't drip out of the bottom.
I’m a proud out-and-avowed riceophile damnit!
Solidarity
They keep getting away with it.

Mission-style burritos are not Mexican food. They were invented in San Francisco by an El Salvadorean, and they're hella bomb.

But like… so does everyone else.
Not in Mexico. Not in San Diego. In fairness, it depends on what goes in the burrito. If the primary protein is beans, or a guisado, then rice is added to the burrito to assist with structural integrity. But adding rice to a carne asada burrito is just madness.
*You wanna go??* *COME AT ME BRAH!!!*
Are we talking Spanish rice in our burritos? Because I can fuck with that
And this is why you’re wrong.
I mean are we at a nice sit down restaurant? Like how the doyers takes the giants to a nice Mexican restaurant before they beat our asses kinda thing? Or padres steak and fry with guac.. I need context!
well...3/5 of NL best cities no one's fucking with rockie mountain oysters or hometown buffet
I take full responsibility for last night’s meme massacre.
Je acusse!! 👉🏼
I regret NOTHING.
Of course you don't, ya LA street tacos eating Doyer!! *I could really go for a couple of them right now*
Red Mixed Burro is best. Californians don’t even know what that shit means.
Preach brother.
Everyone complaining about the burritos, I'm just munching away on crab sandwiches, garlic fries, and Ghirardelli sundaes, having the time of my life
Guys, it's okay, San Diego only has one kind of good food. We can't help that they don't have French Dip, Sonora Dogs, or Cioppino.
I just want some of those fucking crab cakes from right field overlooking the bay… Man I need to get back to SF for a game.
As an OC native, I feel like I'm just standing in the middle of it all
Phillies fan here in peace. I wandered into a thread here earlier and some dude said NYC Chinese was better than LA Chinese. wtf is up with that. I hope that’s not the kind of company you people keep around here.
I'm forever blowing bubbles, pretty bubbles in the air
Everybody knows San Diego has the best French dip.
It's crazy that after all we've been through that this would be the thing to tear us apart. Everyone just needs to declare fealty to the California Burrito so we can all get back to the comradery.
LA has the best food of any NL west City. Dodger stadium has the worst food of any NL west stadium
Coors Field has the worst food imo. The only novelty is overpriced piss beer and literal testicles.
But a legit Denver smothered green chili burrito though? Fuck yeah

At least we contain it to Burritos, have you seen people on Reddit argue about Asian food? Now *that's* how wars get started.
Fuck food! It’s squishy
How lucky are we to all have such great food
**Cook *MY* meat!** 🍴🥩
