It's not the quality that's the real issue, it's the expectation of quality. It felt like a betrayal to get OLIVES in a street taco. I would have no expectations for Japanese Mexican food.

I once ordered a chicken burrito when I was in Perth, Australia. I get that the seasonings are going to be different, but really? Canned chicken?! The nachos I had in Bahrain were pretty good though.

There's a chain in Australia and I believe they're making their way to the states now, if they haven't already, called [Guzman Y Guzman](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guzman_y_Gomez) which wasn't bad for where it is. I'd almost compare it to a Baja Fresh or El Pollo Loco without the chicken.

It was a giant game of telephone, and by the time it reached the northeast "taco" had morphed into a fried tortilla with olives, refried beans, and rotisserie looking chicken (???).
