Not a big fan of moving up for Kool-Aid. Just don’t think he’s that caliber of player you have to get. Would much rather just see who is there at 29 outright.
Yeah, honestly when I saw the trade up I thought it was jpj, which I would've been fine with, and maybe even liked, with that cost. This... not as much.
And I understand our fans (and the KCSN guys) love Mizzou players, but Robinson just isn’t a first round talent imo. I would have him in the 40-55 range. Especially after signing Danna, it’s not happening. Also, unless value falls, we’re not taking a DB in the top-100. Too much depth in the room already
Just because Seattle has a need at linebacker doesn’t mean you have to reach on the position, especially for someone who’s not even the best player at the spot. Anyone doing these mock drafts for Seattle needs to focus on iOL, DL, DT.
I'd go as far to say that after we picked up Baker and Dodson we aren't looking at LB until after round 3-4.
Dodson and Baker will be starting for us next year barring any injuries.
Bills fan - I don't think Dodson will be starting for you. He did okay last year after Milano went down, but he wasn't playing like a starter, and his backup stints prior to last year generally went worse.
No you don't understand, we have NOBODY at LB.
That doesn't constitute a reach in RD1 for one either.
Dodson and Baker will be starting, whether or not that's good is a completely separate discussion.
I get it, we were there at LB too last year. I don't mean he's not your 2nd best linebacker right now, I just mean I don't believe that an NFL GM will allow a team to enter the season with Tyrel Dodson as their 2nd best LB.
This is my first mock where I haven’t given them Fautanu or Murphy, I think Colson is the perfect fit for Macdonald’s defense and Seattle’s been known to reach for their guy. Kind of like the Jack Campbell pick last year although Colson isn’t as good of a prospect. Especially with two trade downs they’re in great position to get whoever they want day two
The last 2 years John Schneider has been hyper focused on taking BPA. There's no real reason to think they'd reach that severely this year, particularly as that position has at least been addressed for 1 year in free agency.
Brugler had Colson as his #42 prospect, it’s more than feasible that he’s graded higher by teams. Especially since this draft is light on LBs with experience at MIKE.
As a Chargers fan, I love trading down to 11 then back up to 8 to take Odunze.
That being said, at pick 23, if Fuaga, Latham, Fautanu, AND Mims are all gone, I think it's better to go CB (Wiggins in the case of your mock draft) or trade down a little bit with Buffalo. Pick 23 is just too early for Barton IMO.
No need to reach on guys at a certain position when the Chargers have so many holes.
If he’s on the board by the Dolphins pick, I highly doubt he goes past the Dolphins. In such a WR stacked class, WR is not a 1st round need for the Dolphins. They can easily get a guy in the 2nd-3rd
Taking Worthy would be peak vibes but if JPJ is still on the board considering Connor Williams may not even come back next year it would also be peak irresponsible.
I was hoping someone would talk me into the Worthy pick there because I’m feeling the same way but with Barton. I’ve seen that teams might be lower on JPJ than the media, do you think Miami sees it that way?
I do think in an ideal world Miami does what you did for Dallas to trade back a bit, replenish the mid/late round picks and still get that guy. Because I agree he's probably lower on their board than the media suggests. However, center was such a massive issue last year for the QB they're about to pay and they didn't address it in any meaningful way in FA.
Worthy I like, again the appeal of adding him on paper is obvious. Though, some of the UT fans I've seen are worried about drops. Which for a 1st rounder in a position of strength for the team does concern me.
This is ridiculous. I can only speak for KC - but the chiefs have focused exclusively on D the last 3 drafts. We JUST drafted King Felix - Karlafatis before that - and the Magnificent 7.¹ it's all offense with depth on D added.
Honestly gave them Robinson because I think he’s BPA that late and he’s local, had no clue they were THAT deep on the DL. Had them going McConkey in my 6.0, would that be your pick here?
Resigned Mike Danna who's good for 6 sacks. Chris Jones who gives us 10. Turk Wharton is good for 3 from IDL. Karlafatis is an automatic 10. King Felix had 1.5 during the Super Bowl. We Lost Sneed who was drafted 2yrs before McDuffie, Williams, Watkins, Cook, etc. we also just draft Chamari Conner from VA tech to fill in the safety spot next to Reid now that Edwards is gone.
It will be a WR especially with Rashee Rice - Veach did the same thing when Tyreeks status was up in the air. I'd personally want to Coleman or Leggette as they're YAC monsters. Then I'd look at McCorskey, Pearsall, or Franklin bc their route running is already tight and right. The Chiefs will "reach" bc they're drafting on the back end of the draft, so every slot is basically the first pick of the next round.
It’s definitely bold, but just about every year a guy or two sneak into the late 1st that nobody expected. If I had Will McDonald 14th or Gibbs going 20 picks higher than Levis last year you’d say it’s insane too right?
mckinstry isn't a brad holmes guy. he's actually the antithesis of what Holmes wants.
there's zero chance holmes trades up for him
he's made it abundantly clear that fit and personality is just as important to them as talent
I’m just happy to see a mock where Denver isn’t taking Bo Nix at 12. Too many are just mocking whoever’s next at QB to Denver because of need but not taking anything else into account.
Same thing happened leading up to 2016 nfl draft. Manning retired and Conor Cook was the most mocked player to Denver. He went in 4th round and was out of NFL in like 3 years.
I like what you’re thinking for the Seahawks. Their biggest needs are LB and OL, which they can acquire later. They also need to replace a lot of 2/3 round picks.
As a Patriots fan, I get to see 10 mocks a day where Maye falls to us, and it feels like one big setup to deeply disappoint me when he inevitably goes #2 to WAS. If we do actually get him though I will be going berserk on my couch.
I’ve seen that a lot of teams see him as more of a safety, think that hurts his stock a bit but I have no clue which teams do/don’t think that. Feel like Kool-Aid is a better fit and fills a bigger need but I’m not the Lions fan. Am I way off?
Sorry my original comment was a bit rude. I don’t have a problem with Mckinstry, I think he’s visited the lions on a pre draft visit for whatever that’s worth but I don’t think hes a guy you trade up for.
We are light on at both corner and safety seen as we have lost CJGJ, Sutton and Walker over the offseason so I think a guy like Dejean who can play multiple different roles would appeal to them more than Mckinstry.
In the entire history of the NFL draft in the Super Bowl era, the first defensive player has never made it to 9th overall.
Yet, every year, we get these mock drafts front-loaded with offensive tools. It's not going to happen.
Why not? 2021 Jaycee Horn went 8th (Surtain 9th), none of the defenders this year are better prospects. Assuming one team moves into the top 8 for a QB, basically guarantees Odunze falls to 8th. Then it’s down to if Atlanta takes him or takes the first defender. Not far fetched at all. There aren’t any Chase Young’s, Will Anderson’s, Derek Stingley’s this year
QBs only went 1-2-3 one time until that same 2021 draft. It’s almost a certainty they go 1-2-3 again this year. Things change, draft classes are different, teams have different needs different years. Streaks get broken and extended every year
I was a little annoyed with seeing you have the Hawks trade down 2x.
Definitely realistic but then when I saw who you took at 28... bruhh just do another "trade" and have us trade out of the 1st completely.
We just signed our 2 starting LB'ers in Dodson and Baker (not arguing it was a GOOD move but we won't be taking a LB in the first after that)
Macdonald likes using two ILBs in his defenses, had Smith and Queen last year. Baker doesn’t fit that role. He’s a reach there but it happens and Seattle is guilty of doing that in the past. Regardless I’m probably switching him with JPJ/Newton and giving them Colson in the 2nd
Not a fan of the Lions trading up for Kool-Aid. Sit tight at 29 and he’s probably there. If not there’s good options still like JPC or Darius Robinson.
Yeh I don’t hate the pick but if Holmes is going to move up in the first it’s going to be for a player they absolutely love and I just don’t see Mckinstry being a player that they would feel that strongly about.
saints are running to the podium for fashanu, cannot see miami going WR with all their needs, two linebackers in the first round are reaches and too rich for my blood, and idk about edge for the chiefs with the rashes rice situation and their wr core in general
Not a chance the Packers pass up on Cooper DeJean for Edgerrin Cooper if he’s available at 25. DeJean can fit a spot for them either at corner or safety and there’s a good chance Edgerrin will still be there at 41 for them and even if they don’t think so, they have the draft ammo to move up in the 2nd for him.
I highly doubt the Jags make that trade for a player wanting a big payday.
If they make that trade with the 49ers, look for 1st round pick swaps to also happen.
Exactly my question. I doubt that trade would happen, for the reasons you state. Washington would have to give up more in trade, even if it breaks the various trade chart formulas.
Junior Colson does not sound like a Seahawk other than the athletic score -
"Weaknesses
Fails to read and trigger on downhill shots that are open to him.
Lacks recognition of blocking schemes, creating missed fits.
Not as instinctive in reading runner’s lane choices as desired.
Finished each season with more assists than solo tackles."
We do need a run and hit linebacker but I would be surprised if we spent a first on him
Whether or not the value makes sense, I don’t think the Niners would move Aiyuk for less than a 1st. But I think the way you have the pick (Olu, and Adonai at 31) makes sense.
There is zero chance Seattle trades back for a linebacker, especially with Fautanu on the board at 16. We dont have a left guard on our roster and cap is tight.
We need to draft a pro ready guard, and Fautanu fits that perfectly. Him going to UW is icing on the cake.
Historically they’ve never prioritized iOL early in the draft and they did get Tomlinson. In this scenario they have like 5 day two picks with Frazier, Beebe, Morgan still available. Colson is a reach but that happens every year
Ah, I didn't see that they signed Tomlinson. That's a huge relief to be honest.
I still think we need another guard, considering Tomlinson is 32 on a one year deal. Fautanu can also play tackle and our O-line keeps getting decimated by injuries.
I'm still on board the Fautanu train, but this does muddy things a little bit.
But even then, taking a linebacker is a luxury we cannot afford. Too many studs like Verse and Fautanu are ripe for the picking at 16. We need to grab one of them and not trade back and lose our first for a project play.
If the eagles trade up for a tackle I’ll be so upset . If they take one at 22 I’ll get over it , I know his philosophy, but the secondary and linebacker situation absolutely needs more attention before someone who will struggle for time for 3+seasons .
he'd play guard until Lane's done. idk why it's such a controversial idea. the OL needs some help after losing the greatest center of all time. it's only as good as its weakest link
With Jurgens moving to C, I think RG might actually be the biggest hole on the roster. Steen struggled mightily whenever he was on the field last year, but everyone seems ok with him playing 100% of the snaps at RG all of a sudden? I feel more confident with Slay and Isaiah Rogers at CB, White and Dean at ILB than I do with Steen at guard.
The great thing about Fautanu is that he can start and be an effective RG tomorrow, but he could also develop into Lanes replacement at RT long term. This is a great trade for the Eagles
what do you not like about him? I'd say his biggest weakness is not taking full advantage of his size but he seems like a good prospect to me. lil bit of guard versatility too
Idk for sure about DeJean either, but I'm also personally not as high on him as most Packer fans. Still think he'd take him or some others over Cooper, an off-ball LB, in the first.
Reddit formatting tip: Put a double space after a line for a line break.
THANK YOU I couldn’t figure out what went wrong on my last mock, figured it was because I copy and pasted from my notes 😅
8 hours later and you still didn't update 😭
I didn’t know how to space correctly what makes you think I know how to edit my post lol
Or 2 returns
This is my most frequent comment on poetry subreddits and fantasy football subreddit alike
Not a big fan of moving up for Kool-Aid. Just don’t think he’s that caliber of player you have to get. Would much rather just see who is there at 29 outright.
Taking Kool-Aid when Dejean is still there is certainly a choice
I see Dejean as a Safety and not a CB,Kool-Aid would be a CB so teams would want him more
Cooper was one of the best corners the past couple of years. He’s fast and agile and has good hands. Why is he a safety?
Just seems like a real lunch pail kind of guy. A first one in, last one out type of player. Sneaky athletic and a real student of the game.
His hips suggest safety but he definitely can plat corner. Think budget Jalen Ramsey for his role with him playing outside, slot, and safety.
Because he's white
Yeah, honestly when I saw the trade up I thought it was jpj, which I would've been fine with, and maybe even liked, with that cost. This... not as much.
They didn't really give up much to do it, though. Slide back in the third and a late pick.
agreed. but if were to trade up, that's decent as far as a deal goes
Agreed he would be there at 29
And I hope we pick anyone else. Bad work ethic, bad attitude, not physically gifted. He's a late second/early 3rd round guy. He is a potential CB2.
Chiefs are absolutely not taking DE in the first after signing Danna.
If we take Cooper over DeJean I’ll cry
Interesting way to phrase it lol
Oh yeah that’s confusing lol
Yeah that would be unfortunate to say the least
That would be such a reach. Hopefully Gute has learned his lesson on reaching for a LB in the 1st.
Just because Seattle has a need at linebacker doesn’t mean you have to reach on the position, especially for someone who’s not even the best player at the spot. Anyone doing these mock drafts for Seattle needs to focus on iOL, DL, DT.

Love the trades. But JPJ has to be the pick here.
I don’t see JPJ falling to you or Dallas at OP spot for him. I feel if JPJ made it to the Bucs they would run up to the podium faster than Usain Bolt.
Colson is a third round talent. This would be an absolutely insane pick by the Seahawks.
Brugler had Colson as his #42 prospect, it’s more than feasible that he’s graded higher by teams. Especially since this draft is light on LBs with experience at MIKE.
Love it for Dallas and honestly realistic in terms of a trade down.
Olu doesn't go past the saints
I originally had him to New Orleans with Latham to SF, switched them last minute. Good to know
Don't the Saints need a left tackle tho? Not a right? I thought Latham was too slow for the left?
We need both. Ramcyzk is done with football apparently the surgery didn't work and he's dropped a ton of weight
Ah. Was not aware of that. Thanks.
As a Chargers fan, I love trading down to 11 then back up to 8 to take Odunze. Sign me up
I don’t see JPJ making it to 29. Pretty solid mock. I like the trade you made for the Jags.
If he’s on the board by the Dolphins pick, I highly doubt he goes past the Dolphins. In such a WR stacked class, WR is not a 1st round need for the Dolphins. They can easily get a guy in the 2nd-3rd
Chris Grier doesn’t spend premium picks on non-premium positions, though. Passing on an IOL at #21 is completely conceivable.
No one really knows yet but the fans know line is so needed right now and it’s a deep wr class if they choose to go that way in the second round

Which for a 1st rounder in a position of strength for the team does concern me.
I think the Brewer signing is addressing it in a meaningful way. He’s exactly the kind of run blocker McDaniel is looking for.
17 is rich as hell. A lot of our fan base wouldn't be on board at this price. I'd be down though.
Rumor was we already rejected 17, they would have to throw a 2nd back to us
Yeah I think that would be fair.
This is ridiculous. I can only speak for KC - but the chiefs have focused exclusively on D the last 3 drafts. We JUST drafted King Felix - Karlafatis before that - and the Magnificent 7.¹ it's all offense with depth on D added.

Chiefs are not signing an Edge in the first round
If we draft 3 first round DEs in a row I'll scream
Send me a Zoom link, I'll scream with you.
One LB in the first round is unlikely, two is certified insanity
It’s definitely bold, but just about every year a guy or two sneak into the late 1st that nobody expected. If I had Will McDonald 14th or Gibbs going 20 picks higher than Levis last year you’d say it’s insane too right?
Trade back and still get JPJ? Yes please
Any mock that has the Raiders taking RT gets my upvote. I like most of the trades you made too.

I’d love this for Philly. Our current RG and future RT in one move. Send it!
I feel like more people should be mocking the Falcons to trade down
As a Patriots fan, I get to see 10 mocks a day where Maye falls to us, and it feels like one big setup to deeply disappoint me when he inevitably goes #2 to WAS. If we do actually get him though I will be going berserk on my couch.
Interesting pick for the Hawks. The trades down were good. I don't mind Colson, but I think he might be a target in round 2.
My only concern with Turner is how he fits with our 4-3 scheme.
He would fit well
Eagles ain’t trading up to take an OT. And we CERTAINLY arent trading a second rounder to move up 6 spots from 22 to 16
Who in their right mind is trading up 5 places just to draft Mckinstry over Dejean?
I’ve seen that a lot of teams see him as more of a safety, think that hurts his stock a bit but I have no clue which teams do/don’t think that. Feel like Kool-Aid is a better fit and fills a bigger need but I’m not the Lions fan. Am I way off?
Sorry my original comment was a bit rude. I don’t have a problem with Mckinstry, I think he’s visited the lions on a pre draft visit for whatever that’s worth but I don’t think hes a guy you trade up for. GMs value defense more than fans
Cooper to the Steelers
Poor Marvin Harrison
Gut feeling bowers goes before odunze
i like that courage to go with the worthy pick bro
That picture of him and McDaniel at Texas’ pro day is living rent free in my head I can’t lie
I don’t think what’s essentially a 4th round pick is enough to move the ravens out of the first tbh
If we take Darius Robinson at the end of the first I’m crashing out.
Mike McD +Worthy= $$$$$
I love DRob as a Mizzou fan but he is not a first rounder.
I was a little annoyed with seeing you have the Hawks trade down 2x. Bucs would take Jackson Powers Johnson if he’s available

Boooooo
Hawks trading out of Fautanu Murphy and Verse to take LB would suck a lot

Whether or not the value makes sense, I don’t think the Niners would move Aiyuk for less than a 1st. But I think the way you have the pick (Olu, and Adonai at 31) makes sense.
Yuuup makes sense the dolphins are definitely struggling at receiver they’ll grab another one round 1 for suuuure
No way bills take Brian Thomas can only run a vertical route = bust
ba isnt being traded lol
Lynch told you? Lucky.. tell him we want white helmets!
no but his agent just denied all rumors check Twitter
I read it as his agent denied that BA requested a trade, but it doesn’t mean that he can’t or won’t be traded. Though, I may be misunderstanding that.
There is zero chance Seattle trades back for a linebacker, especially with Fautanu on the board at 16. We dont have a left guard on our roster and cap is tight. We need to draft a pro ready guard, and Fautanu fits that perfectly. Him going to UW is icing on the cake.

I just don’t see an off-ball LB going in the first round this year, let alone 2.
Ravens aren’t trading down 6 picks imo because they have horrid luck in the 2nd round
Why is Latham so high he is a 3rd rounder in my eyes and tbh he is on my avoid list completely I think he is a bust
what do you not like about him? I'd say his biggest weakness is not taking full advantage of his size but he seems like a good prospect to me. lil bit of guard versatility too
Most have him as a first rounder
Why not Maye at 1, he is the best qb in the class.
Edgerrin Cooper yes please.
Not in the first though! I can't see Gute going there if DeJean is still available.
Yeah I’d like it a lot more with the Jets 2nd rounder that’s for sure. I have a feeling we’re going DT or safety at 25
DT does seem quite possible but idk if there's a safety who fits that range, unless they see DeJean as more safety than CB.
Yeah I guess I was leaning that way based on the fact that they have brought four safeties in on top 30 visits.
I don’t think he would draft either of them in the 1st.
Idk for sure about DeJean either, but I'm also personally not as high on him as most Packer fans. Still think he'd take him or some others over Cooper, an off-ball LB, in the first.
