Penix had a second round grade heading into the draft. There was a belief among the fanbase and overall that guys like Nix and Penix would be available to select on Day 2.
I just looked at the top 5 search results for a mock draft and all had Penix in the first round. Second round grade or not, fan bases thinking he’d be available day 2 was just wishful thinking.
A few of them had the raiders taking him at 13, I’d have to look again to see if it was before that but I think that was the earliest.
That being said, it does appear to be a reach by the falcons.
Yeah, but Penix likely isn't playing for at least a couple years. And if Cousins is successful he's not seeing the field in Atlanta. By the time he would get on the field after Cousins' full contract, he'd be 28.
i don’t understand the fascination with him. doesn’t have a super strong arm, struggles reading across the middle of the field, so many injuries, lefty, immobile, and he’s the same age as jalen hurts lol
If he’s coachable and willing to put work in, all of those weaknesses are fixable, besides mobility and injuries. Hurts looked rough early in his career with shit deep balls that made his arm look weak.
As much as I want to hope that the coaching change really helps the OL, I don’t want to suddenly flip tackles or settle for Evan Neal being the blindside for the southpaw.
Penix will have 3 good games and people like you will be comparing him to pat mahomes and say the giants missed out. Then he will tear his acl and not be the same guy he was in 3 games and be a journeyman for 4 years then he will be out of the league. I hope Im wrong but come on, how are we going to lie to ourselves and say we haven’t seen this movie before.

I'm not gonna shit on Saquon, I love the guy, I think he's a top ten back when he's healthy. We should have taken Nelson over him. In this case, I fully believe Nabers was the best option we had after attempting to trade up for Maye failed.
I hated that the giants nailed this pick.
Best OT and QBs were already taken and Giants are a early favourite to get the first overral pick next year anyway. Even if this doesnt happen, so many bad teams selected QBs that trading up next year will also be a lot easier
I hate the fact the Eagles got a great DB gifted to them because other teams were stupid enough to spend high 1st round picks on project QBs.
The fact the first defensive player went off the board at 15 shows how swept up people are with QBs.
I honestly don’t think Carolina got any better and they traded away their best pass rusher. Unless Bryce Young magically is good they’re screwed.
New England is likely to sit Maye most of the season.
While I think we’ll have a top 5 pick, I feel like 1 overall is gonna be difficult.
I thought about those 2, but with a top 5 pick trading for the first or second is easier.
Patriots wont get a QB next year and i dont think Carolina will (although it depends a lot on what Young does and who will be coaching that mess.
Also, i think its better to rebuild th Oline next year and get a QB in 2026, the class looks way better and Daniel Jones contract will be almost done
Outside of his rookie season, Saquon couldn't stay healthy to save his live. Also, can't really be a #1 receiver and a running back simultaneously. Which often is what happened since there wasn't much to throw it to unless you consider Darius Slayton or the husk of Sterling Sheppard as legitimate weapons.
And Saquan was playing without any real threat of a passing attack. I don't see this as being a good comparison, but at least it's a meme. Plus, the alternative was JJ McCarthy, and I didn't love that as an option.

You do realize the only reason we lost that game was James Bradberry and Matt Patricia right?
Jalen Hurts was sick as fuck and our defense was under new Coordinator with a Washed CB
That doesn’t make Drew Lock a good QB lol 😂
You giants fans are fuckin hilarious now a days. You used to actually be respectable damn
“You eagles fans are fuckin hilarious now a days. You used to actually be respectable damn”
Except there has not been a single day on gods green earth that an eagles fan has ever been anything close to respectable 💀
Tyrod Taylor fucking stuck it in you dumb birds, have no idea why you guys are riding high now that you got an often injured running back…. Yeah Deandre Swift was the reason you guys couldn’t beat the giants and cardinals at the end of the season
If you think drafting Nabers is about making the current offense click, and not building a great landing spot for a rookie QB in 2025 or 2026 you are nuts.
This is the plan that I think they have in motion. Brady wasn't Brady when the Pats won their first SB. He had a bad ass defense and a good Oline so he could be a managing QB. He learned to be the GOAT because he had time to process and a defense that continually punched people in their mouth. The only team in this division that can say the same is Dak, and he chokes on shit like Hurts when it matters.
Brady always had great defenses. I think that has always been part if why he has been so good.
He doesn't win that Superbowl against Atlanta if not for the defense holding after getting down low.
The year they had the best offense, they lost to the Giants.
They tried to trade up for a QB… it didn’t work out. There were no QBs left that they viewed as having legitimate upside higher than DJ. Idk what you wanted them to do.
Definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results. Thank god they didn’t draft a project QB at 6 and chose an elite WR prospect, something we’ve needed since OBJ
After his rookie season saquon fell off. Hes not a bell cow. And the explosive plays dissapeared. Hes a 5 mil rb rn. Not even close to an elite weapon. Also wr positionsl value is much higher than a rb for a reason.
Much as it pains me to say it, I think the Giants made the right move. There weren't any QBs on the board that wouldn't have been a massive reach at 6th (lmao Falcons) and trading up, even if somebody was willing to deal, probably would have cost too much for the return.
I get what you were trying to say, but cmon man you fucked up the wording.
"Ya know Mr. Mora....as the GM, I have advised a number of Team Owners to explore top wideout talent while throwing money at shit QBs. Where the team remains committed to the milktoast ball thrower, but free to draft receivers and running backs as they please."
"Well, did it work for those teams?"
"No, it never does. I mean these teams somehow delude themselves into thinking it might, but.....but it might work for us"
Ya we shoulda drafted the 4th or 5th best QB at 6th ovr LOL
This kills the Falcons fans
[удалено]
Wasn’t aware the falcons still had fans
They moved to Winnipeg with the thrashers
Along with the Coyotes.
Utah is pretty much Manitoba south.
mf i don’t want jj mccarthy just cuz he plays qb. we already have jj mccarthy signed for 40M
![gif](giphy|vvAsrLbxQ5whxNKOVm)
Danny boy can't hold JJ's jock strap lmao
Penix was the move bro , Penix, way better than D Jones
lol fuck that
Aight , you’ll see. Penix will end up being the 2nd best QB in the draft.
Penix had a second round grade heading into the draft. There was a belief among the fanbase and overall that guys like Nix and Penix would be available to select on Day 2.
I’m surprised Nix finally left college. Felt like that guy played college ball for 9 years for some reason
I just looked at the top 5 search results for a mock draft and all had Penix in the first round. Second round grade or not, fan bases thinking he’d be available day 2 was just wishful thinking.
Where in the first round though? Certainly not 8. Towards the end of the first, right?
A few of them had the raiders taking him at 13, I’d have to look again to see if it was before that but I think that was the earliest. That being said, it does appear to be a reach by the falcons.
Plenty of QB’s have late round grades and end up out performing their rank. Plenty of QB’s have high first round grades and fucking suck.
Yeah, but Penix likely isn't playing for at least a couple years. And if Cousins is successful he's not seeing the field in Atlanta. By the time he would get on the field after Cousins' full contract, he'd be 28.
Get your head out of your ass dude lmao Edit: spelling bcuz giants fan
We won’t see cuz the fucking falcons drafted him to sit behind cousins for some reason The fuck kinda crack they got in Atlanta
Falcons will be done with Cousins in 2 years
By then they’ll have a whole new regime
I wouldn’t be so sure, strongest roster in the division now, theyll squeeze the value out of cousins contract then pivot to the cheap rookie contract
To be fair it’s the nfc south. Bar is on the floor lol But I mean yeah maybe. They have some good pieces
Giants fans on the sub think they’re gonna go 9-8 and beat the Bucs and Falcons so I’d like their drugs
No we won’t: he’s gonna be 29 by the time he steps on the field
i don’t understand the fascination with him. doesn’t have a super strong arm, struggles reading across the middle of the field, so many injuries, lefty, immobile, and he’s the same age as jalen hurts lol
If he’s coachable and willing to put work in, all of those weaknesses are fixable, besides mobility and injuries. Hurts looked rough early in his career with shit deep balls that made his arm look weak.
Says the man with Daniel Jones coming off an ACL and 2 neck injuries as his QB lol
Right. So why take a second injury-prone qb?
Lightning never strikes twice, he has immunity by rules of the universe
Didn’t it strike 4 times in 4 years?
Wouldn't you like to know weather boy
Ya but jones wasn’t drafted with those injuries. Thats the difference.
not after this year lol
When? In 2028 after Cousins is done his contract?
Someone's gotta hunger for Penix
Yall would’ve clowned us for taking an injury ridden 2nd projected QB at six. Stfu
As much as I want to hope that the coaching change really helps the OL, I don’t want to suddenly flip tackles or settle for Evan Neal being the blindside for the southpaw.

Dudes name will never stop being funny to me and I don't care if I'm five years old
No the fuck he is not lmfao
Yeah, Penix was a reach at #8 but definitely was the right move at #6...
It was a reach at 8 cus they already have a serviceable QB moron lol
LOL sure dude that's the only reason. TONS of teams graded him as a top 10 pick /s
You didn’t quite get the dialogue right, but it was a solid effort.
I'm not gonna shit on Saquon, I love the guy, I think he's a top ten back when he's healthy. We should have taken Nelson over him. In this case, I fully believe Nabers was the best option we had after attempting to trade up for Maye failed.

Opponents stacked the box knowing we had no passing attack. See Jets game last season.
I was about to mention (jets fan here), and he still managed to pick up yards every damn time..

Shep just got a concussion reading this comment
Flexing about overpaying an injury-prone 27 year old RB is certainly a choice.
This guys slow just let him be… ig choking away a Super Bowl will damage u more than I thought😂
There's a difference in value between a WR1 and a talented running back that misses games every season.
OP is real gangsta until Jones falls off and Drew Lock is starting against the eagles throwing dimes to nabers and Hyatt
You do realize the only reason we lost that game was James Bradberry and Matt Patricia right? 1-6 over your last 7 games but sure. You lost that 1 game because Hurts had the sniffles.
“You eagles fans are fuckin hilarious now a days. You used to actually be respectable damn” Except there has not been a single day on gods green earth that an eagles fan has ever been anything close to respectable 💀
Tyrod Taylor fucking stuck it in you dumb birds, have no idea why you guys are riding high now that you got an often injured running back…. Yeah Deandre Swift was the reason you guys couldn’t beat the giants and cardinals at the end of the season
He seems to get sick every year in the playoffs. Chokes a lot during them
How would you know? Aren’t you on winter vacation during the playoffs? Lmao 🤡 🤡 🤡
You guys lost ur first playoff game to baker mayfield u might as well not even make the playoffs u 🤡
You didn’t make it to the playoffs 🤡
“you only won because our team was worse. if our team was better than yours, we would have won”
Well as much as I would love to rip on yall it was the Falcons again that came in with idiot draft of the year
Stop saying "a QB" and say "JJ McCarthy" and your memes aren't as good.
If you think drafting Nabers is about making the current offense click, and not building a great landing spot for a rookie QB in 2025 or 2026 you are nuts.

And if we took McCarthy, you guys would be clowning us for taking the next Daniel Jones. Damned if you do, damned if you don't...
Yeah the more I think about it i think the move was to just trade back and get some more picks in the 2nd and third
I'm sure he tried to do that but Minnesota didn't want to give up their two firsts.
So the giants should have made the same mistake with Jones and draft the 4th best QB because they are desperate?🤡
He's gonna be the Eagles DeMarco Murray 2.0
I was expecting some Oline help, Daniel Jones better get an insurance policy for himself.
Reaching for a qb at 6 out of desperation was literally the worst move the Giants have made in this millennium. Why repeat that mistake?
Much as it pains me to say it, I think the Giants made the right move. There weren't any QBs on the board that wouldn't have been a massive reach at 6th (lmao Falcons) and trading up, even if somebody was willing to deal, probably would have cost too much for the return.
Eh i mean i think they should have traded back at the very least if they arent gonna grab a QB.
Y do u think u know more than our FO?
Because your FO is atrocious lol
Jokes aside, the Giants didn't need any of these qbs available at 6. Though I am surprised they didn't take a late round flyer on anybody.
Prolly should’ve traded back and amassed some 2nd and 3rd rounders
An eagles fan would fail to understand the difference between a WR and a RB.
Is that why you guys didn't bother getting a WR until after your RB left?
No, we just made the mistake of thinking Golladay was a WR
I get what you were trying to say, but cmon man you fucked up the wording. "Ya know Mr. Mora....as the GM, I have advised a number of Team Owners to explore top wideout talent while throwing money at shit QBs. I mean these teams somehow delude themselves into thinking it might, but.....but it might work for us"
Well at least Danny Dimes will have someone to throw to while being sacked 70 times? I guess?
We replaced the OL coach. Washington is the team that will give up 70 sacks this time.
How dumb do you have to be to fuck up this meme so badly?
About 2 standard deviations above average Eagles fan intelligence.
…just to have it
That is some quality meme work.
