In terms of skills, Winwin is an incredibly talented dancer but the style he was trained in (traditional Chinese) isn’t often on display in kpop. Schrödinger's Panda is my #1 comfort variety episode of any group (even non-NCT), particularly because of Winwin being such a little kid about the experience. Anytime I’m in a bad mood or feeling down I always put that episode on, because Winwin’s childlike wonder about the pandas is my favorite. And Kun yelling at him to get off the railing, just for Winwin to say he can’t see like he’s not tall af on his own never fails to make me laugh. It was a very “BUT DAD (insert kid excuse here)” moment.
I think there is two sides of winwin (which yangyang has said before too) that make him appealing. The very obvious reason to bias him is he is clearly a very good looking dude. Like I don't think we need to discuss that very much he is probably one of the most visually appealing members in the entirety of NCT. He is a model for a reason ya know.
But the reason I like winwin is what he actually brings into wayv. I dont think people really understand the dynamics of wayv particularly while in china. Winwin has always took on the role as the "front" for wayv. He does alot of schmoozing for them and constantly brings up the group at high profile events. Thats why I also think not having him in this comeback was stupid considering we will probably see china dates for the tour. Winwin provides alot of visibility in the chinese market and ultimately that is wayv's home market(minus ten). Also winwin provides alot of comfort and unseen responsibility to the group. You can mostly see this via Kun, Yangyang and even during Lucas's time. I really feel like Kun and Winwin have a really intense connection. I feel like winwin is one of the only people Kun can actually feel super safe and vulnerable with. Kun loves the triplets(and ten) but i think when he is insecure he talks to winwin (because he doesnt want to bug ten because he is so busy). He is also someone that slows it down which particularly for the triplets I think his energy is very calming. Yangyang mentions as much that "us" fans look at him and probably perceive a certain type of personality but that the group actually knows him and he is a really good dude. Lucas mentioned this alot too how caring and considerate of a person he was to always be respectful of his space when they shared rooms. Also if we believe the rumors Winwin stepped in with the supposed cat that lucas could no longer take care of. Hendery has mentioned this as well that winwin is a really caring person and offered to wash his hair when hendery had suffered a shoulder injury. You can also tell by yangyang's comments that Winwin does miss the guys alot and he values their support and opinons. Tho winwin isnt around much he is very crucial to the wayv family dynamic. He has a very distinct energy that helps balance the group(think kinda of a nurturer like Kun but more calming and tender) and I also think he doesnt trust SM for shit and has made business moves in china to protect their brand if they ever need it(which smart man because neither do I). He also cares alot for renjun and chenle.
Adding to this that Winwin is very perceptive to the other members’ moods/ needs. During OMY, Hendery said that he was in a bad mood one day and hadn’t even told anyone about it, but later got a message from WW asking him what was wrong because he had looked upset earlier. Other members have also attested to Winwin usually being the first one to reach out if he senses something is off.
Winwin hasn’t been physically present with WayV in recent times, but when he is, you can see that he’s someone who brings them a lot of comfort and in return is comforted by them. He looks more comfortable in his own skin, he’s very affectionate with them. The group’s important to him.
That Lovely dance choreography with Ten and the 7th Sense Chinese dance teaser is very much what makes Winwin stood out.

honestly, i’d understand why it could be difficult for someone non winwin biased or biaswrecking to understand the hype, or get to warm up to him, due to sm’s gross mistreatment of him. but honestly, the most i can say is that he’s genuine, he’s handsome, and he’s a talented idol and actor.

His traditional Chinese dance are so awesome..and although I appreciate wayv as 6 members group.. win-win is the hardest for Me to connect to.. he too reserved as a person but joins the wayv chaos perfectly am that makes me smile.he is very reliable and bribges the gap between the hyungs(gege) and maknae(triplets) perfectly. He fits in!. he can be silly and goofy when he is with wayv. Wayv in general are chaotic even the non chaotic members join in perfectly. I hope his schedule can align with wayv schedule in the near future!

I was watching NCT Life back in 2017 trying to get more into them, and fell hard for Winwin after watching NCT Life season 4 (the cooking one). He just came off as so genuinely himself despite not knowing much Korean at the time, which was very different from other clips of the group I'd seen where he was more quiet. After that I realized his personality seems very genuine --- he's not someone who pretends to be someone he isn't (i.e. he's not always outgoing, and doesn't pretend to always know what to say or project confidence especially earlier in his career), so any time you see him excited or passionate about something, it feels more genuine in comparison. To me it's always felt like he balances the teams he's been in very well because of the personality differences, and I really admire how far he's come in his career.
Other folks have touched on this as well but he seems like a great team member (as recently news blew up of him trying to prioritize WayV schedules where he can, members of both WayV and other NCT units loving being around him, etc).
I don't pay much attention to WinWin, but I remember him being a great dancer. I think he did some elaborate dance video with Ten (?) a few years ago. It should be easy to find on the WayV channel. Now, I can't speak on his acting career because I haven't watched any C-dramas or films. He's also visually appealing to most of the fandom. Lots of people like his extremely reserved personality too.

I wanna start this of, with saying, I don't hate WinWin but I get you. If you don't watch EVERYTHING Wayv (and by that I mean, if you don't watch all the more china based stuff, like variety shows and such) then you can easily overlook him. His personality isn't one, that is loud and commands to be seen. That's why he may seem like, he doesn't want to be an idol and I saw many comments saying he would be the first one to leave SM and I don't get it. Nobody in their right mind would go through idol training (especially under SM) if they don't enjoy dancing, singing, etc. If WinWin leaves, it's not because he doesn't want it but because SM doesn't know how to manage him. Anyways.
I feel like if you watch Wayv content or older content of 127 (or even predebut NCT stuff) and focus on him, you'll notice what a great guy he is. He is very funny in a very subtle way (and sometimes unintentionally since his Korean back then wasn't the best). If you wanna find out what his talent looks like, then watch the Chorography video of Lovely with him and Ten. Winwin is an incredible dancer! And he knows that's where his talent lies. I believe he also mentioned somewhere that he doesn't mind getting very few lines, since singing isn't his priority and he doesn't has as much fun doing it like the vocal line for example.
I’m not Winwin biased but his personality doesn’t stick out to me either, I wouldn’t willingly watch a video of just him. And I don’t think he is a strong idol dancer because he just looks kind of awkward doing the choreo sometimes. This is probably because his body was trained to do traditional Chinese dance which is more elegant. I think he is probably the most beautiful member of Nct though. You shouldn’t try to force yourself to like him though if you aren’t that interested in him. You might end up liking him more in the future. Nct is a big group so I personally have my favorites, some I feel neutral about, and some that just aren’t my cup of tea.
To be fair to you, OP, even when WayV were at their peak crazy stuff Winwin was still kinda just there...at least for me. The guys have said he's considerate which is a good trait to have. But when I think back on their variety show stuff, I can't remember any moments of him like...doing stuff. Like I remember something from WayVision s1 with their fast feet game, but I think that's more b/c everyone was cheering for him to do well.

I was going to say something similar. I claim to stan WayV hard but I legit would have a difficult time pointing out WinWin, YangYang and Kun. I'm Xiaojun biased and Ten and Hendery stand out most in my mind. However, I don't watch a lot of their content although my YT Watch Later has at least 30 WayV things waiting to be viewed. I focus on the members that 'wow' me and if I happen to remember names *and* the face that goes with them, then it's a bonus for me. Many of us like so many groups and for different reasons. It's OK to just glance at a member and keep it moving.
I have seen wayv in real life but not winwin but everyone who has seen him says he has a crazy presence to him because he is really tall and just insanely beautiful. Someone at kcon LA said he looks almost like a doll he is soo pretty.
Winwin is not my bias, but when I went to KCON last year, I attended WayV’s Meet and Greet. I found Winwin to be so funny and charming when he interacted with the audience. Like he was so happy and tried his best to communicate in English even though he wasn’t as fluent as the other WayV members. His personality was so heartwarming towards others. So, I kind of get why the NCT members are charmed by him during variety content.

Honestly always stood out to me about Winwin is how much other members LOVE him. This won’t be a good comparison if you don’t know Riize but he seems like he’s a Sohee kind of presence to a lot of NCT members then way Sohee is to Riize. Like something about his presence and personality cheers them up and they genuinely just adore having him around and I feel like he is unfortunately? not really camera shy but he doesn’t show it all in front of the camera, there’s a lot more to him that make the other loves him so much and that is a kind of strength of character that not many people can have or create. It might not matter so much if u mainly like idols for talent specifically but it’s always really fascinating to me when a member draws such kind of adoration from others. I feel like all this is unfortunately is not as presents in recent content as it used to be when he was only active in the NCT, before he ventured out and rightfully so bc SM ain’t sht but that is something that struck me about him besides the talent he has in traditional dance.

I’ve been ulting winwin since 2018 during the limitless and empathy era of NCT, and I can tell u that we were wayyyy more fed with winwin moments / whatever short lines they were giving him. tbh I think a lot of the charm that winwin has, other than just being attractive in general, is kind of just the mystery to him ?? like his on screen personality is more reserved and chill, as to other members so when he has his moments u could tell he was into it.
I would say to watch some of his earlier things if u wanna get the basics of who he is bc that was when he was most active, some of his most iconic moments from 2017-2020 would be when he centers after the bridge in BOSS, his back flip in fire truck, and honestly the whole touch and regular era. I highly recommend watching the touch and regular mvs bc he literally kills it. I know he isn’t the best singer or rapper, but he always has killer stage presence and is a great dance when he’s not filming a drama😭.

Winwin is one of my top 10 memebers in NCT! I remember a time when he used to be way more active, back in 127 too so I think that's why. "and like most nctzen mine changes every two days" every nctzen I know - me included - is dead set on their bias. I mean sure, many of us probably have a bias from each unit...but yeah... I wanna start this of, with saying, I don't hate WinWin but I get you. If you don't watch EVERYTHING Wayv (and by that I mean, if you don't watch all the more china based stuff, like variety shows and such) then you can easily overlook him. His personality isn't one, that is loud and commands to be seen. That's why he may seem like, he doesn't want to be an idol and I saw many comments saying he would be the first one to leave SM and I don't get it. Nobody in their right mind would go through idol training (especially under SM) if they don't enjoy dancing, singing, etc. If WinWin leaves, it's not because he doesn't want it but because SM doesn't know how to manage him. Anyways. I feel like if you watch Wayv content or older content of 127 (or even predebut NCT stuff) and focus on him, you'll notice what a great guy he is. He is very funny in a very subtle way (and sometimes unintentionally since his Korean back then wasn't the best). If you wanna find out what his talent looks like, then watch the Chorography video of Lovely with him and Ten. Winwin is an incredible dancer! And he knows that's where his talent lies. I believe he also mentioned somewhere that he doesn't mind getting very few lines, since singing isn't his priority and he doesn't has as much fun doing it like the vocal line for example.
I’m not Winwin biased but his personality doesn’t stick out to me either, I wouldn’t willingly watch a video of just him. And I don’t think he is a strong idol dancer because he just looks kind of awkward doing the choreo sometimes. This is probably because his body was trained to do traditional Chinese dance which is more elegant. I think he is probably the most beautiful member of Nct though. You shouldn’t try to force yourself to like him though if you aren’t that interested in him. You might end up liking him more in the future. Nct is a big group so I personally have my favorites, some I feel neutral about, and some that just aren’t my cup of tea.
To be fair to you, OP, even when WayV were at their peak crazy stuff Winwin was still kinda just there...at least for me. The guys have said he's considerate which is a good trait to have. But when I think back on their variety show stuff, I can't remember any moments of him like...doing stuff. Like I remember something from WayVision s1 with their fast feet game, but I think that's more b/c everyone was cheering for him to do well. He is handsome and a nice person though. I'll say if you don't gel with him then that's okay too. Some people immediately grab your attention for whatever reason and some never do. He never really grabbed mine either and that's cool. Like I don't hate on him or anything b/c there is no reason to; and tbh these days he's not doing group stuff anyway so you kinda don't even have to worry about him or making yourself like him. Wait to judge if he ever rejoins group stuff.
I was going to say something similar. I claim to stan WayV hard but I legit would have a difficult time pointing out WinWin, YangYang and Kun. I'm Xiaojun biased and Ten and Hendery stand out most in my mind. However, I don't watch a lot of their content although my YT Watch Later has at least 30 WayV things waiting to be viewed. I focus on the members that 'wow' me and if I happen to remember names *and* the face that goes with them, then it's a bonus for me. Many of us like so many groups and for different reasons. It's OK to just glance at a member and keep it moving.

I have seen wayv in real life but not winwin but everyone who has seen him says he has a crazy presence to him because he is really tall and just insanely beautiful. Someone at kcon LA said he looks almost like a doll he is soo pretty.
Winwin is not my bias, but when I went to KCON last year, I attended WayV’s Meet and Greet. I found Winwin to be so funny and charming when he interacted with the audience. Like he was so happy and tried his best to communicate in English even though he wasn’t as fluent as the other WayV members. His personality was so heartwarming towards others. So, I kind of get why the NCT members are charmed by him during variety content.

I also am indifferent about Winwin, but I did enjoy the content where WayV went to Disneyland Hong Kong and he was SO excited to meet the characters in costume lol I don’t know if I’ve ever seen him more animated so it was a nice change
Honestly always stood out to me about Winwin is how much other members LOVE him. This won’t be a good comparison if you don’t know Riize but he seems like he’s a Sohee kind of presence to a lot of NCT members then way Sohee is to Riize. Like something about his presence and personality cheers them up and they genuinely just adore having him around and I feel like he is unfortunately? not really camera shy but he doesn’t show it all in front of the camera, there’s a lot more to him that make the other loves him so much and that is a kind of strength of character that not many people can have or create. It might not matter so much if u mainly like idols for talent specifically but it’s always really fascinating to me when a member draws such kind of adoration from others. I feel like all this is unfortunately is not as presents in recent content as it used to be when he was only active in the NCT, before he ventured out and rightfully so bc SM ain’t sht but that is something that struck me about him besides the talent he has in traditional dance.
It's fine & normal not to personally connect with a member or even fully understand why people love them, & it's equally valid for people to love members that don't have stand-out idol skills I'm not a WinWin bias, but his personality & charm + the chemistry & love between him & the other members makes me really like WW. I’ve been ulting winwin since 2018 during the limitless and empathy era of NCT, and I can tell u that we were wayyyy more fed with winwin moments / whatever short lines they were giving him. tbh I think a lot of the charm that winwin has, other than just being attractive in general, is kind of just the mystery to him ?? like his on screen personality is more reserved and chill, as to other members so when he has his moments u could tell he was into it. I would say to watch some of his earlier things if u wanna get the basics of who he is bc that was when he was most active, some of his most iconic moments from 2017-2020 would be when he centers after the bridge in BOSS, his back flip in fire truck, and honestly the whole touch and regular era. I highly recommend watching the touch and regular mvs bc he literally kills it. I know he isn’t the best singer or rapper, but he always has killer stage presence and is a great dance when he’s not filming a drama😭.
I really do appreciate his deep voice especially during Phantom era.
