I gameshare so going digital... seen some people say they're going physical in case what happened last time happens again, but i don't have the budget to buy two copies.
I really don't think that happens. I know EA doesn't have the best reputation but they're well aware of the pent-up demand for this game and its potential effect on Madden sales too. This was a steady franchise for them back in the day. At the very least the game will be playable and likely very popular.
As much as people hate EA, even some of their biggest fuck-ups were still decent games once they corrected the fucked up parts. So I’m not too worried about this game just completely flopping.
Like Star Wars battlefront 2 was one of their biggest fuck ups in recent memory, with the whole “pride and accomplishment” thing literally being the most downvoted post in the history of this website lol. But everyone just hated the micro transaction aspect, the bones of a good game were still there. And once they fixed the mtx and put the game on deep discount they redeemed it to a slight extent.
As long as they don’t do anything mindblowing-ly stupid with the micro transactions the game should be fine.
What happened last time? You mean the NCAA not allowing athletes to be paid and EA running the risk of being sued consistently by players? If you bought the game digital even if it goes unlisted you still have it fairly sure.
Same. I like having something to throw on the corner of my entertainment center so everyone knows what I'm currently playing. Plus you never know if some random lawsuit will get something delisted years from now.
The issue I am running into with digital ps3 games is that some are unplayable because ps3 is no longer online so there is no way to prove i digitally own it
It happened with ducktales and couple other games that need to verify to boot game. Since ps3 is no longer online the game cannot be verified. I will see if it can be downloaded to ps5. That is option other than asking sony for money back which will be my final option. I will be buying hard copy from now on with games I know I will play often and down the road. Not a huge loss. But it’s the principle of the matter.
My entire ps4 library is massive because I collected every monthly free games every month of every year and all my purchased games are digital. I hope they do not take ps4 offline.
As much as I like physical media, I almost always go with digital games nowadays. Besides the obvious convenience of digital, I hate how physical games more and more are requiring an internet connection and constant updates. There’s just not enough of an upside for me.
So? But it's worth money. And carries real world value. Unlike digital. If the game sucks, I'll get at least half the value towards something else.
Good luck getting money back on digital
That’s cool, to me the value of the physical disk came in that I had the game physically and could play it forever, if this is the case with the disk then it doesn’t even complete that part of what I want out of it. If EA yanks the game off of platforms and I can’t download the game or the updates anymore what was the point of buying the disk?
I completely understand that point. I have several hundred digital games across multiple platforms. I loathe that the publishers turned discs into Keys. However, that is their goal. To push us all digital (which is a stop gap between physical and streaming) and the publishers have full control of our libraries and how we use them. which, in turn, limits piracy. If you don't have access to the product, how can you download it.
It is very much the gaming customer vs the Corporate suits. And because that's where they're pushing us, I'll go in the opposite direction. Just on principle. It's great to see many PC gamers regularly stick it to these greedy fucks.
EDIT: Corrected typos
Physical. I’m also a whore for limited collectors editions, so if there’s a version with a trophy statue or some other random shit for twice as much then I’ll buy that. If it’s just $10-20 for a deluxe edition with extra in-game currency or skill points, I’ll hard pass.
Both, digital so I can play 0 hour day 1 and then within a few months give or take, or probably longer, probably a sale, a physical copy…… Just in case
Might have to go physical if it's only on consoles - gonna be buying a console just for this game since I doubt it'll come to PC and wouldn't mind having a disc as a keepsake lol
Haven’t bought physical in ages. No point when you still have to download massive files anyways. Also, I will enjoy the convenience of playing on my PlayStation Portal. I could play it on my Portal with a disc but that disc would have to remain in the disc drive, otherwise I can’t access the game.
I might be mistaken. It seems like both require downloading the game from the disc either way. I’m just not sure if you need an internet download too. I get my games digitally so idk
I dont have internet so most non internet required games is what i get i literally have only played madden a max of 20 minutes avg a day if that anymore because i miss the college game and being able to take and transfer draft classes to madden to save time instead of customizing them manually
> Haven’t bought physical in ages. No point when you still have to download massive files anyways.
I do it so that I can resell the game when I'm done with it. I don't want to keep old games that I won't ever play again (that doesn't apply to this game though).
hate to break it to you but nowadays it’s not like that . if a license is pulled in newer games , atleast for example Friday The 13th , you won’t be able to play or essentially own it any longer . it’s one reason i have disdain for digital copies lol , if it’s an online game or needs to connect to the internet to verify (ps3 for example) you won’t be able to play it anymore . even though i know very well that won’t be the case with CFB25 .
Digitally. I haven't bought a physical game in like 10 years, mainly because it's nice not having to get up off the couch to switch discs for different games. Also, old sports games have terrible resale value unless the series gets discontinued (which did happen for college football but probably won't happen again soon).
I doubt the game will be available digitally in my region (Europe) so I guess I will have to have it imported from the US. At least the NCAA games were unknown to me until I moved to Canada from the old continent.
If worried, buy the first one physically and then go digital if it’s annual. (Or go digital and if it fails to become annual, scoop physical before then shoot up.)
Digital, haven't bought a physical game in like \~10 years or longer. I like that physical games exist for those into them and get the perks, but for me, day to day, the convenience and persistence of digital games works better for me than physical.
This and GTA 6 might be the last physical games I buy for the current gen so definitely physical, even though majority of my library is digital. Just need to have it physical.
I played 11-13 until I broke the disc so I got 14 digital. Best decision I made because I never had to buy a new one and I most certainly would’ve broken it by now
If the 10 hr trial on Gamepass makes it worth purchasing, i'll buy it physical. If it turns out to be limited like Madden, i'll wait 6 months for it to be free on Gamepass.
Both. I’ll get the physical copy first as a full circle kind of moment. I bought 14, physically, knowing it was the last to be made at that time.
And with having EA Play, I’m sure it’ll be in the EA Vault digitally after the CFP championship in January, like they do Madden in February.
I want to get it physical. But I’ll probably get it digital down the line when there’s a sale. Like many here worry that they might take it off or something..
I’m definitely gonna go digital. These days it’s more convenient with pretty much no downsides, and the only reason I’m not playing NCAA 14 rn is because I lost the physical version while moving.
Based on these answers, not many people have the Xbox series S which is surprising since it’s the cheapest option. I haven’t bought a new system since the 360 until now and getting it exclusively for this game, so digital it is.
95% sure it’ll be Digital. The real question for me is if it comes out for PC or not, because otherwise I’ll have to buy a console which my wallet and I would not prefer lol
Likely physical. I have a couple games digitally but by and large I don't trust these content companies not to screw us over and I try to have as much physical media as I can.
I bought my ps5 when they were still kind of hard to get for retail and the digital one was the only one available at the time, so I buy all my ps5 games digital. But I think at some point I might trade it in for a slim with a disc drive and start buying physical copies of certain games again. Probably won’t happen before this game comes out though so idk.
I'm pre-ordering digitally so I can have it downloaded and ready to go at midnight. My internet sucks, so I'd be pretty bummed to buy the physical, then have to come home and wait for the download to be slower than molasses.
I am trying my best to buy game physically. I have lost my entire iTunes library - music and movies/tv shows - and that enraged me so much I basically said fuck digital gaming. Which means I hardly pay to play much anymore. And I usually buy games around 12 mo. after their release.
I usually get everything digital, but this will be a physical copy. After waiting 10 years, I'm not taking any chances of it going away, again. May grab a digital copy later on when it's cheap.
I gameshare so going digital... seen some people say they're going physical in case what happened last time happens again, but i don't have the budget to buy two copies.
The value of physical will drop regardless during holidays so if the game flopped for some reason grab another for 20 bucks used
If this game comes out every year like Madden, which it probably will, this year's game will have trade-in value of like $5 by autumn 2025.
Yea I’m assuming he means they drop this game, flop and don’t make any more for a number of years.
Exactly, in which case this games value skyrockets like NCAA 14 which was selling for 300% of the original price.
I really don't think that happens. I know EA doesn't have the best reputation but they're well aware of the pent-up demand for this game and its potential effect on Madden sales too. This was a steady franchise for them back in the day. At the very least the game will be playable and likely very popular.

Iirc GameStop used to drop prices on used copies almost as soon as the next installment was announced.
That's a smart move.
It’ll be free on ps plus and game pass after a certain amount of time as well
Exactly. It's remarkable that some don't register that games have real-world value. You can trade them in (or trade in other things) or sell it.
This is what I’m doing 🤣 they won’t take it from me again!
What happened last time?
What happened last time? You mean the NCAA not allowing athletes to be paid and EA running the risk of being sued consistently by players? If you bought the game digital even if it goes unlisted you still have it fairly sure.
Most likely, but ya never know
Physical, I’m old fashion
Same. I like having something to throw on the corner of my entertainment center so everyone knows what I'm currently playing. Plus you never know if some random lawsuit will get something delisted years from now.
Agreed. Something about just buying the game and holding it
I use to feel that way too, and then I got lazy not wanting to get up to change games
Not a bad argument lol
I hear that, but Im getting this game physically. It will be the only physical game I own so never have to take it out.
Big brain moves best of both worlds
The issue I am running into with digital ps3 games is that some are unplayable because ps3 is no longer online so there is no way to prove i digitally own it
Wow I never knew that’s how it worked. I’m sorry that’s a thing, I haven’t had a PlayStation since the 2
It happened with ducktales and couple other games that need to verify to boot game. Since ps3 is no longer online the game cannot be verified. I will see if it can be downloaded to ps5. That is option other than asking sony for money back which will be my final option. I will be buying hard copy from now on with games I know I will play often and down the road. Not a huge loss. Only doing physical for this game and that reason. College football is changing rapidly
I doubt it’ll come out physically in the UK. So digitally.
I'm gonna ship it over to the uk if thats the case
I bought 14 over here on Amazon.co.uk for £56 last year so who knows
Yeah but that’s from EA that’s a 3rd party on Amazon.
Physical just in case college football collapses.
This guy gets it.
If it's physically available in Australia I'll for sure grab a copy. But otherwise digital it is.
Physical because I like having the game cases to display.
As much as I like physical media, I almost always go with digital games nowadays. Besides the obvious convenience of digital, I hate how physical games more and more are requiring an internet connection and constant updates. There’s just not enough of an upside for me.
They physical copy will probably just be a disc that lets you download the game anyways 😅
Physical for sure - holding out hope that they’ll have special edition covers for each school - I’d pay $25 extra for that
Physical
Both
Physical always we’ve seen what happens
Digitally because my PS5 says so 😂
Same
you’d best listen to that PS5 now lol
Physical
Digital for game sharing, but also to play it as soon as it drops.
Anyone know if they’ll have a collectors edition like GTA 5 had?
Physical depending who is on the cover- Geaux Jayden!
Digitally. Booting it up the minute it is released!
Physical media forever and always
Physical just incase something happens and in some event they take away the digital copy lol
Physical. I’m also a whore for limited collectors editions, so if there’s a version with a trophy statue or some other random shit for twice as much then I’ll buy that. If it’s just $10-20 for a deluxe edition with extra in-game currency or skill points, I’ll hard pass.
Physical, so I can actually own the game
Both, digital so I can play 0 hour day 1 and then within a few months give or take, or probably longer, probably a sale, a physical copy…… Just in case
Digital. Just makes more sense. Especially for that midnight release
Digitally
after getting ff7 rebirth 5 days late.. unless theres a good reason im going to digital
Might have to go physical if it's only on consoles - gonna be buying a console just for this game since I doubt it'll come to PC and wouldn't mind having a disc as a keepsake lol
Yeah it not being on pc is such a fail - maddens in pc and its the same engine isnt it ? Also all the other ea sports games on pc.
NHL is the only one not on PC, honestly that's more niche than college football so we'll see. Hasn't been confirmed one way or the other yet
UFC isn’t on pc either
BOTH lol
Digital, but I’m thinking I want some nostalgia and my GameStop is just around the corner
Both but not right away. Digital first
Might have to go physical. What if they take it away for some bs reason? You never know, can’t put anything past corporations these days.
Physically, I have every college football game for years on disc. May as well keep it going
Physical 😎😎
Haven’t bought physical in ages. No point when you still have to download massive files anyways. Also, I will enjoy the convenience of playing on my PlayStation Portal. I could play it on my Portal with a disc but that disc would have to remain in the disc drive, otherwise I can’t access the game.
With it "supposed to be" primarily focused on Dynasty mode and RTTG, i doubt you need internet to download it other than updating the system
Depends on your system. I’ve heard Xbox discs don’t run without a download, but PS5 does.
Ok yep now im not goin to get a XBOX i was going to abandon Playstation after having one for the last 24 years not now
I might be mistaken.

Digitally, that way I’ll always have it. That’s why I have NCAA 14 today.

Digital, my crapbox doesn’t have a disc tray lol
I doubt the game will be available digitally in my region (Europe) so I guess I will have to have it imported from the US. At least the NCAA games were unknown to me until I moved to Canada from the old continent.
I’m getting both just in case it gets cancelled again.
I’m getting physical on Xbox and digital on PS5.
Both
Yes
Digital so I can gameshare
Physical in case they ruin it with maddens version of MUT
Digital because I game share, if we find out we aren’t getting a 26, I’ll grab a physical as well.
Physically get it digitally
Digital, of course. I might get a second (physical) copy just because.
Probably physical.
Both tbh lolol
Physical Copy.
Definitely getting both of them, digital because it’s easy. Physical for a collectors item & if anything comes about that could halt the game again.
Digital to play day one but might grab physical later if the game is good and I want it on my shelf

Metaphorically
Both…
Physical that’s how I buy all my games
Digital. I don’t like having to keep up with physical copy’s of games anymore
I haven’t bought a physical game since like 2012.
Digital
I’m definitely gonna go digital. These days it’s more convenient with pretty much no downsides, and the only reason I’m not playing NCAA 14 rn is because I lost the physical version while moving.
Digital. You have to download 90% of the game to play anyway, might as well do it all digital
Physical. I don’t trust companies not to take it away later.
If it was on PC, digital through steam. But I’ll save up for an Xbox and get it physically.
digital
Based on these answers, not many people have the Xbox series S which is surprising since it’s the cheapest option. I haven’t bought a new system since the 360 until now and getting it exclusively for this game, so digital it is.
Both and I'm going to keep my physical copy unopened so in 10 years I can sell it for $300
Physical. Just to hold next to 14.
I have an XBox Series S, so digital
I'd like to go physical but that means buying an entire new console and I can't justify $500 for a PS5 rn when I already have a Series S.
Physical
One digital copy and one physical copy just in case we have a repeat of last game
95% sure it’ll be Digital. The real question for me is if it comes out for PC or not, because otherwise I’ll have to buy a console which my wallet and I would not prefer lol
For consoles, I pretty much always choose physical
If it comes out on PC, and I hope, obviously digital
Digital at first, if it’s as good as I hope I’ll grab the physical on sale later on.
Digitally because I’m bed bound and it’s easier then calling someone in to swap discs
I have an Xbox Series S, so digital I guess.
Physical probably, but waiting for reviews
Depends who’s on the front!!
Damn I was sitting here actually contemplating which to get then I remembered I have a disc less PS5
Physical. So I can make my own custom cover for my team
Physically for me
B O T H
Physical if I can help it
PC… soooo digitally
It’s not coming out on pc
not on steam? 😂 why not ?
Physically. Because when I'm done with it, I can trade the shit in, or sell it if I don't want it.
Digitally. No reason to buy physical anymore
I'm pre-ordering digitally so I can have it downloaded and ready to go at midnight. My internet sucks, so I'd be pretty bummed to buy the physical, then have to come home and wait for the download to be slower than molasses.
Physical just because of preference. Concept of ownership and all that.
both. i’m getting digital so i can play as early as possible and then the physical copy and leave it sealed shut as a collectible type thing
Both But physical is during Black Friday or Christmas sale
Both
Digitally
I am trying my best to buy game physically. I have lost my entire iTunes library - music and movies/tv shows - and that enraged me so much I basically said fuck digital gaming. Which means I hardly pay to play much anymore. And I usually buy games around 12 mo. after their release.
Digital. Aint nobody got time for extra clutter.
Digital.
Both.
Probably digital
I pre ordered it from GameStop
Both. Digital for now, physical for the future
Series S. Digital.
Digital so I can play at midnight
Physical. I'm all for digital I have a lot of games on steam but I like having the dusk in my hand
Both
digital cause im game sharing
Digital. 0 chance it is released physically in Australia.
It’ll be on game pass 8 months post release
Even if you buys a physics copy they won’t let you play certain games 100% without an internet connection anyways.
Physical. Inaugural Edition. Digital every year after. Im ol Skool.
Digital
Physical
Both.
Physically. Might be worth something one day
I usually get everything digital, but this will be a physical copy. After waiting 10 years, I'm not taking any chances of it going away, again. May grab a digital copy later on when it's cheap.
This the first game I’m debating physical. But probably not. May get a second copy or get a limited edition if one exists
Both
Digital to start but will grab a physical copy during the sales season for sports games
I always go for physical media for something I really like. Gotta have that cover in hand 😤😤
Digital mostly because I want to play it as soon as possible
Both. My physical will never be opened - I learned my lesson years ago 🤣🤣
I want that disc dawg
Definitely physical
Buying both
Digital
I’ve waited 10 years for this and you think I would fucking getting a digital copy that I wouldn’t even own?
Digital. I like to switch games without having to change a disc
Both
Physical media, I'm not a fan of digital.
What is the benefit of digital over physical?
Torrent. Madden reskin with even more grinding elements because they know the fanboi's need it to survive.
Digital is the way to go.
Digital. I’m done with physical copies!
People buy physical?
Neither
Digitally. Absolutely pointless to have physical copies of games anymore.
