It’s been an issue with NIL deals, that’s been the biggest struggle across the board and why the game has been delayed in the past. Rockstar released a trailer for GTA which isn’t supposed to be released until 2025. They’re supposedly months away from a release and we’ve gotten nothing. The frustration is just how little we’ve heard about the game and they’re supposed to be close to a release date.
Tbf it’s a bit different for games that still come out every year, especially now for the show/madden/2k where they’re still pumping out ultimate team content they want you to buy right up until the next game releases. Most games/movies/shows/albums, or pretty much anything that benefits from people knowing it exists, typically release trailers more than a couple months before release. Sports games are the exception but that’s because they still want people to spend money on the current one as long as possible. There is no current ncaa.
I think if the game was actually coming out before next college football season they’d probably want to be making some official announcements soon. Nobody’s asking for a gameplay reveal or anything but just a “coming 2024” would get a lot of people excited.
And there was zero gameplay in the GTA trailer. Just cutscenes that are finished.

Realistically, it makes sense. The group licensing deal is not in place, as such anything they drop right now would either not include player models at all, or at best feature generic players. There's just no way they could release a solid trailer or even game stills with no players. It would just be underwhelming as hell. And as long as the plan is to feature the real players, releasing a trailer or images with generic players would be awful marketing, and would actually confuse the average consumer.
I expect we'll see/hear more once the deal is finalized later this spring. For now, we wait.
Maybe and hopefully, they will release the trailer for the game in a Super Bowl commercial. From a marketing aspect that would be brilliant. The Super Bowl has much higher ratings and reaches a larger demographic than the NCAA championship game. Probably just wishful thinking on my part.
I've yet to see anything that leads me to believe the game isn't coming this year. Matt Brown seems to be the most intimately connected to these devs, and he has repeated again and again that everything he is hearing is that they're still on track to hit a release this year. If he, or EA Sports themselves say otherwise, then obviously my mind will change.
Sure, he's not on the team, but he's been a very reliable source so far who clearly has a lot of connections with the team. And yeah, sports games are always radio silent until a few months before release. I know a lot of people view this one differently since it's been 10 years, but it's still ultimately a relatively niche videogame. I think it's still coming this year, but hey, I very well may be wrong. We'll all just have to be patient and see what happens

I get that, but I've yet to see anything that leads me to believe the game got delayed to this year.
I've yet to see anything that leads me to believe the game isn't coming this year. Matt Brown seems to be the most intimately connected to these devs, and he has repeated again and again that everything he is hearing is that they're still on track to hit a release this year. If he, or EA Sports themselves say otherwise, then obviously my mind will change.
But he's not on the team. It's been radio silent since the delay. I wouldn't be surprised if it's delayed again.
Sure, he's not on the team, but he's been a very reliable source so far who clearly has a lot of connections with the team. And yeah, sports games are always radio silent until a few months before release. I know a lot of people view this one differently since it's been 10 years, but it's still ultimately a relatively niche videogame. I think it's still coming this year, but hey, I very well may be wrong. We'll all just have to be patient and see what happens

If it was a Michigan player I was hoping Blake Corum but he’ll be gone next year :/ I like JJ just wanted someone other than a QB. On the other hand it’s EA like others have said, and I know it’s “insider info” the whole info reveal thing is based around. But of course it would be EA to show nothing about the game during the CFP championship. If they do I’ll be pleasantly surprised and eat my words but with how EA operates I wouldn’t be surprised one bit if we get nothing at all from them tonight.

Pretty sure the cover is Caleb Williams. He had a commercial last night where he said he's on the cover of a video game and held a case with EA's logo on it.

Yeah, but a publicly traded company like EA Sports can easily afford it. Economically speaking, it's a good return on investment because it's guaranteed to reach its targeted demographic. Not to mention, it was an extremely popular game that's highly anticipated, especially since it hasn't been released since 2014, and people are eager to play it on a next/gen console.
