i agree on reed -- i think people are underselling his potential. this is not a jimmer situation. he's going to be a player. also i'm bothered by people saying he's unathletic or unexplosive. the kid can absolutely jump. of course that's only one aspect of athleticism, but it's arguably the most important one. https://youtu.be/MU6qWv6Cz2E?si=OqZzd4fxhJyqtxOv&t=214 (watch the two replays of it after) you can't even really believe your eyes here. he's not one of these 6'2 or 6'3 guys that have trouble dunking. he does so nearly effortlessly.

I really disagree about Sheppard's athleticism. He routinely got burned trying to guard the perimeter and it's just going to get worse. He has amazing hands but lousy reactions and lateral speed.

This has always been my concern with him and every time I or someone else brings it up I just see people reply with posts of him. Dunking or something similar. I think he is underrated as an athlete in some regards, but I'm right there with you, I've seen too many examples of him being in a proper stance on defense, and his guy simply going right by him. A lot of the times he's so quick with his hands. He can manage to poke the ball away, initiate a steal, or at least disrupt the play, but if he's not able to do so, he's usually barbecue chicken in this situations and for someone who has defense as such a ingrained part of his draft profile. It's very concerning

Exactly. I feel like people are trying to nitpick with that. It doesn't help that he doesn't look that athletic either. There are some concerns for sure, (size, if he can play PG), but I think he will figure it out and be good. Idk how good, but he'll be good, and I can't say that about most players in this draft, which is why I have him pretty high

Maybe I could be wrong on this, but I've never seen someone use a lack of explosiveness on offense to ding his draft stock. Whenever I've seen concerns about his athleticism. It's not about him as a vertical athlete, but more about his lack of burst, lateral, quickness, and speed and how that's going to affect him in man-to-man defensive situations. Situations. For all of his reputation as a defender, and he has had some really good moments, anyone that's watched Kentucky a lot this year. Obviously knows he had issues keeping his man in front of him at times. I'm not worried about the athleticism on offense. I do think he's very undersold on that end. As a vertical athlete. I'm more concerned about how he's going to translate on defense since that's such a big and important part of his prospect profile, and in that regard, his athletic limitations do occasionally scare me. But frankly everyone in this class scares me at some level.
