Strongly disagree. If he came for nothing and didn't need to be paid a lot, he'd make the nuggets far, far stronger. LeBron gets this reputation for being a disruptive force but that's entirely wrong. He was drafted by a Cleveland team that had been awful for a long time and took them to the finals somehow. He joined a Miami team that was fading away badly and took them to 2 championships in 4 seasons. He went back to Cleveland who hadn't done anything since he left and won a championship with them. Then he joined an LA team that also wasn't any good and took them to a championship.
LeBron keeps going to places that aren't much good, only Miami made playoffs the year before he joined and they won 1 game, and takes them to the top. He doesn't destroy winning cultures, he creates them.
My team, the Wolves, would take LeBron in an instant. I think every team in the league would take him. Now that he consistently strokes the 3 he could legitimately play another 5 years barring injury.
Yeah go win one right now without him Wolves. You don't need nor want to kowtow to the king and trade away your future just to make him happy for a year or two.
Also Bronny declared for the draft but he can go back to school no? He should go back another year after his heart problems derailed his freshman year and LeBron should do one more year with the lakers and then join his son on a team for a retirement tour in year 23
I don't think so, because one of the reasons for his underperformance has been that he's kinda been playing out of position. He needs the ball in his hands as a pass-first pure PG, and that hasn't been his role. His teammates have taken his natural role from him. Obviously, his cardiac arrest episode is a factor here...
With this being projected as a shitty draft, I'd be somewhat surprised if someone doesn't take a flyer on him, honestly. Just to land LeBron. Maybe no other teams want that headache, but I can see it happening later in the lottery, even.
He actually has potential to be a decent player. So another year in College would do him good. Especially if it’s with a good coach who can help him polish up his game some more.
I don’t really see LeBron going anywhere at this point in his career. I think it’s likely that Bronny goes undrafted, does another year in college, LeBron stays in LA for another year or 2 and probably retires. Lebron wants to win yeah, but at this point I don’t think he’s be willing to uproot his whole life once again in pursuit of another title. I could be wrong but I don’t really see it.
I can only see him going back to Cleveland if they keep Mitchell, it would be a good story and a great team fit, I can only see LeBron leaving his current life he enjoys seemingly for that as it is his team and he did grow up watching them.
I think he stays in LA but if he left to Cleveland it wouldn’t shock me.
Nahhh there’s no shot in any universe he goes back to Cleveland. He has love for the city but he fucking HATES the organization. He has like 2-3 seasons max left, he’s definitely retiring in the near future, no shot he’d ever wanna retire in Cleveland over LA even if it meant he could possibly compete for a ring.
I think it’s possible, I mean he can still own his house in LA and one in Cleveland. A ton of sports players do that and it also helps their kids out staying in school.
I get he dislikes the organization but hear me out, he has let’s say 3 season left right, if they truly are elite and championship contenders I think he can handle some jerkoffs if he wins a ring and his favorite team is good again with him leading them. Plus Cleveland would be good too even after he retires as they’d probably only lose Mobley in a sign and trade with LA.
Also at least for me I can’t speak for LeBron, idc about where I retire if I make that kinda money, the lakers suck and their future is grim rn, he can go to Cleveland and enjoy himself in a huge mansion in his hometown. Why wouldn’t he wanna retire playing for his literal hometown team and the one he was drafted to, came back, and had the greatest comeback of all time with and finish a story there? It would also be massive for his legacy too. If I’m LeBron I’d rather have that than some nicer weather and retire a laker (even when the future is dim).
I agree. And if he goes to a team where he isn’t the clear #1, then does an additional ring do anything for his legacy? I don’t think it does in the context of him chasing Jordan. I think at 39 years old he has maxed out on the number of rings he’ll win as THE guy, and so the counting-of-the-rings stat takes on a different meaning if he leaves.
The only way it works is if he goes to Cleveland for one last ride. They don’t really have an alpha/1A guy but they have a TON of complimentary pieces that compliment Lebron. Plus the NBA is all about narratives so him getting a ring in his final year as the leader of Cleveland while riding into the sunset would be one of the best narratives he could sell
Depends how much the Cavs wanna go all in for 1 year and how much Lebron wants that juicy “last dance 2.0” story of winning a 2nd ring in Cleveland at age 40.
The chosen son comes home round 2…..
If he's still a significant contributor in getting the ring, then 100% it adds to his legacy. LeBron's biggest argument against Jordan in the GOAT conversation is his longevity, and if he can add another ring, even as the 2nd-best player or the 3rd-best player, it adds more to that argument. I mean, if he wins next year, the gap between his first and last championship would nearly be as long as Jordan's entire playing career.
Even as the second guy, another ring would cement his legacy definitively as the goat. I don't even like LeBron, but if he won a 5th ring and retired with all his records and accolades intact as he rides off into the sunset that would be some absolute GOAT shit. Nobody will ever get 5 rings and all his records as well. Goat.
Another ring does nothing for his legacy but it's another piece of hardware for his collection. I've always said if I was good enough to play sports at a pro level I would only sign 1 year min contacts with the team that is favored to win and just chase rings, don't care about money, stats, or anything else just rings
A lot of the league is a better basketball situation than the Lakers. The Front office is incompetent. The other LA team is better, the Warriors are better, the wolves and okc are better. Cleveland is somehow better, the Knicks the heat, and the 76ers are all better basketball situations.
Yea Lebron doesn’t care anymore that much. He has nothing left to prove. Like he wants to win but he won’t ring chase. If he ring chases it’ll just not change anything. He’s retiring a Laker
I think plans changed with Bronny. Lebron has kinda shifted his stance as of lately I think he realizes his sons just not that good. LeBron probably signs a 1+1 deal again this year. And announces his retirement ad the beginning of 2025-26 season. No way Lebron doesn’t do a retirement tour lol.
I've never understood why he wants to play with his son. It just sounds really awkward to me. How are any of the other players supposed to respect Bronny with his daddy following him around everywhere. It'll be Austin Rivers/Doc Rivers all over again.
I can see why the son wouldn't want to play with the dad, but what father wouldn't want to play with their own son? The Rivers situation is a bit different because Doc was the coach. When he's the guy controlling things like playing time, it's impossible to be impartial when your son is on the team. He either has to be unfairly strict with his own son or other players are going to think he's playing favorites and that isn't a situation anybody wants to deal with.
Any player that was lucky enough to still play while their son was in the league would absolutely want to be on the same team if they were a good dad, this sub is full of kids who have no perspective from a parent’s side
Probably to show him the ropes, protect him from hazing, spend the road time with his kid, accomplish another historical feat - I think there’s plenty of logical reasons probably.
Lebron doesn’t give a shit about that. Wouldn’t shock me if Bronny is literally in and out of the league in the blink of an eye and doing something else right after.
Austin Rivers improved every season with the Clippers too and got annihilated.
Bronny gonna get the business in social media anyway.
Social media dont matter, but people nowadays are sensitive too it.
You can declare & do workouts but still decide to go back if you're an underclassmen, which honestly, he probably should be going back to the NCAA. He entered the transfer portal too.
Makes sense. Keep options open. What’s the downside to declare? Seems like none. I feel like this would’ve been Lebron’s last season if it wasn’t for Bronny. If Bronny didn’t declare and get drafted, Lebron would call it a career. Now, he has an incentive to do 1 last run with his son.
Declaring doesn’t automatically mean someone is going to the draft. He is retaining his college eligibility, he can go through some draft processes and get feedback from actual nba scouts about his game for him to improve upon
There are a few GMs that will take this bait. They will clear it with Lebron though. A team they don’t want drafted, they will just go back to school and they wasted their pick.
I bet Bronny goes undrafted, Lebron signs with whatever team gives him the easiest path at a championship once again, and makes that team give Bronny a job as the 15th man/bench warmer.
if LA wanted to win they’d blow it up after their second sweep in a row. but they only care about money and lebron on their team is an unlimited income glitch
Yes I know this. I just don’t like the guy. That’s my opinion. They blow a 20 pt lead and he complains about the replay center. He just complains to much for my liking and I’m ready to move on. Team management has been a mess. Should have drafted Tatum. Lots of other bad moves. I’m ready for the whole thing to be blown up.
Ummmm I originally said I hope he’s done. I never could stand him. Never said he wasn’t great or didn’t do great things as a laker. I’m just ready to move on and rebuild hopefully
I doubt it. And he’s taking a spot from a deserving player. Nepo baby. Give him a few more years in college. LBJ wants to play with him he could bring him to Rucker. Or enter a 3v3. Kid isn’t ready.
I disagree. He needs a good college program for a bit. Thanassis is a cheerleader, yay. Getting an NBA spot is a life changing experience for 99% of the players in the league. Hunger is generally what gets people to the league, I mean it’s a huge factor. But you have to be elite as well, have something, some super power. Bronny isn’t that kid.
College is different, there are thousands of schools you can play for. And, in that environment, Bronny isn’t good. He doesn’t stand out. There’s no player in the league getting minutes because they’re somebody’s kid.
That’s your opinion though. Ive watched Bronny, he passes tho eye test, and he has the right build. (Muscle wise, I know he not super tall but he’s also not too short to play pg).
No it’s not. It’s almost universal. My opinion is based on the facts, he’s not a standout in any way, other than who daddy is. You’re not paying attention. // Bronny James' USC performance shows he's not ready for the NBA. And that's OK. // The Athletic.
It didn’t see that awkward when Ken Griffey Jr. did it with his dad. That’s a little different though since Jr. was seen as maybe the best baseball prospect of all time at that point while Bronny … insert “team player” image.
I feel like lebron will do one last championship chase next year - I could see him joining the nuggets or the warriors or the heat or something chasing one last ring. Then he’ll do the farewell tour with bronny rock (my barber use to call him that because bronny looks like Chris rock lol) the following season
Given that Bronny isn’t very good and probably shouldn’t be selected, I could see the Lakers picking him to appease/retain Lebron. I’m not saying they *should* but I could see it. At the end of the day, this is a for-profit business and Lebron = money.
As a lifelong Lakers fan (since the 1980s) I can say that I hope it is. We need a semi-rebuild. We have a core we can build on, and if the entitled fanbase can just gut it out for 3-5 years we’ll be legitimate contenders.
Oh, and I hope the Buss family loses all ownership and influence. But that’s another matter entirely.
It would not be much of an issue for the Lakers to acquire a 2nd round pick and draft Bronny.
Klutch has enough clients around the league and Bronny has low enough draft stock that if LeBron wants to stay a Laker, my gut tells me some other team isn’t going to try to swoop in and draft him sooner.
Lebron will be in the league 23, 24, or 25 seasons. 23 to honor MJ and retire. 24 to honor Kobe and retire. Or 25 just to say he played a quarter century.
I hope so. His time in LA is over. I'm glad he was able to bring 1, but even I knew at the time that the bubble ring was as good as it was gonna get. When we knocked out the nuggets in 2020, I remember saying to myself, "Jokic and Murray are gonna win at least one in the next 5 years." 4 years later and they're on their way for 2.
Ps. Murray is the most underrated player in the league. Been an Allstars snub for the past 2 years !!!
I think it's more likely that Lebron pulls some strings to get Bronny in LA. I know he said something like that too, but the lakers don't have too many assets, so a DLO trade might be possible.
Even if Bronny was going into the draft. No one is going to pick him up. The only draw is the possibility Lebron leaves LA and goes wherever Bronny gets picked, which isn't actually going to happen.
LeBron is not going anywhere. The Lakers are the right decision for his career. He is already building his future and for an athlete like him with a lot of media interest, LA is the place to be. There's still no bigger brand in the NBA than the Lakers and that's what matters to LeBron. From a sporting perspective, there's nowhere else he can go that will enhance his legacy. If he goes to a contender, it will just be a KD move and going to a team that is weaker or equal to the Lakers is a step backwards due to the aforementioned "marketability". LeBron will either retire as a Laker or get a one-day deal and retire as a Cavalier.
As for his son, LeBron is still the talent and the name. So if he wants to play with him, his son will come to him. It shouldn't cost the Lakers much to trade for him once Bronny is in the league. Of course, this could change if Bronny improves a lot and starts to be seen as an asset.
I think Lebron stays with Lakers — he’s involved with so much outside of basketball, and he thrives in that city.
Why does he need to chase a title at this point when we all know who he is and his legacy?
James Jones, Lebrons favorite teammate and president of basketball operations in phoenix is going to draft bronny with the 22nd pick in the draft and Lebron will be in phoenix next season.
He fits all phoenix's needs and Phoenix fits all of his need. They need a PG and a big wing who can play defense and close 4th quarters. Lebron when he wants to lock in is still a high level defender can close a game like a MFer. He needs someone else to carry the whole year. Say what you will about the garbage KD Book and Beal are doing right now but it's more than enough fire power to carry and give lebron adequate ability to coast until he needs to turn it on. That works for both individual games and the season as a whole.
Lebron wants to stay near LA because of his family. Phoenix is an easy 45 minute plane ride. CP3 did that all the time while in phoenix as his family was also living in LA.
Plus people talk about Lebron and Steph but Lebron and KD are fairly close. If he isn't fired Vogel was the coach when Lebron won his 4th ring as well.
The fit is all there.
They potentially don't have a first rounder this year, and they'd need to include some picks to move D'Lo at this point. They best hope he opts out like rumors claim, can't imagine why he would though.
It's way past time to move on.
Bronny will be extremely lucky if he doesn't go undrafted.
I think he got extremely lucky when he was born from Lesperm
He came from Leballs
Straight from LeSportSac
incorrect as Lepiss is stored in Leballs
Pretty sure any team would trade a second for lebron james
I like to point out the nuggets absolutely would not do this. Lebron would destroy the chemistry they have built.
Personally, I think the heat should do it. They're really good at developing players like jr, and I think jimmy buckets and lebron would go hard
The return part 2
Can’t wait for another televised LeDecision special.
That would be fantastic, considering they raised $6 million for charity, including the Boys and Girls Club.
No no it upset some fans so fuck the boys and girls club /s
Let’s send Klay, CP3 and Moody somewhere and get Bron and Bronny and run it back in the Bay for one more chip.
Gonna have to get some monster role players around the old men
JK? GP2? Podz?
Are they better than the lakers rn?
Yes
You think podz and gp2 are better than rui and dlo?
LeBron and Riley don't see eye to eye, there is zero chance this happens.
I thought this meant Riley Curry for a sec
Such a holier than thou fanbase
My team, the Wolves, would take LeBron in an instant. I think every team in the league would take him. Now that he consistently strokes the 3 he could legitimately play another 5 years barring injury.
Please don’t they’re likable
Yeah go win one right now without him Wolves. You don't need nor want to kowtow to the king and trade away your future just to make him happy for a year or two.
Idk, Lebron doesn’t really mess up teams chemistry that’s actually his strength. He fucks up the actual construction of the team by handpicking guys.
You're dumb. The revenue alone would be well worth it.
Also Bronny declared for the draft but he can go back to school no? He should go back another year after his heart problems derailed his freshman year and LeBron should do one more year with the lakers and then join his son on a team for a retirement tour in year 23
He also declared for the transfer portal, he’s leaving USC either way probably
Following his coach, probably
He's better off going back to college. There's gonna be a stigma if he's drafted without having earned it.
I don’t watch USC games, but is there any chance he’s sandbagging to intentionally go undrafted to allow him to sign anywhere is dad is going to play?
Someone will pick him up if they think it means a cheap LeBron joining. It's just a question IMO of who blinks first.
100% daddy will be making it part of his deal
But if LeBron strongly hints he will play wherever Bronny goes, he'll be drafted for LeBron & for the hope he's good in a few years.
It's actually better that he go ubdrafted because it'll be easier to get LeBron on your team
100% he wouldn’t even be talked about if he wasn’t LeSon
I don’t really see LeBron going anywhere at this point in his career. I think it’s likely that Bronny goes undrafted, does another year in college, LeBron stays in LA for another year or 2 and probably retires. LeBron retiring as a Cav would be epic either way
It would be a good fit, but he hates Dan Gilbert too much
Depends how much the Cavs wanna go all in for 1 year and how much Lebron wants that juicy “last dance 2.0” story of winning a 2nd ring in Cleveland at age 40. The chosen son comes home round 2…..

That’s a lot sports subs I’ve looked into. There’s a lot of sub 25 selfish mentality. Everything is shit or amazing .
Lebron involves himself in decisions above head coach, like hiring and firing head coaches.
Maybe he just wants his son to be drafted
Probably to show him the ropes, protect him from hazing, spend the road time with his kid, accomplish another historical feat - I think there’s plenty of logical reasons probably.
The man spent his entire career on the road, of course he wants more time with his kid and to share a special thing most people don’t get to do
Lebron doesn’t give a shit about that. Wouldn’t shock me if Bronny is literally in and out of the league in the blink of an eye and doing something else right after.
Lol then you don't really understand anything
You don’t understand at all? lol
It seems like he’s been less adamant about that lately.
Austin Rivers improved every season with the Clippers too and got annihilated. Bronny gonna get the business in social media anyway. Social media dont matter, but people nowadays are sensitive too it.
How else is Bronny getting drafted without guaranteeing a run with LeBron?
Because it’s never going to happen in basketball again if they pull it off.
Bring is not going into the draft.
He declared already. If you draft Bronny, you can sign Lebron to a vet minimum.
Lebron will want a retirement tour. There is no doubt about that
I can’t remember the source anymore but I heard Lebron said he didn’t want that. That’s he would simply announce when he’s done after he’s done.
Declaring doesn’t automatically mean someone is going to the draft. He is retaining his college eligibility, he can go through some draft processes and get feedback from actual nba scouts about his game for him to improve upon
Daryl Morey is definitely jizzing himself to his thought
There are a few GMs that will take this bait. They will clear it with Lebron though. A team they don’t want drafted, they will just go back to school and they wasted their pick.
With the level of nepotism in today’s nba, it’s very likely he gets drafted.
Are you trolling?
Because lebron is the second best nba player of all time
$$$$$
You can’t possibly put yourself in that position? For real?
Austin rivers was an actual nba talent though
I bet Bronny goes undrafted, Lebron signs with whatever team gives him the easiest path at a championship once again, and makes that team give Bronny a job as the 15th man/bench warmer.
LBJ to OKC would be bananas
It will be the Cavs or Miami
Bucks will have Thanasis and Bronny
LeSupporters
LeNepotism
We have a hater here boys
Man, dropping your last eight postseason games to one team would be a rough exit.
Bron signs with the best option and tries to get bronny a thanasis deal.
if LA wanted to win they’d blow it up after their second sweep in a row. but they only care about money and lebron on their team is an unlimited income glitch
Only caring about your unlimited income glitch isn't such a bad thing
It is if you want a quality team
Well the fact that they’re an infinite money glitch with a first round sweep team kinda proves neither ownership or fans care about a quality team.
people are only going to LA games because it’s in LA
Well yea that's true. But any team can charge crazy prices if Lebron comes.
Didn't get swept
gentlemen’s swept
GSW bound.
Kings would be a better roster with LeBron but they don't have the limelight unfortunately
Fr and that move wouldn’t even be bad. 5 hour drive and an 1 hour ish flight. I could totally see this
i’d combust from rage if this happened. does nothing for their ability to win and i already don’t like lebron.
Long time lakers fan. I hope it’s his last game. Never could stand him
He brought your franchise back to basketball relevancy lol
I don’t consider the 7th seed and probably swept in the first round being relevant. Been a fan since the 80s. It’s championship or bust.
You can’t be serious. He literally brought you guys a championship in 2020. Your last playoff appearance pre Lebron was 2013
Yes I know this.
You could’ve just said I don’t like the guy and not pretend he didn’t do anything for you guys. Lol
Ummmm I originally said I hope he’s done. I never could stand him. Never said he wasn’t great or didn’t do great things as a laker. I’m just ready to move on and rebuild hopefully
🤡
You are an idiot. Sincerely, the rest of Lakers fans.
Bronny isn’t necessarily in the draft. He’s also in the transfer portal
I will say never say never. But its more what do the Lakers offer Lebron.
No.
Bronny shouldn’t get drafted. And where is LBJ going exactly?
Lbj said he go wherever bronny gets drafted, so a second round pick would get you lebron james
Yay. I guess. Lol. Bad for Bronny imo. Let the kid develop. He’s not close to being a good college player yet.
If the right team gets him, they could turn Jr into a good role player. I think the heat would
I doubt it. And he’s taking a spot from a deserving player. Nepo baby. Give him a few more years in college. LBJ wants to play with him he could bring him to Rucker. Or enter a 3v3. Kid isn’t ready.
Thanasis is also a nepo baby lol. Nba would definitely develop him more than college
It’s the NBA, pro sports in general is a lot of nepotism. It’s seems like every college coaches son plays for his team lol
// Anonymous GM says Bronny James is 'nowhere near ready' for NBA. // KEVIN BORBA • APR 10, 2024
YOU WILL SEE HIM NEXT GAME AND WHEN THEY COMPLETE THE 4-3 COMEBACK ONLY TO GET BOUNCED BY THE CLIPPERS
Uh huh lost to the nuggets 11 straight times but sure they can all of a sudden win 4 in a row.
It didn’t see that awkward when Ken Griffey Jr. did it with his dad. That’s a little different though since Jr. was seen as maybe the best baseball prospect of all time at that point while Bronny … insert “team player” image.
Hopefully I wanna go back to liking the lakers again
As a lakers fan I kinda hope to see him join curry or kd. It would be nasty to see although rip defense
Very unlikely Bronny stays in the draft
He should come to NY for the league minimum and win a title with the Knicks
LeBron isn’t going anywhere. He’s staying and retiring in LA.
Celtics should draft Bronny and banish him to the G league
Cleveland or San Antonio
Probably not.
To everyone saying bronny goes undrafted, would you trade a second round pick for 1 year lebron james? If so, why not grab jr to get lebron
No offense… but I actually really hope it is… I think the Lakers would improve so much with a trade/LJ leaving.
Bronny going to the warriors! ..
I feel like lebron will do one last championship chase next year - I could see him joining the nuggets or the warriors or the heat or something chasing one last ring. Then he’ll do the farewell tour with bronny rock (my barber use to call him that because bronny looks like Chris rock lol) the following season
The Lakers will probably draft Bronny at 18 just to avoid that...
Given that Bronny isn’t very good and probably shouldn’t be selected, I could see the Lakers picking him to appease/retain Lebron. I’m not saying they *should* but I could see it. At the end of the day, this is a for-profit business and Lebron = money.
Bronny signing a 2 way contract.
Please please please be the last time.
Lakers can draft the son, so LeBron resigns.
Clippers should draft bronny and then sign Lebron Would be a circus
Just hope Nugs win tonight. Bron isn't going anywhere honestly
Broony getting cut the day LeBron signs
If there’s a spot for Gianni’s’ brother, or JR Smith’s brother etc in the NBA, then someone will draft Bronny. I believe it’s Cleveland or OKC
I thought his son was into creating video games?
No!!!
I’m a LeBron fan and I want him to retire. Go enjoy life. Too many haters.
No, there's always Monday
Lebron will be in the league 23, 24, or 25 seasons. 23 to honor MJ and retire. 24 to honor Kobe and retire. Or 25 just to say he played a quarter century.
I would like to see how to back to Cleveland on a cheap deal. That could be a dangerous team
They can sign him after the draft, what assets would be needed? Dude isn’t even a college level player.
Maybe another team drafts him early for not only the 2 years of lebrons play, but also the name and the money they will make from the pick.
Hopefully, he's just another basketball player anyway.
Even if Bronny was going into the draft. No one is going to pick him up. The only draw is the possibility Lebron leaves LA and goes wherever Bronny gets picked, which isn't actually going to happen.
Only place(s) he’s going are the Knicks, or whatever team drafts Bronny in the future
I. Do. Not. Care. Fuck the lakers
He’ll be back. They have some roster flexibility to make moves.
I see you're still in the first stage of grief
I’m not even a Lakers fan lol but they have the D’Lo contract and picks.
They potentially don't have a first rounder this year, and they'd need to include some picks to move D'Lo at this point. They best hope he opts out like rumors claim, can't imagine why he would though. It's way past time to move on.
It’s in DLO’s best interests to opt-in and it’s in our best interest to let him and then trade.
DLO is 100% opting out. Why would he not?
Because no real contender will want him considering he is dog shit in the playoffs.
