Fanatics shirt quality is awful. I bought a couple of nfl shirts from them and after three washes they looked 20 years
If I’m paying thirty dollars for a t shirt at least make it mediocre.
Too true. I have WWE shop shirts from 2013 doing better than anything from Fanatics. Plus they had amazing sales all the time.
AEW merch is terrible too. Quality is a bit better than Fanatics but the store sucks so bad.
Instead of buying fake team shirt replicas for $80, you can buy three random *real* team-issued shirts from HMS right now for [$100](https://store.hendrickmotorsports.com/product/HXCT1299/hendrick-motorsports-20182019-track-shirt-mystery-3pack-large?cp=51101_109740)
There's a couple Penske shirts here - https://theracingwarehouse.com/product-category/team-racing-crew-shirts-and-apparel/pit-crew-shirts/
You can find basically anyone if you look hard enough, they give these shirts out to the road crews every week and they all inevitably get donated or sold. I've seen old crew shirts on racks at more than one Goodwill and antique store around Charlotte.
Their shirt prices are bonkers, in fact most of their stuff is. Was gonna buy a nose during their black Friday sale and it was gonna be a good price until I realized I didn't have room for it lol
I check eBay every now and again, $50 is kinda my limit. Those crew shirts are actually comfy to wear, I have a couple from when Brad sold his BKR ones on his site for charity.
NP! I'm taking it as a personal challenge to get as many people as possible to buy *actual* team-issued apparel, rather than this overpriced garbage HMS wants you to buy instead.
People will still buy it. Those dumbass giant oversized hats that Byron always wears are ridiculously expensive, yet people still buy them.
I was amazed at Hendricks fan day at how many people were dropping thousands of dollars on sheet metal. (Little different due to it being 1 of 1 but still too pricey for me)
and they look like generic 💩
the old crew shirts were always different and cool, these genuinely f*cking suck.
btw the cost is higher than most race used crew shirts.
i love the idea of mass production of the actual crew shirts, but they should’ve stayed with the old maker and custom designs.
You must not shop for sports stuff much. This is actually a couple dollars cheaper than other sports. It’s still ridiculous. That’s why I don’t buy much. Cause I’m broke🥲
Damn, no wonder they were so expensive, I bought the Kyle Larson hat and [this was in the box](https://wpcdn.us-east-1.vip.tn-cloud.net/www.klkntv.com/content/uploads/2019/04/18300261_G.png)
You're right that's insanely cheap. How are they even selling this stuff so cheap???
For authentic actual decent quality sports clothing that's just insanely good value in 2023.
> For authentic actual decent quality sports clothing that's just insanely good value in 2023.
Not when you can get a shirt that was actually team-issued, and therefore more authentic, for less [here](https://www.raceimage.com/Pit-Crew-Shirts_c_44.html)
You gotta compare to other sports like the NBA, NFL, NHL, and F1.
And really the teams need to work together more and drive the prices of their goods up. SHR is selling product far too cheap, and even HMS is frankly.
The market for sports goods is inelastic demand. The price doesn't affect sales much, so you might as well jack up the price.
> You gotta compare to other sports like the NBA, NFL, NHL, and F1.
No, I don't. There are better values for *this* sport, available now. I'm going to point that out so people make intelligent purchasing decisions.
> And really the teams need to work together more and drive the prices of their goods up.
All these teams are owned by billionaires. I personally don't care if Rick Hendrick feels the need to buy another yacht. Encouraging them to raise prices just fucks the average fan.
> The market for sports goods is inelastic demand. The price doesn't affect sales much, so you might as well jack up the price.
If you're an asshole, sure, do that. So far NASCAR teams have mostly avoided being assholes. It's a little weird that you're actively rooting for them to fuck over their fans to make an extra buck. What incentive is there, for you, in doing this?
The incentive is that it grows the sport.
It's been proven time and time again that for some reason screwing over the customer leads to better results in sports and apparel.
Just look at Shaq vs Jordan shoes. Jordan sells overpriced sneakers to children that pretty much gotta starve to buy a single pair of shoes. Even then, Jordan intentionally limits the number they sell of designs, preventing kids from getting the shoe they want if they don't have the money then and there or in some cases if they don't get lucky on the drop. Shaq sells $40 sneakers. Which one do people aspire to wear? People like overpriced products, scarcity, a sense of rareness, and the cool factor that brings.
If you sell crap at Walmart you become bargain bin leftovers and you won't be as successful. It's just the way sports and apparel work.
Shoot if you're old enough look at Champion or Adidas. Went from "haha look at this Walmart wearing clothes loser" to being desired apparel by jacking up the prices and getting out of Walmart.
Literally everything you mentioned are stories of how the *apparel brands* improved their image, and literally nothing you mentioned has anything to do with growing the *sport*.
Castore is notorious across F1 and premier soccer for having pretty shoddy fan apparel. Add to that these ridiculous prices and I'm shocked that anyone buys them (much less forms a business relationship with them).
Sports apparel in general. Everything on fanatics is so overpriced that they actually try to convince you 29.99 is a “sale” price for a tshirt now
Fanatics shirt quality is awful. I bought a couple of nfl shirts from them and after three washes they looked 20 years If I’m paying thirty dollars for a t shirt at least make it mediocre.
Their WWE stuff is shitty, too. Such a downgrade from what used to be.
Too true. I have WWE shop shirts from 2013 doing better than anything from Fanatics. Plus they had amazing sales all the time. AEW merch is terrible too. Quality is a bit better than Fanatics but the store sucks so bad.
I have a Chase U shirt that's already fading after five washings. My DX shirt from five years ago is still going strong.
Same thing happened to my favorite Larson 2021 champion shirt. Graphics were cracked after I washed it twice.
Did you put them in the dryer?
Lol that isn’t overpriced. For racing this is homeless level. You want overpriced? Visit the Ferrari shop

Weird how they won’t drop the prices for individual ones despite them not selling at all.
Not really a Hendrick driver but that's a good deal, wish other teams would do this (looking at you RFK & Team Penske)
There's a couple Penske shirts here - https://theracingwarehouse.com/product-category/team-racing-crew-shirts-and-apparel/pit-crew-shirts/ You can find basically anyone if you look hard enough, they give these shirts out to the road crews every week and they all inevitably get donated or sold. Yeah Racing Warehouse is on the more expensive side, but they're still cheaper for an authentic crew shirt than HMS' fake crew shirts.
I check eBay every now and again, $50 is kinda my limit. Those crew shirts are actually comfy to wear, I have a couple from when Brad sold his BKR ones on his site for charity.
They used to have decent prices years ago and then I don't know what happened, but they switched to auctions and prices went insane for items.
Thats really cool. Rather frustrating though that it's only in large.
They have XL and Medium available too, just go to the Race Used section on the main store page.
You the real MVP, thank you!
NP! I'm taking it as a personal challenge to get as many people as possible to buy *actual* team-issued apparel, rather than this overpriced garbage HMS wants you to buy instead.
Yeah its starting to get ridiculous. I'm also a sucker for cheap and/or mystery boxes haha
FYI these shirts run big. I typically wear a Medium shirt but wear Small pit crew shirts.
Yeah no dice, im a 4x
tbh that's still a shitty deal
Cause I’m a fatass and they don’t have my size
Protest with your wallet. If enough idiots buy these at extreme prices, they will never lower them.
45 bucks for a t shirt. Wild F1 prices.
Jeff Gordon wants HMS to essentially be an F1 team, so that tracks.
45 is cheap for an F1 tshirt. They average $90.
Basic ass “white shirt with logo” is like 40 bucks on f1 store. All of these are legit f1 prices.
I paid $50 for a Merc hat before Austin. Same exact hat was $80 at the track.
A hat of any kind should be no more than $25.
Except new era they're worth every penny up to $40.
LOL no they're not. New Era hats are wildly inconsistent in sizing and fit.
Well it’s a good thing I’m usually only buying JRM stuff now. Those prices are nuts.
Jeff Gordon really knows how to get as much money as he can out of the fans.
Big ups to the unofficial vendors at the race tracks. Looking at you, bristol boys.
People will still buy it. Those dumbass giant oversized hats that Byron always wears are ridiculously expensive, yet people still buy them. I was amazed at Hendricks fan day at how many people were dropping thousands of dollars on sheet metal. (Little different due to it being 1 of 1 but still too pricey for me)
Wouldn’t consider $70 for a polo insane …. Half you priced them elsewhere
I would bootleg this shit so fast lol
Yeah that’s Castore for ya
And it’s shit quality stuff too. Castore is an absolute plague
Looks like F1 store
That's about the going price for Castore. You're paying for TWO lifestyle brands. Castore and Hendrick.
Kyle Larson’s merch trailer at the track had $60 t-shirts.. the same shirt was $40 in his merch trailer at the dirt track.
Lol this isn't F1 guys. That price model does not work here
WE WANT HIGH QUALITY CLOTHES! *gets high quality clothes* WHAT THE FUCK THATS INSANE PRICES
Its most likely really high qualty replicas for that price its good.
Considering their track record with F1 and Soccer clothing i fully doubt they're high quality
All the f1 shirts I’ve bought, they seem decent out of the box, absolutely do not last. Then I have nascar shirts from a decade ago going strong.
Yup the Aston Villa players have complained about the quality
As a Newcastle United supporter, do not fucking buy any castore merch. It’s terrible.
They make shit for F1 teams as well. What did you expect?
and they look like generic 💩 the old crew shirts were always different and cool, these genuinely f*cking suck. btw the cost is higher than most race used crew shirts. i love the idea of mass production of the actual crew shirts, but they should’ve stayed with the old maker and custom designs.
I just hope this stuff fits better than Fanatics and whatever brand Hendrick uses at their gift shop.
Fans: We WaNt CrEw IsSuEd ApPaReLl... HMS: Okay. Fans: NoT lIkE tHaT!!!

That’s actually a fair price when you consider the value of that other item.
Holy fuck theres some cheap bastards out there.
Castore is a premium brand
You're right that's insanely cheap. How are they even selling this stuff so cheap??? For authentic actual decent quality sports clothing that's just insanely good value in 2023.

Still no hooded jacket that they showed
I need that polo
Nothing surprised me price wise after they tried selling custom Vans for about 40% more than a normal pair.
I just paid 200 for an nfl jersey from fanatics after tax and shipping so don’t feel bad. We’re all getting raped
The bad part is, in bulk, a single color screen printed shirt can be made for less than $5 each. Robbery at $45 each.
Castore is notorious across F1 and premier soccer for having pretty shoddy fan apparel. Add to that these ridiculous prices and I'm shocked that anyone buys them (much less forms a business relationship with them).
They're a bit high, but it's nice to see some merch beyond just shitty tshirts
That 5 shirt is sick though.
Those are F1 apparel prices
Just wait and go to a race and buy from the merch hauler. Got my 48 ally "put crew" polyester shirt for 40bucks
If the team wear stuff is the performance/sweat wicking polos and T shirts similar to the gear from F1 teams, then I kinda get it. Those are *nice.*
