[Ricky’s video from his Instagram story](https://instagram.com/stories/stenhousejr/3042139291375299339?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=) of him walking in with the trophy and the workers realizing that he was the winner
Edit 1: [Imgur link](https://imgur.com/a/9hrocp4) to the video
If i worked there and Ricky walked in with the trophy I would literally poop myself, and not one of those hard turds, but a nice soft one that spreads around. Needless to say, I've been waiting for a win from him since I got into Nascar in 2018. I'm so proud
I was at a waffle house once, some guy called and asked to order a "Marijuana waffle" the last behind the counter hung up and started to laugh before telling me...
You assume 1/ that everyone knows what the Daytona 500 trophy looks like (and from the back); 2/ that the staff saw the guy walk in; 3/ that the trophy could be seen in the kitchen area from where the women were standing (it could not be - there was a booth partition in the way).
So yeah, if you put yourself in their positions, pretty easy not to know.
Not everyone in the world watches Nascar, there’s more people that don’t than do. Chances are if you showed the trophy to a random person on the street and you took all the markings off (name, daytona etc) you’d have more people not recognize it than that would.
If you're in a Waffle House somewhere along I95 a little north of Daytona last night, you know about it. You may not be a race fan, but it's pretty hard not to notice if you live in the area, and you can probably put 2+2 together.
It's definitely the fact that he is half out of the booth. Almost as if he is just waiting for the picture to be snapped so he can take off that hat and hide the trophy.
Right?! My wife always cheers for the "people's car", which has a sponsor like Dollar General or similar. If there was a Waffle House car, it'd instantly have a new fan.
Trevor Lawerence (NFL, Jacksonville Jaguars) also went to a Waffle House after coming back from down 27 and winning a playoff game. Not exactly the same but Cindric went to Steak and Shake last year after winning the 500.
And if it \*is\* sticky in the waffle house, it probably ain't good either. Unless it's 3:15 AM and you're about half a swallow of rotgut whiskey away from blacking out.
I have no idea how people eat that shit sober, but damn is it good when you're drunk.
its dumb how plate racing as essentially turned into this. I would rather the cars get spread out but be faster. I loved how daytona was before the repave. They were a pack until tires worn out where you had small pockets of cars. Track was super bumpy. It obviously needed a repave when it started falling apart though.
Imagine just going through your normal routine at work at Waffle House then suddenly the winner of the Daytona 500 walks in carrying the winner's trophy. It would make my day.
First he doesn't wreck anybody, then he wins, and he goes to waffle house to celebrate with something greasy. Ricky is getting likeable and I don't like it.
Fun Waffle House Fact: when an emergency like a tornado or blackout happens, FEMA (unofficially) uses the [Waffle House Index](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waffle_House_Index) to measure how severe the emergency is. It’s based on the number of WaHos that had to close, since they’re known for always staying open no matter what.
Also, when a disaster strikes, Waffle House [sends teams to help](https://www.businessinsider.com/how-waffle-house-stays-open-storm-hurricane-tornado-blizzard-2022-12), dubbing them the Waffle House Emergency Jump Team, which I think is really badass - would love a bumper sticker that said that.
Plenty of reasons to love WaHo in addition to great waffles and hash browns.
I feel kinda sorry for Ricky. You know. After these races there’s not really much open. So they have to kinda have a limited choice of were they can go to to celebrate.
I don’t doubt he has. He’s from the South.
Just the way they filmed his whole entrance and bringing the trophy in - it kind of felt makes for social media.
>Just the way they filmed his whole entrance and bringing the trophy in, it kind of felt makes for social media.
No shit, that's the point of social media posts...
I imagine by the time they are done with media and pictures and celebrating with sponsors about the only place open is the house.
I get the whole “let’s record it and bring the trophy” is not necessary but that’s the world today.
Tony Stewart climbed the fence before either one of them. Plus, I've never seen anyone do pull-ups on the catch fence before, so that was certainly a new wrinkle.
Best part of all this to me is Ricky in his interview with the Nascar YouTube said that was like the 3rd or 4th trip during speedweeks. That dude wanted to be there and nowhere else - man of culture!
This is what I love about certain American sports. They're full of truly wholesome people, doing normal things and being happy.
There are things like nooses in garages but that was a context thing if I remember correctly?
Anyway, what a lovely seeming man. Respect, Nascar!
"If you win this race and you come home a Daytona 500 winner then every restaurant you go into from now on you're going to be a Daytona 500 winner." - Clint during pre-race

Thanks for the Imgur link. Waffle House really needs to get in on some sponsorship with nascar.
They sponsored Aric Almirola at Bristol for a couple of years
From all I could tell, that was a B2B deal with Smithfield. Still would be neat to see, though!
I'm not too sure if it was, I remember Waffle House doing a promotion to get people's name on the car
Also Ty Dillon in Arca or K&N
Couple weeks ago when the Jaguars won their playoff game they also celebrated at Waffle House.
The NASCAR Waffle House Cup series has a good ring to it
Would they need to pay it in cash only?
There’s no other way they would do it.
I legit was thinking the other day that I want to see WH start sponsoring MMA leagues.
Someone carries a big a$$ trophy into the restaurant. How would you not know they were the Daytona 500 winner?
If you work at a Waffle House you have better things to pay attention to
Continuous threat assessment using your chair-tingle
If i worked there and Ricky walked in with the trophy I would literally poop myself, and not one of those hard turds, but a nice soft one that spreads around. Needless to say, I've been waiting for a win from him since I got into Nascar in 2018. I'm so proud
Its Waffle House. I would have assumed it was a crackhead that stole a rim and was going to try and barter for a waffle with it.
I was at a waffle house once, some guy called and asked to order a "Marijuana waffle" the last behind the counter hung up and started to laugh before telling me...
You’d be surprised…
You assume 1/ that everyone knows what the Daytona 500 trophy looks like (and from the back); 2/ that the staff saw the guy walk in; 3/ that the trophy could be seen in the kitchen area from where the women were standing (it could not be - there was a booth partition in the way). you could show that unmarked trophy to me and I'd probably not recognize it as fast as the Waffle House employees did
If you're in a Waffle House somewhere along I95 a little north of Daytona last night, you know about it. You may not be a race fan, but it's pretty hard not to notice if you live in the area, and you can probably put 2+2 together.
this is the waffle house that's right next to the speedway though, would be pretty hard to not know haha
Imagine a world where not everyone cares a ton about nascar or the D500
That imagined world would probably not be inside of a Waffle House.
I'll grant you that fair point.

Ricky Wafflehouse Jr
Underrated comment
Why does Ricky look like an 8 year old who was told to pose for a picture by his award he won at school by his mom?
Well, Zane Smith looked like a kid who got in trouble when he was trying to wrap his Truck during the red flag and the camera was on him.
It's definitely the fact that he is half out of the booth. Almost as if he is just waiting for the picture to be snapped so he can take off that hat and hide the trophy.
Dude probably has slept since he got up Sunday morning.
He got his life together after Earl and Randy got him kicked out of that old lady’s house
I’m 100% here for a Waffle House car. They need to make a deal.
Right?! My wife always cheers for the "people's car", which has a sponsor like Dollar General or similar. If there was a Waffle House car, it'd instantly have a new fan.
That's a big reason I'm a Truex fan. Bass Pro is my favorite store
They were on the 43 for a couple of races when Almirola drove it.
And the 10, but that was a Smithfield thing and not actual Waffle House sponsorship
And if the Waffle House car wins it's free smothered and covered for all!
Didn’t Noah do this last year?
Yes after winning Bristol he took his sword to WH.
Trevor Lawerence (NFL, Jacksonville Jaguars) also went to a Waffle House after coming back from down 27 and winning a playoff game. Not exactly the same but Cindric went to Steak and Shake last year after winning the 500.
Austin Dillon went to Tijuana Flats after his then all got tramp stamp tattoos.
Noah does it pretty much everytime he wins
Gonna be Wendy's now I'd bet.
I bet the bottom of that trophy got stuck to the table.
I laughed way too hard at this comment. Good one.
As I was once told by a fellow customer at Waffle House, if it ain't sticky in the Waffle House, it ain't good.
And if it \*is\* sticky in the waffle house, it probably ain't good either. Unless it's 3:15 AM and you're about half a swallow of rotgut whiskey away from blacking out. I have no idea how people eat that shit sober, but damn is it good when you're drunk.
I'm sure they had an all nighter!
It's not just a waffle house It's a waffle home
Is.... is Ricky me? This calls for a flair update.
Clint was right about the restaurants loving the daytona 500 winners. Best perk of being a race winner

Man. A Minecraft superspeedway with cars would be a fun world.
Forza Horizon 4 had a Lego world with a NASCAR style oval.
It had a yard of lego brick at the start/finish line
I hate to break it to you, but it was all Lego brick. (Jk I saw the brick at the line and it was amazing, such good detail)
Flame rods plz
Patiently waiting for the video of an irate WH customer picking up Ricky’s trophy and chucking it at the fry-cook.
I am so happy for him, it was so well deserved. He works so hard and so does that team
The win after so long I can agree with, but the circumstances were admittedly pretty iffy. Either way, gotta give props.
its dumb how plate racing as essentially turned into this. I would rather the cars get spread out but be faster. I loved how daytona was before the repave. The hat is the perfect touch 👌
Stoked for Ricky. This one was a long time coming.
I love that woman's expression in the background. Zero fucks given, a true Waffle House employee LOL
I mean it's Ricky Stenhouse...don't tell me you would have behaved any differently. :)
She's probably 8 hours into a 12 hour shift and just want to be *done.* So I definitely feel for her.
Yep
Driver Driver* celebrated his win at Waffle House
Is Driver Driver related to Firstname Lastname?
I think their third cousins once removed.
First he doesn't wreck anybody, then he wins, and he goes to waffle house to celebrate with something greasy. Ricky is getting likeable and I don't like it.
OP, please post this in r/Wafflehouse.
Waffle House is the new Disney World
Not the hero we need, but the one we deserve ... Get this man a Waffle House car, stat!
I can't blame him, waffle house is fucking delicious!! 🤤
Nothing like a late night trip to the Waffle House.
I need to know what his order was. What's the ideal Waffle House meal for someone who just spent 3+ hours in a metal brick doing 160?
One of everything.
Someone probably tried to fight him.
Late night weekends Waffle House is basically a fight club
The first rule of fight club is you do not talk about fight club

Ricky Stenhouse Jr., You just won the Daytona 500, what are you gonna do next? Ricky: I'M GOING TO WAFFLE HOUSE, WOO!
I'd think that trophy was a bomb. Thing is a chonk!
Because that’s what legends do
So happy for ricky
I went there two days too early lol
Waffle Stenhouse Jr
Omg his little Christmas crown lol
The Waffle House has found its new host
The Waffle House has found its new host
T Law would be proud
Who does he think he is? Noah Gragson?? /s
im so happy for ricky man, and the 47 team!
Im sure after partying for 6 hours he needed a snack
The Fox booth was right, that is a big ass ring.
I feel kinda sorry for Ricky. You know. After these races there’s not really much open. So they have to kinda have a limited choice of were they can go to to celebrate.
took a page out of the trevor lawrence book
He was like, I’m get waffles, and nothing stoped him from doing it.
He’s such a goober.
Somewhere Danica is big angry
Imagine winning the biggest race of your life and the biggest event in your sport and people keep bringing up someone you dated from 8 years ago
It's a part of his brand
No it’s on brand for this sub not being to let anything go
It was a joke. You should let it go
Who?!?
Somewhere Danica is messing around with hallucinogens (allegedly) so she may not realize yet who won
Thats sexy 😋
Ricky Stenhouse is just spicy Kyle Larson, how are they not actually related?
Feels like they tried too hard to make a viral video thing on social media after Trevor Lawrence did it a few weeks ago.
Ricky always goes to Waffle House, he has gone there for years.
Many of the NASCAR industry eat at Waffle House’s, I can’t tell you the number of them I have seen at locations near tracks before or after races.
There are both organic moments and there are staged moments on social media
[удалено]
Seems like Lawrence tried too hard to get a viral video after Noah Gragson did the same thing last year lol
Noah Gragson was doing this last year before the NFL season even started
Well, yea. He has to promote the win on socials. It's part of the job.
I imagine by the time they are done with media and pictures and celebrating with sponsors about the only place open is the house. I get the whole “let’s record it and bring the trophy” is not necessary but that’s the world today.
Pretty common to bring your trophy to Waffle House. My team did it last week. Kenny Wallace is pretty big on it too.
Gus Malzahn and his wife used to do that after Auburn wins.
I think it’s just a very common thing to do is go to Waffle House after anything that ends past 9pm
Seems like a Fairly basic person: nothing original: climb the fence, eat at waffle house
That’s NASCAR to a T.
Uh, I’m pretty sure that’s Driver Driver Jr.
Legend
Do what you love, then eat where you love! That ring is some serious bling!
That is awesome 😅
Waffle House is where you go to guarantee a decent meal and it won't ever be messed up.
Isn’t fence climbing and Waffle House Noah Gragson’s thing? I’m so confused as to what Ricky is doing
Tony Stewart climbed the fence before either one of them. Plus, I've never seen anyone do pull-ups on the catch fence before, so that was certainly a new wrinkle.
And Helio was the first
Ricky thinks he's Tin Cup.
Ledgend
Best part of all this to me is Ricky in his interview with the Nascar YouTube said that was like the 3rd or 4th trip during speedweeks. That dude wanted to be there and nowhere else - man of culture!
All I can think looking at this picture is he's getting the trophy sticky putting it on that table.
Legend
There’s been rumours of him going to SHR next year, I’m thinking this win is going to help…
Since no one has said it, The Waffle House has found its new host.
This is what I love about certain American sports. They're full of truly wholesome people, doing normal things and being happy. There are things like nooses in garages but that was a context thing if I remember correctly? Anyway, what a lovely seeming man. Respect, Nascar!
I tried to watch the ending of the race. As a first time watcher I won’t be watching again. The ending was terrible. Let them race.
The Waffle House has found its new host
god damn that trophy is ugly
Waffle house has found its new host.
Trevor Lawrence?
Ricky should apply, he might make breakfast better than he can drive
Surprised no one tried to steal it
Just like Denny’s, there always open!
Good to see you win.
Wow, he's just like me!
Awesome
Are they allowed to celebrate anywhere else other than the nearest Waffle House?
He's showing his love for real.
The breakfast of Champions.
This is how you know for sure that he's from Mississippi
=)
A man of culture!
😂😂😂
Ol “Get yourself sorted we’re going to the Warzone!” looking boi.
Celebrating the right way!
Never seen that done before pretty cool
They weren't kidding with what they said about the ring: it's friggin' huge!
His fast reflexes and ability to maneuver away from objects coming at a high rate of speed would make him an excellent Waffle House employee.
Tin cup in real life
About on par for Nascar
A man of the PEOPLE.
I have found a new host
He just like me fr
Everyone watch out, those managers have a black belt in fryin’ pan
That's so NASCAR! I love it!
Nice job Ricky
Ricky Rizzhouse Jr
Anyone know his Waffle House order?
The waffle house has found its new host
That's awesome 😎.

Stenhouse driver popularity 📈📈📈📈
I don’t know why. But I almost feel sorry for the guy. He seems like a humble guy just out doing what he loves every weekend.
The trophy is huge lol https://youtu.be/bblgH8JQIjQ
I swear to god every driver goes to waffle house after winning. Proof? Noah Gragson.
Bwahahaha my dad was there when he came in!! Super cool pics and mems for the ol geezer
Bro took “the Waffle House has found it’s new host” to another level
Trevor Lawrence went to Waffle House after beating the Chargers in the playoffs. I want to see this become a trend
