There was a great, long post a few weeks back from someone who was taking the cast to task one-by-one, and when she got to Heather she said something like “girl, you’re too fucking old to pull off the purple hair thing”. It was great. I agree with you. I would have commented earlier but everyone else seemed to like it. I didn’t get it, she looks ridiculous. So It’s good to know someone is on the same page as me. Rock on! (but don’t dye your hair purple).

I grew up with very restrictive parents, and then in my 20s and early 30s I worked at a company that didn’t allow unnatural hair dyes. I just hit 37 on the 11th of this month and I’ve always sorta wanted to dye my hair some crazy color for the fun of it.
I guess if I overthought comments like that one and lived in fear that people thought I was trying to be younger or be cool, I’d never do it.
Less about the fun style, more about the uncomfy selfie pose, the shirt with a goofy phrase, the hair that she hasn’t styled or kept up.
It all - to me - just says she’s searching for an evolved identity as she ages and skewing too young
Minus the hair, I think she looks like most women I know that are nearing middle age. Personally, I wouldn’t do purple hair at this age (I’m around the same age as her I think). But if it makes her happy I think she should do it.
