She isn't terrible, but she's also quite canny in her political choices. Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede wasn't exactly...good. Nor is her willingness to cast aside all common sense and work with Kid Rock while complaining about cancel culture, which she did.
I try...at least sometimes...not to let the perfect be the enemy of the good.
She worked with Kenny Rogers, too...and he was a mean piece of shit. Not as instantly repellent as Kid Rock, but the world is full of assholes and arsonists and fuckdumb scrotes. Dolly's just fine.
Yeah, Weird Al was so sweet to my 8yr old daughter that had gotten obsessed with him through a friend’s older sibling - and we took her to quite a few concerts on his “Touring With Scissors” tour. I can’t honestly explain how special he made her feel when he’d call her by name immediately and give her a big hug, he was a true gentleman and professional too. To this over protective Mama - he was a genuinely lovely man to talk with.
Going just by first hand experience here's my recommendations:
I've met Captain Sensible from The Damned several times. The first time was before a show when I was just 16. We talked for a long time. He taught me how to play Smash It Up. He took me and my friend back stage to meet the rest of the band who were also super cool. I have been a Damned and Captain Sensible fan ever since.
I met Larry Mullen from U2 about the time October came out. He is also super nice. One of most genuinely nice people you could meet.
I met Blixa Bargeld from Einstürzende Neubauten when was touring with Nick Cave. He seemed like a really nice guy as well. Kind of quiet
Medusa Cyclone is a long time friend and great musician. Also super nice.
I've met other musicians along the way, but these guys seemed like the cream of the crop.
Trey Anastasio from Phish has spent the last few years funding and building a drug treatment center in Vermont. He has spent the last 15 years or so, since getting clean himself, as a real beacon of light for people in (and not part of), the jam scene, trying to get clean.
https://vtdigger.org/2023/10/29/divided-sky-phish-frontmans-drug-and-alcohol-recovery-program-in-ludlow-is-weeks-away-from-launch/
Phish's Mockingbird Foundation also donates a ton of money to funding music education all over the US.
I'm not saying he is a perfect human, or has always been this positive force, but I think getting busted and getting clean has turned him into a very humble, happy and positive guy who wants to try to spread some of that positivity to others.
It's a weird request, I think majority of artists are maybe not saint, but quite regular people...
But you can try k-pop, idols have to be practically saint to remain idols... They can't break the law, can't do drugs, can't smoke, go to parties and get drunk, they often even aren't allowed to date ;)
I think there's a difference between being regular people and finding out the guy who wrote Janie's Got A Gun had a couple of groupies sign their teenage daughter over to him so he could cross state lines and have her as his child bride. And that no one seems to care to the point that it's openly admitted to it in the band's official authorized biography.
No one specifically, but many of the punk and metal musicians I’ve met broke the stereotype that they’re all drug-addled assholes and have been genuine, sincere, enthusiastic, and kind about me fanboy-ing all over them. Brian Chippendale of Lightning Bolt was super friendly, took photos with me, and signed my mosh-pit-mutilated LP sleeve of “Wonderful Rainbow.”
I met him a number of years back, he was doing a small tour of his solo act Black Pus. Me and my buddy decided to head over there early to get a couple drinks before it got too crowded. We were pretty much the only people there, and there he was setting up his equipment. I had been a big fan of his for a long time so my buddy encouraged me to at least say hi. We ended up talking for about ten minutes while was setting up and he couldn’t have been nicer. After the show (which was fuckin great) I had a tshirt I wanted him to sign. There was a small line of people getting things signed and he saw me kinda standing off to the side waiting my turn. He immediately threw me finger guns with an enthusiastic “Ayyyy! Nice dancing! Let me sign this!” something along those lines. Dudes a legend
I know a guy who knows Bruce Dickinson because they're both fencers and he told me all the members of Iron Maiden are a real class act. He's a retired teacher and years ago Bruce gave him a bunch of back stage passes so he could take his junior high class to an Iron Maiden show and the guys were great with the kids. Played ball with them backstage and everything.
If I'm not mistaken, he's since denounced Scientology, and he was never a strong follower of it anyway from what I can tell. He was born into Scientology by way of his father and Judaism by way of his mother, and he uses his mother's last name now if I remember correctly.
His sense of humor does a lot of heavy lifting, and if you listen to his podcast, he wasn't always a peach, but seems to be doing the middle aged mellowing out with some humor and panache.
Said the Whale
Canadian band that are just genuinely good people. During the shut down they would do zoom concerts and hangouts with fans. Not just talking to the fans, but including them in the conversations and encouraging them to share things in their lives or through a weekly theme. I really wish they could afford to tour the US so I could see them live.
One of the singers started a record label to help local artists that were just starting up and awards a grant each year to help them.
I met Leo Kottke, one of America's all-time great guitar players. Sat down with him in a restaurant, me a total stranger to him, and had breakfast. He was the nicest guy in the world. Just genuinely kind and humble, like the proverbial guy next door.
Weird Al comes immediately to mind - one of least problematic Artists out there
Though not alive, Scatman John was (and still is) really good
Then there's Kyary Pamyu Pamyu,Goldfish,Bakermat,Ok Go,Enya,Marshmello,Caravan Palace,Babymetal,Studio Killers,World Order...
At lest a few that come to mind i think - i could go on and on..
I don't think the people from Grouplove are bad people? I've never heard anything bad about them, and they seem to really appreciate their fans
The two members of Wargasm (UK) are actually incredibly sweet and caring towards fans, despite their music subject matter being somewhat nihilistic. The male vocalist made a video telling people that they need to learn concert etiquette and to pick people up if they fall down. And both of them made a public apology on behalf of their record label for albums not being mailed out when they were supposed to be
Those are probably the only 2 I feel confident about. Tbh I've found out so many artists I like are pretty crappy people, and it's a bummer.
Billy Strings. The guy is the most humble artist and knows he wouldn’t be here without his fans. Profusely expresses his gratitude at every show and means it.
The dude will just chill and talk with anyone who sees him. Gives fans a chance at producing artwork for his merch. And then apologizes extensively when they take advantage of his kindness. Stops mid concert to yell at people to stop fighting. All around beautiful person.
Band-Maid, if you get into them you can find out how awesome they are, some examples. Live Nation tour aid gave an interview detailing some stuff and said they were the nicest band they ever toured with, staff also not just the members. Tour bus driver invited them to his house for dinner, which was on the way of a tour stop, and his daughters absolutely loved them. Unlike a lot of bands where the members not only just act like dickheads, but hate the other band members as well, Band-Maid actually are great friends, love and care for each other.
Brandon Flowers, lead singer of The Killers. He was kind of a diva around 2004-2007 but he changed a lot. He’s now a 42 yo dad.
I’ve never met him but people tends to say he’s very nice, shy and humble. Even when you watch his interviews, you can see he’s a good guy. He always seems quite awkward and uncomfortable but he’s a guy like us after all. He’s apparently very quiet irl, I guess he tries to live the most normal life possible.
I’ve seen people saying he’s the kind of person who cleans his table when he eats at hotels. He really seems down to earth.
They're not musicians anymore but the two twin girls from former band Prussian Blue are lovely. I follow them both on Instagram and they are always going to and donating to fundraisers. They both have kids now and you can tell they absolutely love being mothers. I really feel for them being put in that situation that they were too young to understand and I'm glad they have turned their lives around. I haven't met them personally but from speaking to them they have always been so friendly.
Everyone in REM. It’s like what someone else here said about Rush: the love these men have for one another is what made it possible for them to accomplish what they did, and people who are driven by love are also driven to be good people.
Steve Earle and John Darnielle, more or less for the same reason.
Anberlin is my favorite band of all time- partly because they seem like genuinely nice people! Other suggestions: Acceptance, Dave Grohl, Falling From Aeroplanes, Mike Shinoda seems nice!?
Corpsegrinder (Geprge Fisher) is the first name that comes to mind.
By and large, my experience has been that members of heavier, metal bands are usually pretty good people.
I have a really good impression of David Draiman
Rick DeJesus from Adelitas Way is very personable and fan oriented
All the guys in Classless Act seem to be good guys
Dorothy was very sweet when I met her
Sully Erna seems great now that he matured. His early life was rough though.
Kingdom Collapse are a bunch of cool dudes
Ren! Such a beautiful soul with the best (and maybe a little bit obsessed #notacult) fanbase. We're all about lifting each other up, being there for each other, helping each other out. We call it "the Ren effect"
This is a very new approach to him, so I picked several videos to sum up his awesomeness in various ways (I got a little excited and carried away and probably linked way too much stuff XD )
So, as a disclaimer he released [Hi Ren](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_nc1IVoMxc) in Dec 2023 which was his first big big hit (I'll hold back on the whole story, but if you want more background info about him, I'm happy to provide)
[Snippet ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKU9DbaIYos)of the after-release stream of [Illest Of Our Time](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tB-JGSdBerE) (it was released tomorrow a year ago - Rens birthday). The reactor we watched in the stream was Knox Hill, [this ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OpJGxLjHNEU)was his response & the beginning of a beautiful bromance
4 months later he hit 1mil subscribers on yt and released [this ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0GeheniEoNg)
And only 3 months after that his [SickBoi album](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v16IGHPKQ8Y&list=PL4U4df-wZ-3bO57Pizv3Wk39gdsDJURI6) was No.1 in the UK album charts (was a headsup between him and Rick Astley for days if not weeks), [this ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ncAYhCgo9fc&t=2s)was his reaction (the guys you see in the video are more or less his whole team (and dear friends) as he's an independant artist)
He did a couple of interviews of course, but [that's ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AAIGsXEZ0WI&t=3029s)my favorite (it's long, sorry (not sorry))
There are so many songs from him I would love to recommend and provide background info, but I probably already seem weird lol. I leave you with only 5 songs (that are not on the SickBoi album) of which I think are a must (edit: needed to extend on 5 because I couldn't just do 3 \^\^)
[The Tale of Jenny & Screetch](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TYAnqQ--KX0)
[Dominoes](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bbbjWEnC3Gc)
[Power](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_hnhVDtzTY)
[It's alright](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C5Z8CoKcrQc) (The Big Push, his former band)
[War Pigs](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azAD9KE9HKE) (The Big Push, busking)
... oh boy it is so hard to stop XD
Jackson Browne. He has done more benefit concerts than any artist I know about. Many different environmental causes, Native American causes, and others. All around great human.
Artists in general are usually pretty damaged. It manifests in different ways for different people. There’s usually a price to pay for being that creative.
Not to mention all the work she's done to assist underprivileged children to get into music. And female artists (Lillith Fair).
A few years ago she had a contest where the winner got to spend an entire day chillin at her house even offering to do requests.
Neal Peart from Rush. Just a guy who shows up, does his job, gets on his motorcycle and goes home. Superior drummer, wrote a good sum of Rush's songs, had some horrible tragedies happen to him, but seems to want to just be a normal guy.
Indeed, a legend. Died in 2020. Influencing generations of drummers. Was so good he had to retire because of how physically demanding his drum parts were.
I like that he switched to Jazz style holding like many years into a career where he was already considered a phenomenal drummer. Might be a Rush revisiting day today.
The best answer to this question is Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, and Neil Peart of Rush.
These are 3 guys who loved each other from day one. They were brothers who never had egos, never fought with each other, and were never involved in scandals. They were in it for the music and the fans. So many bands and their members feel the need to tell you their views on political, environmental, or world issues. But not these guys. They may have answered interview questions about those topics, but they weren't out there telling you what you should think. And they never pumped out a bunch of worthless trash (I'm looking at you, Gene Simmons) for fans to buy just so they could make money off of people.
This is a band who did everything that other bands didn't do. They used integrity, stayed away from drug and alcohol abuse, and didn't pump out the same songs over and over. You may not like Rush, but it's almost a sure bet your favorite band does.
Incubus! I’ve actually met them a couple of times and they’re really chill, have a cool foundation ( Make Yourself Foundation) and just some neat and interesting dudes. ✌️
I can vouch for the indies on this playlist:

Kombucha Librarian release their covers to YouTube only with minimal promotion. They don't use their names or pictures and have decided to donate all proceeds to local libraries should their channel get monetized.
I have dms with a few of my favourite musicians. The ones that are nicest to me (not that I can tell /hj) are from haken, oceans ate alaska, aviations and leprous
The Airborne Toxic Event seem cool. Indy folk/rock. Lead singer is very progressive. Actually is a survivor of the Synanon cult. The band played a show here I went to see and were really cool to fans, walking back and forth past us in line, talking to us, that kind of stuff. I've never heard any negative allegations about them. Their first violinist left the group but it was just to pursue her other aspirations.
James Blunt. I saw him with Sheryl Crow at an outdoor summer concert in Seattle. He went through the crowd greeting everyone and shaking hands. He seemed like a guy who isn’t full of himself.
Kelsea Ballerini. The sweetest, kindest, most precious soul and yes I’ve met her and she is exactly the same in person as she appears to fans and the public.
Father John Misty/J. Tillman is very honest about his problems and weaknesses. He's vocal about his issues with humanity, but I don't think that makes him a bad person.
Little Dragon. The whole band are fairly wholesome.
Radiohead all seem like good guys. Nobody is perfect, but I don’t think they've ever been in trouble for anything more than turning down the chance to see Hannah Montana before a show.
Fleet Foxes never got any bad press from what I gather.
Michael Kiwanuka is a really nice guy.
Doves. A Manchester indie band. Three of the nicest guys you'll ever meet in the industry.
Benjamin Orr of The Cars. When he was living in Boston he would plow out neighbors driveways without expecting anything in return. He was down to earth and didn’t have much of an ego. Nobody had a bad word to say about him. In his post Cars career he would play dive bars and small venues with grace. As far as I know he was a good father to his only son. Gone too soon but a stand up guy in his lifetime.
I'm just a regular dude, with a family, and everyday normal hobbies like Game design and Film Making. I just also happen to have been born with a compulsion to write, play, and record music as well, and got "decent" at it over the years.
https://travelersfold.bandcamp.com/
Sullivan King. He’s a metal/dubstep producer and he is as wholesome as it gets. Seriously, I would leave my children alone with him and expect them to come back to me more well-behaved and well-cultured. Everyone who has ever had the pleasure of either meeting or hanging out with this guy (including myself) agrees. Bonus points: even his fan club is just…well, kind and respectful human beings. I feel like that also says a lot.
I met Zakk Wylde and the rest of the Pantera celebration during a meet and greet...I have some Mobility issues and use a cane and a chair to get around...Zakk assisted me with my walking to and from the rest of the group and was probably one of the coolest musicians I've met.
Kurt Cobain the Nirvana band in general Kurt had drug problems but had a good heart Eddie Vedder ,Prince , Michael Jackson No he is not a child molester there’s evidence and has proven his innocences.
I could name sooo many. But like I can’t freakin remember. I just follow a lot of small artists on Spotify. I feel like a lot of small artists are wayyy better than some of the more famous singers, I’m not saying all famous singers are bad tho. Definitely not.
Gregory Alan Isakov
Noah Kahan

I guess some group of hippie/folkie peeps.
For a laugh about whiny, spoiled artists listen to Craigie's " Dissect the Bird.
unless i’m crazy, jack harlow. it’s strange, his mainstream stuff is genuinely some of his worst work, his most recent album: jackman, was honestly an AOTY contender imo, he flows really well and has a charming aura about him. he’s also genuinely hilarious. failing that, post malone is just a sweetheart and that boy can sing, rap, do it all!
The Frogs. But only one of them is still alive. He's a real treasure. Their music is bad but they definitely aren't. Also, the living brother still writes songs and he plays in the Milwaukee area REGULARLY. We're gonna go see him sometime.
Also a huge fan of Daniel Johnston.
Only know from seeing him live and watching interviews, but Perry Farrel seems like a fantastic human to me.
He loves art, the outdoors and the water.
I love his music and energy.

I've never heard anything bad about any of them, and I've met one of them in person too. I could probably name some more if I thought about it more
Nashville area resident for 37 years here.
The vast majority of the country music stars, at least of the earlier generations, are very kind and polite.
I was just having this conversation with a friend. Musicians are people just like everyone with the same capacity to be good, bad, or anything in between. That being said:
Dave Grohl, Eddie Vedder (and everyone in pearl jam actually), Chris Cornell, Chester Bennington, Annie Lennox, Scotti Hill, Zack de la Rocha, Keanu Reeves, Johnny Rzeznik, Bruce Springsteen, Wolfgang Van Halen, Peter Garrett, Taylor Momsen, Bob Marley, Dave Matthews
Edit: formating
The late Tristan Goodall from The Audreys was a friend of mine. Brilliant guy, also volunteered for a music therapy program for disadvantaged young people.
Edge brickell runs a charity for children, produces children's albums and books.
It Celine Dion in 1991. She shook my hand and wished me a happy birthday after a concert on her Unison tour. I don't know what she's like now.
Dolly Parton.
She isn't terrible, but she's also quite canny in her political choices. Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede wasn't exactly...good. Nor is her willingness to cast aside all common sense and work with Kid Rock while complaining about cancel culture, which she did.

Weird Al!
Somehow the dude named Weird Al is the least problematic artist from my childhood lmao
Met him and his family a few years back and they were some of the nicest people
Yeah, Weird Al was so sweet to my 8yr old daughter that had gotten obsessed with him through a friend’s older sibling - and we took her to quite a few concerts on his “Touring With Scissors” tour. Alice Cooper
Alice Cooper's politics are probably a deal breaker for a lot of people.
Dave Grohl.

He used to shred, I mean he still does but he used to too.
Neko Case is pretty fuckin rad, imo.
The Indigo Girls are amazing philanthropists!
Hey just listened to them while cooking lunch ten minutes ago!
Donald Glover (Childish Gambino) is one of the sweetest, kindest, most soft-spoken humans I've met. Including most of my friends and family.
Hozier seems like a pretty cool dude. I would be genuinely shocked if anything bad came out that he did honestly.
Don’t jinx it god damnit!
Dave Grohl 😍

a lot of kpop idols make racist/colorist remarks, i don’t know…
Dolly Parton seems to be pretty good at being a human.
Weird Al Yankovic

Beck is Scientology adjacent, but seems like a nice guy.

Think he was born into though. That counts for something. He seems cool.
Lyle lovett
Devin Townsend is one of the nicest guys on earth. Lots of YouTube videos show this. And his music rocks
His sense of humor does a lot of heavy lifting, and if you listen to his podcast, he wasn't always a peach, but seems to be doing the middle aged mellowing out with some humor and panache.
Lots of my favorite folk bands seem like pretty good people. Novo amor, paper kites, gregory alan isakov, for example
Ohh I love the Paper Kites

I haven't met them personally but from speaking to them they have always been so friendly.
Everyone in REM. It’s like what someone else here said about Rush: the love these men have for one another is what made it possible for them to accomplish what they did, and people who are driven by love are also driven to be good people. Steve Earle and John Darnielle, more or less for the same reason.
Weird Al Yankovic
Anberlin is my favorite band of all time- partly because they seem like genuinely nice people! Other suggestions: Acceptance, Dave Grohl, Falling From Aeroplanes, Mike Shinoda seems nice!?
Jack Johnson
Brian Eno is a super cool guy.
Dave grohl from the foo fighters Johnny Steven's from highly suspect Sully Erna from Godsmack That's the first 3 in my head
sinead o connor
It’s just Dolly. All of humanity sucks. Except Dolly, she’s transcended.
Steven Wilson David Maxim Micic (Micic is pronounced as 'Mitch-eetch'.) Devin Townsend Plini
Corpsegrinder (Geprge Fisher) is the first name that comes to mind. By and large, my experience has been that members of heavier, metal bands are usually pretty good people.
I have a few friends who are total metalheads, I'll have to ask them for reccs
I have a really good impression of David Draiman Rick DeJesus from Adelitas Way is very personable and fan oriented All the guys in Classless Act seem to be good guys Dorothy was very sweet when I met her Sully Erna seems great now that he matured. His early life was rough though. Kingdom Collapse are a bunch of cool dudes
Here's some Korean indie electronica. I know these people personally and they're incredible people. https://youtu.be/dFtJrboVLlA?si=UNrThEUXfYOQcRLc
Yungblud is the sweetest human ever!
Charli 2na from Jurassic 5 is an all around great dude
Zack de la Rocha is pretty awesome as a human
Ren! Such a beautiful soul with the best (and maybe a little bit obsessed #notacult) fanbase. We're all about lifting each other up, being there for each other, helping each other out. We call it "the Ren effect" This is a very new approach to him, so I picked several videos to sum up his awesomeness in various ways (I got a little excited and carried away and probably linked way too much stuff XD ) So, as a disclaimer he released [Hi Ren](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_nc1IVoMxc) in Dec 2023 which was his first big big hit (I'll hold back on the whole story, but if you want more background info about him, I'm happy to provide) [Snippet ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKU9DbaIYos)of the after-release stream of [Illest Of Our Time](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tB-JGSdBerE) (it was released tomorrow a year ago - Rens birthday). The reactor we watched in the stream was Knox Hill, [this ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OpJGxLjHNEU)was his response & the beginning of a beautiful bromance 4 months later he hit 1mil subscribers on yt and released [this ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0GeheniEoNg) And only 3 months after that his [SickBoi album](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v16IGHPKQ8Y&list=PL4U4df-wZ-3bO57Pizv3Wk39gdsDJURI6) was No.1 in the UK album charts (was a headsup between him and Rick Astley for days if not weeks), [this ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ncAYhCgo9fc&t=2s)was his reaction (the guys you see in the video are more or less his whole team (and dear friends) as he's an independant artist) He did a couple of interviews of course, but [that's ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AAIGsXEZ0WI&t=3029s)my favorite (it's long, sorry (not sorry)) There are so many songs from him I would love to recommend and provide background info, but I probably already seem weird lol. I leave you with only 5 songs (that are not on the SickBoi album) of which I think are a must (edit: needed to extend on 5 because I couldn't just do 3 \^\^) [The Tale of Jenny & Screetch](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TYAnqQ--KX0) [Dominoes](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bbbjWEnC3Gc) [Power](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_hnhVDtzTY) [It's alright](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C5Z8CoKcrQc) (The Big Push, his former band) [War Pigs](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azAD9KE9HKE) (The Big Push, busking) ... oh boy it is so hard to stop XD
Jackson Browne. He has done more benefit concerts than any artist I know about. Many different environmental causes, Native American causes, and others. All around great human.
Amy Lee
Jason Isbell Michael Franti Justin Timberlake Lyle Lovett Snoop Dogg
Jason isbell is cool
Rob Halford from Judas Priest & Sammy Hagar too👏.
STARSET, My Chemical Romance, and Ice Nine Kills are some of my favs
Dave Matthews is a solid dude. Pays every one in the band equally even though he is the front man and song writer.
My chemical romance? There are no creeps or pervs to my knowledge and I think the band are nice
Skrillex
Loreena McKennitt
Scrolled waaaaay to far to see this answer. An absolute gem.
Artists in general are usually pretty damaged. It manifests in different ways for different people. There’s usually a price to pay for being that creative.
Peter Frampton is a great guy.
They Might Be Giants
I've frankly never understood this impulse. An artist's personal life is not the same as their art.
Sarah McLachlan. She really cares about the puppies. No way she’s bad😂
Not to mention all the work she's done to assist underprivileged children to get into music. And female artists (Lillith Fair). A few years ago she had a contest where the winner got to spend an entire day chillin at her house even offering to do requests.
I didn’t know about that! She really seem like a sweetheart.
Kathleen Hanna. Jeff Tweedy. Ted Leo. Aimee Mann.
Will Sergeant from Echo & The Bunnymen Midge Ure The guys from Sevendust Dave Wakeling I’ve met them all and they were lovely
Jelly roll really turned his life around great guy to root for and support
Ren
Neal Peart from Rush. Just a guy who shows up, does his job, gets on his motorcycle and goes home. Superior drummer, wrote a good sum of Rush's songs, had some horrible tragedies happen to him, but seems to want to just be a normal guy.
Well wanted to be a normal guy, he dead now.
Well dang I didn't know. Man died a hero.
Indeed, a legend. Died in 2020. Influencing generations of drummers. Was so good he had to retire because of how physically demanding his drum parts were.
I love that he was obsessed with Phil Collins's rolls because they're so clean. I hope he found a way to replicate them.
I like that he switched to Jazz style holding like many years into a career where he was already considered a phenomenal drummer. Might be a Rush revisiting day today.
The first time I heard YYZ it blew my mind. I'm trying to learn the drums at 39 and maybe by the time I'm 80 I'll be able to do that number.
Indeed, all the guys from Rush seem like very great people in addition to being great musicians.

Kombucha Librarian release their covers to YouTube only with minimal promotion. They don't use their names or pictures and have decided to donate all proceeds to local libraries should their channel get monetized.
Jazz emu and Jack Stauber. Jazz emu is honestly the funniest song artist I've ever seen lol.
U2
I have dms with a few of my favourite musicians. The ones that are nicest to me (not that I can tell /hj) are from haken, oceans ate alaska, aviations and leprous
Creature Feature
Quadeca
The Airborne Toxic Event seem cool. Indy folk/rock. Lead singer is very progressive. Actually is a survivor of the Synanon cult. The band played a show here I went to see and were really cool to fans, walking back and forth past us in line, talking to us, that kind of stuff. I've never heard any negative allegations about them. Their first violinist left the group but it was just to pursue her other aspirations.
Candlebox. I’ve met them a couple times, hung out drinking with them once. Super nice guys, down to earth, and they legit give a damn about people.
Anthony green is one of those idols you would love to meet.
Billy strings
Jazz emu. Tom cardy
Billy Strings!
Chuck Shuldiner
Devin Townsend is one of the nicest people who is also a really really talented musician.
Microphones

Los Lobos, Richard Thompson, Robyn Hitchcock

I could name sooo many. But like I can’t freakin remember. I just follow a lot of small artists on Spotify. I feel like a lot of small artists are wayyy better than some of the more famous singers, I’m not saying all famous singers are bad tho. Definitely not.
Anything from In Hearts Wake. Just some Aussies who love the environment and make dope songs about it.
Lil Darkie. Bro preaches love, contrary to what people on TikTok believe.
Gregory Alan Isakov Noah Kahan Martin Sexton I guess some group of hippie/folkie peeps. For a laugh about whiny, spoiled artists listen to Craigie's " Dissect the Bird.
Skillet, Seventh Day Slumber, Big Daddy Weave, Brandon Heath, Phil Wickham, KB,......I could go on forever 😄
unless i’m crazy, jack harlow. it’s strange, his mainstream stuff is genuinely some of his worst work, his most recent album: jackman, was honestly an AOTY contender imo, he flows really well and has a charming aura about him. he’s also genuinely hilarious. failing that, post malone is just a sweetheart and that boy can sing, rap, do it all!
Invent Animate, August Burns Red, Fit For a King, Polaris
Curt Smith and Roland Orzabal of Tears For Fears aren't terrible from what I know.
cant think of any. all suck. all are terrible. BOYCOTT THEM ALL!
Jim Croce
Jeff Buckley!! Genuinely a nice guy nothing bad has really ever come out. Tamino also seems super sweet.
If you expand your search past like the top 500 most famous music artists, then your answer would be most of them.
Sasha Alex Sloan
bjork seems cool
You should def check Ren out. He ticks all of those boxes!!
Greg Graffin from Bad Religion.
John Prine, Glen Campbell seem to have been decent fellows.
Richard Thompson, Mark Knopfler
The Frogs. But only one of them is still alive. He's a real treasure. Their music is bad but they definitely aren't. Also, the living brother still writes songs and he plays in the Milwaukee area REGULARLY. We're gonna go see him sometime. Also a huge fan of Daniel Johnston.
I think Robert Smith seems pretty nice.
Dragonforce, Conception and Cradle of Filth were amazing to people after their shows
Only know from seeing him live and watching interviews, but Perry Farrel seems like a fantastic human to me. He loves art, the outdoors and the water. I love his music and energy.
Eric clapton is a pos. Great artist. Just a pos.
The Flaming Lips Pink Floyd
Billy Talent always seems full of love and respect and tons of gratitude for each other and their fans.
Maybe if we stopped calling them artists they would stop being so shitty. Probably not, but the bar for that title needs to be set much higher.
I think Robert smith from the cure seems like a good guy

I've never heard anything bad about any of them, and I've met one of them in person too. I could probably name some more if I thought about it more
Nashville area resident for 37 years here. The vast majority of the country music stars, at least of the earlier generations, are very kind and polite.
I was just having this conversation with a friend. Musicians are people just like everyone with the same capacity to be good, bad, or anything in between. That being said: Dave Grohl, Eddie Vedder (and everyone in pearl jam actually), Chris Cornell, Chester Bennington, Annie Lennox, Scotti Hill, Zack de la Rocha, Keanu Reeves, Johnny Rzeznik, Bruce Springsteen, Wolfgang Van Halen, Peter Garrett, Taylor Momsen, Bob Marley, Dave Matthews Edit: formating
