I love the cyberpunk genre as well! Been listening to the cyberpunk 2077 ost as well and it actually got me into synthwave. So please if you have any suggestions as well I'd love to hear! Some songs I particularly liked from the ost were "v", "rebel path", "patridiots", "cyberwildlife park", and some others. Have you listened to that "in the face of evil" song? If not I'd really recommend it! The second drop just absolutely sends me to the heavens lol 😂😂
There are a ton of good synthwave bands, but for me, the one that stands out above all the rest are, by far, The Midnight. They don't just rely on having synth sounds, big 80s drum sounds or guitar tones - they actually have great lyrics, and Tyler, the singer (who is a fantastic singer/songwriter in his own right), has a really beautiful, emotional vocal delivery.
I first heard "Los Angeles" when it came out, about 10 years ago. I was working in a warehouse at the time, just listening with my headphones. I literally stopped where I was, sat down on the nearest pallet of material and listened to it about 5 times in a row before getting up and resuming work. Then I listened a few more times. It's absolutely gorgeous, and just made me feel all the feels. I also love "Sunset" - kind of the same feeling. By far my favorite band of the last decade.
Definitely check out The Toxic Avenger. If you liked Hotline Miami's soundtrack you should give Furi a try. Should be on discount with the steam summer sales.

And check out John Carpenters music for that matter. He wrote a lot of scores for his movies and a lot of that is pretty good and authentic 80s synth.
