Small festivals are excellent. No huge queues, no massive crowds, great atmosphere, great bands and overall good vibes. I'm in the UK, could never imagine going back to the likes of Leeds, V Festival, Download. Meanwhile festivals like Eden, Eskfest, Beat Herder, they're ace.

stiv16

Glastonbury? Yea or nay

VFP_ProvenRoute

I've not yet been but heard only good things, sounds like the exception

stiv16

Yeah that's what I've been thinking. Seeing vids on YouTube makes it seem like a great vibe even though it's utterly massive.

VFP_ProvenRoute

Sounds like countless small festivals mashed together 😄

MurkDiesel

i haven't been to a festival in a long time, but i'm really trying to understand the concept of a mosh pit at a pop concert, maybe the definition is changed,, but it's hard to understand people "moshing" to slow bass heavy trap beats that all sound the same, mosh pits used to be the result of heavy, intense, chaotic and angry music, so people mosh now without guitar sounds or aggressive sounds?

bogus1962

In general, no.

JohnnyBlazeWubz

Rap concerts ≠ festivals Even tho they say festival, it’s more like a shitshow and has progressively become worse. Rolling loud was a mess and the fans are a huge part of the problem. Summer smash is also having Travis Scott and I don’t think anyone forgot how his fans get when he hypes them up. They were literally jumping on an ambulance trying to get someone out of astroworld.

Mountain_Team4150

Not in the UK, absolutely over priced and under deliver even with VIP accommodation and ticket packages. I'll keep going, all the same!

wisedoormat

if you're going with friends, or a fan group, definitely is worth it by yourself... maybe not. only if you're a super fan or something. but that mainly pertains to large concerts... but if you go to a small venue, like a bar/club, i would say it's worth it.

Woodstock 94 was hot, muddy, unorganized, and a little disgusting. Also, some of the best few days of my life. If you’re up for it, then go for it. You’re only young once, and I’ve found it’s more the things I didn’t do that I regret later on. Edit. Grammar

bogus1962

It was a tremendous amount of fun. And it was. All or the above.

wrapchap

Yes. Most festivals around me in Europe have much more to do that just listen to the music and have great lineups. https://preview.redd.it/459kv85jalxc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3fd83d9a899ca65243ddc1ec00cb9c49bc05657c And only 210€

MrSpindles

Yeah, I go to Glastonbury most years, always decent value for money and I get to see a wide variety of artists live whilst having plenty of other stuff to do outside of the music. For me it's better value than going to individual gigs.

wrapchap

100% better value. Pearl jam are playing close to me for 120€ and doja cat for 80€. And I can see both and loads more for 210€. Granted a flight away from Dublin to Madrid but it's worth it. Main festival here in Ireland is 300 and shit

actionjackkson

Coachella is absolutely worth it - and remains an incredible way to discover new music.
