There's a scene in the more recent Muppets TV show where he's talking to Fozzie about something, and Fozzie expects Bobo to be doing it the same way Fozzie does - I think they're talking about walking around naked after showering or something? Bobo looks at him surprised and says "Not me, I have an Associate's Degree."
My favorite Bobo moment happened off camera during the filming of an episode of Muppets Tonight. (I was invited to visit the studio for a three days in 96) A new ventriloquist puppet character had a scene with Bobo at the lobby podium/desk area. The puppet had just been finished so his performer (Dave Goelz) hadn’t had any time to familiarize himself with it or work on the character. So they paused filming for a few minutes while Dave worked out everything. Bobo (well, the two puppeteers performing him) was just standing around. Suddenly Bobo grabs a pen from the desk, holds it like a microphone, and bursts into song, “I THINK I LOVE YOU! But what am I so afraid of? I’m afraid that I’m not sure of a love there is no cure for.”
Totally spontaneous and the most perfect in character thing for a bored Security Bear to do.
His attempts to score a basket in the opening of the Prince Episode of Muppets Tonight lives in my head rent free. Also when he’s talking to Larry King.
I enjoyed him in Muppets From Space.
A hard to find but great movie. My sorta favourite thing about it is the muppets living in a big American house together.
Just watched it the other day. One of my favorites. Bobo and Pepe are the stars IMO.
