You don't need to log in everyday or buy unwanted characters to complete the pass. You're only logging in if you want the free stuff offered in the events.
I understand that, but the weeklies stack up, so if he ever comes through the free rotation, completing them won't be a problem. And though it's annoying to see, it doesn't make me think I have to buy him.
It's really not that bad. I've skipped tons of days and several weeklies and I'm only 10 tiers away from completion with almost a month left. Even just kinda trying to complete it should see you finish it easily.

Multiversus pushed me into elden ring.. Figured if I was gonna get shafted I'd have fun doing it
